applause. this is a rallying cry for much of trump's most conservative and fer vent supporters, and not surprised to hear it from him, and not a surprise to hear from other leading republicans that they disagree with him. this is an aggressive effort by trump and allies to re-write the events of the day of january 6th and many who were in the capitol that day including senators graham and colins have fought back against this effort to downplay what happened there, in washington, at the capitol, but for trump, this is an issue that a lot of his base is very worked up about, they feel that people that invaded the capitol were peaceful protesters, and don't deserve any sort of legal prosecution. and i think we're seeing that divide and split again, as trump often does in the republican party, putting some other republicans on the spot to answer question that they are not eager to discuss.
