the democratic party has been defunded. it's hard to get blacks, minorities, martino's, to participate. -- you know, i wanted to south carolina, i love the state, and one thing to propelled forward just as much as i want my state to propelled forward. but again, you don't have to rob peter to pay paul. the state is doing its daily diligence to figure out ways to get people engaged, while the party mechanism may not be the mechanism that gets us engaged right now, it's something that means something to so many people. -- the state is 85% white, but man, the minority population that represents that 15% is strong, and it is mighty. that evidence is shown not only in the 2008 presidential election, but historically. and this is the first state to desegregate schools. this is the first place to place a woman -- we've done so many things in the state throughout history, and that underscores the power that we have.
