see excitement and you see hope. and that is the way my family and i felt. >> viola is part of a program run by texas tech university. health scientist center. and doctors of the world. it brings medical care to migrants and shelters around el paso. >> lucky for me i had a lot of mentors. i want to extend my head as well. i want to bellwethers. and i want to succeed. just like i succeeded. the work is exhausting. the needs are never-ending. but the volunteers here say they are the ones inspired by the people they serve. >> what is it that they have taught you? >> migrants arrive here, they are filled with this hope. it's that land of opportunity for them. it is encouraging to be reminded that people still believe in america. and it makes me want to live up to their expectations. to be america they imagine this country to be.
