My favorite part, as if carol wasnt enough, we have two on the set this morning. We do. You agree . It is my favorite time of the week, too, to talk about animals, and help people have a little bit better relationship, this dogs fame is carol. Did you not make that up . Did i not make that up. In fact, actually name after george bengle, the legendary pennsylvania spca human Law Enforcement officers wife. He died. But certainly his legacy lives on. This dog is just wonderful. Taking a little bit more where you can find carol after the show this morning. Couple of things i want to talk about today, though, jan and everybody. I want to talk about what do dogs really want . What do they want . Ill show you a list right now, and then get into all of it. They want yellow and blue toys. They want you to turn down the volume on your tv. They want longer walks, well tell you why, as you know, if you have a dog, dont put anything in their mouth, and why do they do that . And if you want to pet them, and pet them gently, pet them around the muzzle, also tell you why thats important. So lets get to the top one. The top one is if youre going to be choose ago dog toy for your dog, get a blue or a yellow one. Because thats the part of the color spectrum that they see more closely to us. According to your dog, which is a fabulous newsletter, from Tufts University vet school, dogs mostly see the worlds like the first 20 minute of the wizard of oz. So that kind of gray, check it out, if you dont know berks they dont see color like we do, but blue and yellow, thats the color toys to get. Now with our cats . You know i have my riley at home, i walls want to get them toys. They arent really impacted by the color choice of a toy as much. They want contrast. They want different patterns, and striping. Tow get a toy Something Like that. Theyll absolutely love that. Then, the tv volume. Dogs hear four times better than we do. So if theyre laying on the floor, the tv sounds could be lower, the music you lever on at home, they dont have the right to turn it down. If they did they would. Make sure, just dont pump up the volume around your dogs, turn down the volume. Very, very important, they also do not like it when people argument they want everybody calm, cool, and collected. Sure and happy, right . It is the tone that theyre mostly interested in. So, they want a calm and relaxed tone. The other one is sniff time. How would you like it if when you were reading a magazine i came by and slammed it shut, right in the middle of an article. Thats the dogs knows for them almost like reading a book. So when theyre out on these walks, because they can hear a concentrations 100 times less than we can, hi, carol, so did you know if you had a slide, like glass slide with a light fingerprint on it, could you leave that out, human fingerprint lever it outside for two weeks the dog would still be able to find t thats how much they can smell. Theyre really your neighborhood News Reporter. They know who walked through the neighborhood, when they walked through, even books before. Thats something let them have little extra time. That five minute walk, give them 15 minutes. Why not . Let them check it out. Good for you, too, right . Good for you too. Theyll put anything in their mouth, see them with rocks, that sort every thing, they like to explore with their mouths, keep them safe. They eat fast because theyve only got 2,000 taste buds compared to the 9,000 that we have. So thats why, you know, we will swirl the wine around in our mouth for an hour and dog will wolf down their food. Then obviously they can love to have their backs scratched, just like, that but if youre going to pet them, nicely and softly right around the muzzle. This dog, carol, same color as a cantelope. Right . Isnt it . A melon. She is a a wonderful dog. Talk about her, so those are some of the things. Be gent. Absolutely very gentle. You know what, youll really bonds if you are gentle and do there is see . Oh, she will fall asleep. Absolutely fall asleep. Practice what you preach. She really loves it. Yes, she will fall asleep right here. Let me show you couple of other animals available for adoption. Look at this dog. This is paris, three year old pointer mix. Now, she not crazy about other dogs but dow does she love kids and people. So, if youre getting a pointer these dogs are, they need a ton of exercise. Then we have bengie four year old belgium, these are great dogs, theyre highly intelligent. They were originally herding dogs but do work with police and that sort of thing. So, thats a dog where you would really want to be able to provide them, be as smart as they are and provide them with a lot of exercise now, carol, where are you going to find this carol.
