A partial Building Collapse in before 30hh inclwocant, no one was hurt, weo not know what caused the Building Collapse. Union nurses are going on strike at a local hospital today. That is after a disagreement over staffing levels. Eyewitness News Reporter anita oh is live at Delaware County Memorial Hospital this morning, so, anita, how is the hospital responding. Reporter well, jan, good morning, the happies assuring me that they are opened and that they have been ready to deal with this since the threat of the strike began two weeks ago over failed negotiations, now they say that the team of licensed and experienced caregivers is ready to go, you can see behind me that all 370 nurses and text here at Delaware County Memorial Hospital have walked off the job and they are currently picketing since about 15 minutes ago. The hospital says that they will, because of staffing agencies required about five days of pay to get tell prepare i replace also this work stoppage is expected to continue until friday. These nurses have been picket ing, since about 15 minutes ago andy until 7 30 and it is just meeting on friday, between Hospital Union officials which reportedly failed, some of these nurses who spent their entire careers hearsay they have been forced to do this out of concerns for patients. They have apologized to those patients for walking off the job today. We used to have five patients to one nurse on the floors, now they are giving us up to seven and eight. They have cut the aids. Our nurses aids, we used to have two for 20 and new we have one for 20. We are told answer call bells within so many minutes. Dont leave any one in the bathroom by yourself. Im in a room with the patient and their family and im here, and i know it is just me and another nurse. The union and the hospitals owner, Prospect Medical holdings, have in the been able to reach an agreement on staffing levels. The strike, will last two days , and the hospital says that it will remain opened despite the strike n a statement, hospital administrators say that quote, crozer keystone has been preparing for the possibility of the strike, and a contingency staffing plan is now in place. Now, hospital administrators also say that there will be licensed and certified nurses there to provide care for patients. Meantime fire investigators are looking into the cause of the fire in philadelphias West Oak Lane section, that fire sent a girl and her parents to the hospital. The fire broke out in the 5500 block of north bouveer street around 6 30 last night. When Fire Fighters arrived the fire had already spread to both of the floors of the house, and they, rescued girls parent but saving child was more difficult and that is because she was trapped on the second floor. Co made a hercules effort to get to a young child that at this point had been transported and is in critical but stable condition at the hospital. We do not know the conditions of the girl or her parents this morning, but Fire Fighters say that the fire may have started on the homes first floor but it is unclear whether the home had working smoke detectors. Two years ago today Philadelphia Police Sergeant Robert wilson the third was killed while trying to buy a gift for his son, he was in the game stop when two men tried to rob the store. We have a warming trenton our way, right now the jet stream is still, to our south, that contains the cold air, and arctic air that is situated over midatlantic. That is on the move. We will bring back some warmth that hoist it has been for the past month or so, few days of cold air and then warms up again. Few, highs running 10 to 15 degrees above average for tuesday in, to wednesday. And as another next storm approaches but it does bring some rain along with the warmer temperatures. Certainly feeling like, midjanuary today, average high close to 50, not enclose today, tomorrow should get up to close to average, possible ly the lower 50s and then we will spike those temperatures, tuesday and wednesday, we will punch in the 60s. We do, this is remington only 10 months old look at the size of this dog. Giant. We will talk about. That i want to talk about bark to go day because barking is something that everybody hears , and every dog does it, and it probably irritates many , many owners but i think when people understand that there is a reason for that and there are five Different Things their doggies trying to communicate to you in a different sound with all of these, all of these barks, and this is great information from a book called barking, sound of the language. These are sound at pennsylvania spca. What you are seeing there with the tail wagging and happy look, that is called excitement barking. You dont punish joy. Their tail wagging, running around, high pitched, happy kind of expectant kind of bark so just let her bark, but if you dont want them to do it you have to completely ignore it. It takes weeks. Reward them when they get quiet. Another bark that you will hear, not often but it is a warning bark, short, sharp and alerts people and k9. Acknowledge your dog that hey i get it, maybe stand between your dog and that perceived threat and your dog will say i warned you, you totally get it a fear bark you will know that one because it is penetrating, high pitched, long series, up can hear fear because it end in a howell, do not punish them this can be fear of being left alone, fear being locked in the create, any of that stuff. Dont put them in the fearful situation. If they are afraid get between them and that thing that is scarring them just like would you do for a warning bark.
