We have the high humidity, basically from the city southward. Those heat index upper 80s to lower nine owes not much difference compared to the temperature in the Lehigh Valley but you guys will feel that heat this morning into the afternoon. Yes, a group behind me passing on the Schuylkill River trail. Authorities are not releasing much about those two women who died. We know there was a 67 yearold woman in brewerytown and 82 woman from Port Richmond. Authorities say they were heat related deaths. Sad story there. Right now folks are trying to get their work out in before the temperature get out of control which justin said they are going to today. We are talking about kid that cant be out here those city pools, 21 city pools were scheduled to be closed. Right now only eight of them will be closed. That means 13 will stay open later then expect because of the heat warning that is in effect, until 9 00 oclock tonight just to give those kids a chance to cool off make sure they are properly high traded. So they dont have any dangerous situations out there. We did speak to a run their we caught up with 20 minutes ago out here who said she wanted to get out here before it got crazy hot, lets take a listen. It is unbearable. Very unusual for summer. A car crashed into a frat house in north philadelphia it happened on temple universitys campus at broad and norris street. Police tell us that the driver ran across the intersection and crash in the steps of the corner building. The driver was hurt in the crash but is expect to be okay. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Developing this morning, in milwaukee violence breaks out after a fatal police involve shooting. The Authorities Say a crowd of protesters smash Milwaukee Police car and set fire to another and neighborhood where an officer shot and killed a man. Gas station and Auto Parts Store was also torched and investigators say an officer was hurt by a throwing brick. Shooting happened yesterday after a traffic stop and foot chase. One of the two people running from the scene was a 23 yearold man who was armed with the stolen handgun. Officers didnt know it at the time but there were 23 wound in that gun, 23 rounds in the gun that officer was staring at. Reporter twentyfour yearold officer who shot the man has been placed on administrative duty and his name has not been released. The officer has been with the Milwaukee Police Department Six years, three as an officer. Authorities are investigating a shooting involving an offduty corrections officer in Mercer County. Prosecutors say officers shot and killed a man who was trying to get into his home. Eyewitness News Reporter trang do picks up the story. Reporter woman cleaning up the front yard here said a tragedy occurred and that the family would have no further comment. Neighbors say they were asleep and didnt hear anything. Gunfire erupted on vicky court a quiet street in hamilton new jersey around 4 00 a. M. Police found dominic neil with the critical gunshot wound to the head lying by front steps. This is like right here, like right around the corner here, so. It is scary. Reporter detectives interviewed the home owner who said he went out to his front important to much smoke between 3 30 and 4 00 a. M. He saw neil coming up in the black hoodie with his head down one hand on the waist band and other reaching for the door. Home owner shotted for neil to stop so when he didnt the home owner fired three to four shots through the storm door striking neil once. Neighbors say they didnt hear a thing. Didnt hear anything at all, no commotions or anything and i didnt realize anything was going on until i came out to the 6 00 oclock in the morning with my dogs. Reporter police did not release homeowners name but he was a corrections officer. He keeps to himself. I know that he is a corrections officer and, you know, i dont really speak to him a lot but like i said he keeps to himself and there was no problems. Reporter officers found neils car a block away near intersection of the buchanan and mcclellan avenues. The home owners girlfriend was inside the house and did have a Domestic Violence restraining order against neil. Medics rushed neil to Capitol Health Regional Medical center where he later died. Just into the news room the nypd released a sketch of the suspect they say killed an imam and member of the congregation this he were shot leaving their months income queens sat the day afternoon. It will feel more like hundred around Lehigh Valley, 105 around philadelphia and surrounding suburbs. Dew point temperatures we have been watching for past several days this tells us how much humidity in the air, very high, 77 degrees, right now for dew point for philadelphia, highest it gets around here. It does feel insufferable but we will knock them down tomorrow, and still feeling owe rest i have but much better then what we are having today. This forecast of dew points. They have forecast to come down to the lower 07s. We could get relief. Heat index today will be around 105 compared to 111 and even tomorrow we should start to see dew points in the 60s north of the city. That will feel good. This is a cat that is like a dog. So, if you a dog person and want to get a talk that is like a dog, this is one for you. He is absolutely wonderful, for a cat to sit around and not be freaked out. Lights, camera. Camera moving but we have a box here in case he need more security. We are talking about senior pets. This is a senior pet, a 13 yearold cat taken to the shelter because like so many of these older pets, rahel the owner was moving, could not take them, excuses that frankly many of us find hard to believe or tolerate. It has nothing to do with the pet. That is key point that has nothing to do with the pet. These older animals are in the shelter through no fault of their own. We will talk about pepper in a second. But first i want to show you older animals. Now this is abby, another cat at spca. Shes a nine yearold domestic short hair, shes super friendly. So cute. Shes wonderful. One cage over from pepper and hopefully they are in the add jim houses soon. We have this dog, this doggies a staff favorite. This is kency a german short hair pointer mix, shes very timid but she warms up and she would love to somebody to be home with her. Perfect dog for a retired person to be home and chill out with. Then we have this dog, this doggies very shy for good reason. This is pretty girl. Shes between six and seven. She has been at the shelter for a long time. She was abandoned for weeks if not months. Shes very shy. She was even shy around the camera hiding behind, but the staff is working with her and she would absolutely love it. Shes a volunteer favorite. They love taking her for walks. She would be someone who would be perfect in so many houses. And then lastly who have maggie. Mag is is an american cocker spaniel mix, who came in through humane Law Enforcement at seven years old. She has glaucoma. It is not serious but will require medical attention. Just a sweet dog. All these animals and so many others. They are there, they are often overlooked because they are older ones. We want a puppy. There are so many reason to get a senior pet. Not the least of which they have, their far calmer. And gentle. Imagine a kitten doing this a kitten by now would have found a potted plant to income over and dog would have been chewing on this box if it were a puppy. This is one of the many reasons that an older pet can be right for so many people. They have been in houses, many of them and most of them, they know their basic commands. You know what else, they are grateful, and people discovered this when they adopt an older pet they are even more grateful then younger ones. They seem to have a sense of who took them out of what is a frightening situation in any shelter and they bond quickly with their owners. Isnt that interesting how pets can sense that and when someone does them harm but when someone takes them in and treats them well. They have unbelievably forgiving natures and that is what you will find out when awe adopt one of these animals that yes, they may have been abandoned that they are sitting at shelter waiting for this family to come back. Family will in the come back. A lot of the families moved on to a new pup that i will be years from now in the shelter as a senior pet. We try to stop that . Next best thing is someone else coming in and i wrote a kid book not a used dog at all. These are not used pets. These are brand new pets for new family and it is just important. Take a look at it. That people understand real significance thaw can bring to these animals lives and that they can bring to your life. So, pepper at 13 years old, very well mannered, like senior pet he is calm, they are relaxing to be around, they are absolutely great they are less destructive and relaxed lifestyle and pepper.
