In this weeks angies list report jim donovan takes a look at sod verse seed so you candy side whiz one is best for your lawn. Reporter good thick lawn always starts with the well prepped base. It is important to prepare soil when are doing sod or seed. So go ahead rake soil and add 2 inches of fresh topsoil or compost so that the sod or seed has good soil to take root in. Reporter sod takes two or three weeks to establish a good root system. It is significantly more expensive than seed so dont waste your investment, water it daily. Keep it wet for a couple weeks. I mean every day, ten minutes a day, two times a day because that helps all of the route are in the top. You dont need to soak the ground. You want it to be in the top layer. Reporter if you are trying for a beautiful green lawn, then sod is your best bet but if you are not in a rush you might wanting to with seed instead. Well, it is fun to see immediate finished product of sod, seed can be a better option in the long term because it has a better root system and it can be cheaper.
