Reporter good morning, jan what a fun morning to be out here, it is beautiful, and we are standing in the middle of a raspberry field and you can see that we have just picked some wonderful blueberries and peaches, and these are fresh off of the vine and i just tasted some. They are amazing. Jan, you have to join news a little bit. But joining me is norman shelf a farmer at linvilla orchard and here to explain more about what we can expect this morning. Today is our blueberry festival. Premiere crop is blueberries but raspberries are at their peak, peaches, we have fishing pond opened, you can enjoy always the animals and we have reporter you have been doing this a very long time. Ha planted, come to life. It is alw labor, it is what this is all about. You plant the plants yo and it l looks green to day we will have a couple thousand peopley will get off wagons and they are getting back on and just the array of beauty of the fruit, it is art, andalkg about how farm to table is so popular and how people love to t vine, take them home, so these are raspberry, what are some tips that you have for picking them. For all of the fruit you want to make sure it is full color when you see full red, but not hard to come off the plant, you want to lean it. This one is darker red, slips right off and then you know it is ready. Same with the peaches, blueberry, all of the fruit fit release easy from the plant that means it will drop soon and it is full flavor, full sugar and you will enjoy it more. Reporter lets take a tour show me which won to pick. Really red won up here if you want to try that or grab one for you and they will slide one right here. Same thing here. But when they are look like this and you can see it doesnt want to come off. It will. But it wont taste as good as these. Those look good. For sure, anything that is green. Get camera a closeup. Look at that, jan. Im a maced. It just wont have flavor if it is green. Heading out this morning, you can. All of this will start at 8 00. It is truly beautiful this morning, which im sure you can see, jan and matt, you guys will need to join news a little bit. It does not get anymore fresher then that, anita, thank you so much. So gorgeous on you the there at linvilla orchard this morning. So peaceful you can hear bird, i even heard some crickets chirping during the break. Would i like to wake up out there, it is a little cooler out there as well. It would be a fantastic start to the day. Yes. We will be having a pretty nice saturday. Good. Overall. We will see some sunshine. We are seeing it, cross most of the Delaware Valley, just to start the day out. We could see maybe a few cloud and this picture from just here in center city atop Library Downtown you can see we definitely have early sunshine but some cloud cover is going to be out there from time to time, maybe a stray, spotty shower as well. Yesterday was a wash out of the day and eyewitness weather watchers had some great pictures as we saw showers and thunderstorms coming in yesterday. I want to take this picture this fridays lynn, from last night, this is a picture of the shelf cloud. Almost a textbook picture something would i see from my meteorologist textbook in college. You can see band nothing there as well and this is what we see when we have a Straight Line of showers, thunderstorms and that is what we had last night. We had that banding of showers , thunderstorm activity that came through, done some rain, and good news it was very quick moving and we didnt see too much in the way of heavy precipitation here in philadelphia but folks up in the Lehigh Valley definitely had a messy day. Temperatures weather watcher wise we are looking at 60s and zero sevens to start the day and it will be warm this afternoon, but at least humidity will be down. Taking you down the shore down to rehoboth taking a look at boardwalk there folks getting an early start on the day, we are doing walking, exercising on the boardwalk, waves against the beach line and it is fantastic day down the shore. Waking up to temperatures right now in the mid 70s. Looking at our shore cast across the region for this afternoon 88 degrees down the shore, amid sun and cloud for us and we cannot rule out a small chance for maybe a shower or an isolated thunder shower, later on toward the evening hours, were talking maybe seven, eight, or 9 00 and it is a clear evening that water temperature started to warm up too we are coming in at 71. I was down the shore around the fourth of july and that water was chilly. I dont know if were quite at 71 yet. Satellite radar boundary out to the west, showers and thunderstorms firing up in western new york. We will see showers, here in the Delaware Valley, it is quiet. We willee moisture off to the north and west and that included cover is not going to c afternoon. Heres our set up throw, within low osend up through thet lakes with the cold front sliding through this evening giving us a, isolated rumble of thunder. Future weather shows light we go through the morning. Better chances backup in the le that very, very light and spotty showers if we do see anything at all so in the a wash out not anything like what we haddon friday morning, future weather tries to bring in afternoon shower activity. I dont see too much in the way of that but as we get to the four or five or 6 00 oclock time frame we will see boundary in the Lehigh Valley and poconos, showers, isolated thunderstorm in the four to 25 or 6 00 oclock time frame for north and west of the area. Seven or 8 00 showers will move into center city and as we get later in the nighttime hours tonight eight or 9 00 we will see a stray shower along the coastline but after that things clear out. It will be a very, very nice night tonight and very good sunday as well. 90 degrees for the High Temperatures. Not as humid but still hot and we are watching for spotty showers. Checking out seven day forecast 85 degrees. High on sunday will be pick of the week, plenty of sunshine low humidity. 88 degrees on monday, late day shower, a possibility and then 90s back in the forecast there tuesday andermaybe a rumbf thunder tuesday, wednesday as well and then thursday, friday , maybe a slimmer chance for some shower activity but still stays hot and still stays muggy, jan. Heres satellite and radar there is not too much across the Delaware Valley but we have set up off to the west with the cold front and that system moves east as we go through the day giving us chance for thunderstorms as we go later tonight. Future weather shows a couple light showers through lancaster, reading, poconos, we will stay dry across center city. As we go through afternoon hours future weather tries to bring in light showers toward philadelphia. Not going to happen. We will stay dry throughout the daytoday but by 5 00 he clock our front comes closer, allentown, mount pocono, back through Lehigh Valley, lancaster we could see isolated thunder, it looks like it moves in the fail area at seven or 8 00 oclock time frame when we are looking for a shower and as we go through later portions of the evening toward overnight we will see that front clear coastline and we are looking for very nice conditions later.
