Reporter brooke and jim, good morning this was a disturbing scene here in norristown, overnight, that man was found shot and killed, his body discover right behind me here in this parking lot of this mcdonalds just off west main street. Body found right there in the drive through lanes. This is the 200 block of west main street and this is mcdonalds connected to the gas station at the corn over west main and 202. Police actually have the entire gas station and restaurant taped off for hours overnight. They have all but cleared out. There is one crew still on the scene here and we are told that they are still conducting interviews. Now earlier this morning you could see they were taking a close look at the that drive through, it is a 24 hour drive through so it was opened at the time this unfolded around 11 30 last night. Norristown police are investigating and they have spoken to employees and Convenient Store owner, there air lot of surveillance cameras here so perhaps Surveillance Video will they in this investigation. Police are the not releasing much information at the this time. They are only saying that they are investigating a shooting at this location and again, that mans body was found around back near that drive through with multiple gunshot wound. And at this time no description of the shuling suspect n leads on that suspect and no motive for that shooting. Police are still investigating. I was able to go inside and talk tome please in there. Norristown police say the man was shot multiple times outside the restaurant on the 200 block of west main street. His body was found near the drive through overnight. Police are currently interviewing witnesses to help with the investigation. And in other news, a pizza delivery man is recovering from an execution style ambush, in southwest philadelphia. Police say the man was approached by two suspects, at 57th and beaumont street monday night. They forced him to drive a few blocks away and robbed him. Then one of the suspects shot the 34 yearold in the back of the head. The victim is in stable condition, at penn Presbyterian Hospital and his two attackers are still at large. Doing really well. Drownings can be under estimated danger. According to the cdc, ten people die every day in the sum are of unintentional drowning. What do we need to be aware of with kid around our pools. That is a staggering statistic. Drowning is leading cause have of Unintentional Injury and death in children one to 14. That risk is higher in young are children, children age one to four years old has highest risk for drowning. What we are talking about today is how to keep kids safe making sure you get your fence up, proper supervision and kid are having a great safe time in the pool. Now doctor jen, when it comes to safety, what are some things we should do. Yes. Okay. Lets go through, first of all make sure you have a good sturdy fence. Great fence here. Make sure that fence is 4 feet high, and that is super important. The it goes around perimeter of the will pool. Also make sure that when you have toys in the water, we have lots of kid playing around, they have got some toys, when you have toys in the water make sure when kids get out of the pool you take the toys with you so that kids are not entice todd jump back in unsupervise todd get those. We also have our adults over here adult supervision is key, adults watching your kid make sure you are not on your phone, reading magazines or doing other things. And finally make sure too, little life jackets, so cute, make sure thaw are using proper life jackets instead of the using things like foam noodles and things like that for life saving purposes. It is really important. Know cpr but really things that will help keep your kid safe. Those kids must be freezing in that water, hypotheria too. Lets talk about germs what steps can we take to prevent water born illnesses. Yes, well, just to tell you, i think they are cold but i said, they are having fun too. There is a lot of things we can do to prevent germs in the water. The first thing if you are sick i dont want you in the pool. Vomiting, diarrhea, illness, upper respiratory infection, stay out of the water. Second thing a parent we dont want your kid going to the the bathroom in the pool. So, take them for frequent bathroom breaks. This is super important. You have little ones, change their diapers frequently. Also make sure you you are checking chlorine levels in your pool as well. All of those things will help. How about shower before you get in the pool. Any other advice you you have for parents, doctor jen. Well, i think biggest thing ace dult supervision quite honestly is one of the biggest things. As a Family Doctor i see people coming in with swimmers ear in the summertime. One thing to do at home to prevent that is make sure you keep ears dry or use ear plugs, because it that is frequent moisture that will cause swimmers ear. Little tip that might help for the summer.
