What do people expect when they come in here. People can expect a hundred years of fashion from 1896 to about 1993. Each platform is arranged cross decade. So we go from on the fives instead of on the tens. Platform behind me is mid 1940s to mid 1950s. I love jacket in the middle. Im a big fan of the long jacket. That is one of my favorite pieces in the show, it is one of the drexel collection as well. That is ultimate local pieces we have in the show. The fabric of the jacket is made out of, was made in north philadelphia, at the philadelphia mill by a polish designer, stodt living in philadelphia a it was designed by irene ford which was a high end designer, department store, in philadelphia, and made exclusively for the store. It was made in and sold and worn in philadelphia. The trifecta. We have a beautiful blue suit, right here, the suit is 1948 and it is really, dior and it was sold at saks fifth avenue in new york and brought back into philadelphia and really a good example of the new look by dior. It is interesting. Sometimes you think of going to insuring to find these fashion houses but they were often sold here in philadelphia as well. That is right, absolutely, really long history of philadelphia having an Exceptional Group of dress makers but also Department Stores and designers working in the city. This pink dress is one of the show stoppers, in the exhibition. It was by a really high end, paris fashion house in the 19, teenss and 20s. It was worn by drexel, who was a philadelphia socialite with an exceptional sense of fashion but this dress is still very delicate.
