Reporter the executive chef jennifer doesnt mix word. For us, this was, this was nothing. It would have been better if we would have closed. Reporter she said workers at the her olde city restaurant prepared for the crowds, even renting this military grade refrigerator but her staff served less than 10 percent of the patrons they do on a normal weekend. We had no foot traffic down here, nothing. It was a dead zone all weekend long. Reporter now extra food that she has in storage could all go bad. I absolutely have to be donating food. Would i rather not have our food spoil and give to it people that need it. I dont want to see any product go to waste. Better to give back to the community that does need it. It is interesting when you see straight above you see blue skies. Looking to the east, blue skies. Looking to the west im seeing dark cloud, low clouds and some rain shadows in the distance. A few showers have popped up across the area they are light and they are spotty but if we zoom into Delaware County you can see what im seeing in the distance, a few showers, that have popped up, over portions of delco, portions of Chester County as well and we are seeing a lit built of steady rain with these showers. Not heavy at the moment but just off even into portions of west virginia, seeing the the chance for a few showers here and there so, dont be shocked if you need windshield wipers outside for tonight. Were looking at temperatures, well above what we felt over the weekend. In fact it is still 80 degrees in philadelphia it is 78 degrees in allentown. A Home Invasion murder leaves a local community stunned and that is as the details coming out many are wondering was the family targeted. Eyewitness News Reporter diana rocco is live in lower moreland with more on the investigation. Reporter this all happened this family was getting ready to go to bed last night. Tonight police ruled this a homicide and said that they were targeted, although they wont say why. Tonight the family is in mourning, over the loss of a father and husband, and a search for a gunman is on. Police are investigating a Home Invasion that killed a husband and father of three. Investigators say that sunday night a gunman entered this home just after 11 00 oclock on philmont avenue in lower moreland township firing on kevin brown, who was upstairs, in the master bedroom. Brown and his wife, both jumped out of a second story window but five threeyear old brown was shot in the neck and then later pronounced dead at abington memorial hospital. Browns three children, youngest just 17 years old hidden side the house, when they heard the gun shots. It appears that the gunman, fled on foot. We did speak with the victims brother a short time ago at the residents he said they are obviously shocked and in mourning tonight. They are still being interviewed by police. It is not known just how many suspects police are looking for, and this is all still under investigation. We are live from lower moreland township, im diana rocco for cbs3 Eyewitness News. A teenager has died in the tacony neighborhood of philadelphia after police say he was pinned under a forklift at a local business. Now his family is demanding answers. Eyewitness News Reporter Steve Paterson has that story. Reporter grief, anger. Im hurt. Im angry. Im upset. He was only three. Reporter john grogan says that there is plenty of both emotions but that the a anger is stronger. Grogan believe that his nephew 13 yearold ethan shoemaker was killed because of negligence, not mischief. There has got to be something, some precaution, some safety precaution to keep kid out of there and not honor riding equipment. Reporter police say ethan and five friend broke into this warehouse owned by paper manufacturer newman and company. One of the teens tells cbs3 they peeled back a rusted opening in this fence at 9 00 sunday night and slipped through an unlock door. The teen says the keys were in four forklifts and that the kid drove around until a 13 yearold girl smashed hers into ethans. We just want answers. We just want to know what happened. Reporter the 14 yearold boy you are about to hear said he operated one of those forklifts and this isnt the first time kid have broken in but now he hopes it is the the last. He swerves and the the forklift tipped over and his hand got cut right here near the the bar. Reporter you saw that. Yeah, i saw it. Reporter ethans family still searching for their own answers, believe it is something that isnt done it could easily happen again. That will show, it need to be secure and safe. I wish i was just, to see him one more time, play with him one more time. Reporter in response to the the sadness and anger from the family the the new man Paper Company released a statement to cbs3 saying we are saddened by the loss of this young mans life and offer our condolences to the family. This matter is part of an Ongoing Investigation with the Philadelphia Police department, and again, Philadelphia Police do continue to investigate as the family continues their search for answers. That is right, yesterday and all throughout his visit in new york, washington, here in philadelphia, we saw dozens of babies being taken up to the pope mobile so pope francis could kiss them on their head. It has become a tradition for so many. There was one baby that did not get a chance to be blessed by the pope but he and his parents have quite a story to tell. Health reporter Stephanie Stahl is here to tell us about a new baby name after pope francis. Reporter of course. Talk about a special delivery, it happened during the papal mass yesterday. The proud parents have a special connection to pope francis and now, so does their baby boy. It is definitely a blessing. Reporter erin, was in the dude until october 12th but her baby boy arrived early on the day pope francis said mass, in philadelphia a. It turns out it is a special day for erin and her husband, jim. On the exact anniversary of our wedding, our son was born. Reporter talk about timing and there is more. For their wedding on december 27th the couple got a papal blessing for their marriage from pope francis. It was just, a little uncanny that he came, exactly nine months after that day. Reporter erin and jim are devout catholics and were watching the mass when the baby was born. At 6 27 sunday night. When he came out we knew he would have to put francis in his name, so we decided to name him james francis. Reporter frances being the pope who blessed their marriage exactly nine months before the the baby was born, and the pope was in philadelphia at the time. It is not a coincidence, it is definitely gods plan. Reporter so instead of the naming baby what they planned james paul they switched his middle name to francis. He looked like anybody just yet. I think he has my nose. I hope he looks more like mom then me. Reporter get this, labor and delivery nurse at bryn mawr hospital who helped Jimmy Francis come in the world switched schedules so collogue could attend a mass and erins sister and mom were at the mass when the baby was born. This definitely has to be divine intervention here. Isnt that amazing. Reporter nurse nancy says 27 will be the babys lucky number, his birthday, the the parents anniversary, and the time that he was born, weighing by the way 6pound, 13 ounces. How about that. We have different weather each day, start out warm, finishing cold but we have rain in the forecast for tomorrow night that could be heavy and another round of heavy rain by the weekend. I felt a few sprinkles outside this morning but a afternoon, saw some sun and new showers are popping up. You can see over pourings of Delaware County, Chester County and right now trying to make their way in portions of west philadelphia, university city, upper darby right along route three there slowing things down traveling maybe heading home there work this evening.
