Reporter Eyewitness News has learned that at some point the commander on the scene told Fire Fighters to leave but craiglewis never made it out. We conduct first aid, cpr on the scene and in route to the hospital, and upon arrival to the hospital, she was pronounced. Reporter there will be a full investigation into her death but family and friend say craiglewis knew risks, loved saving peoples lives and died doing just that. Im sure that she was aware of the danger of being a fire fighter and he took that job on. Reporter and her service is a reminder to philadelphians, why Fire Fighters are calling the citys bravees canned unless craiglewiss honor still burn brightly at the station here in lawncrest. This is where that 11 year veteran of the philadelphia Fire Department joyce craiglewis called home away from home, this morning, her loved ones, her fire fighter family and this community deals with her death and many came here last night to remember her life. This was a vigil held in her honor where collogues spoke of the Fire Fighters dedication and complete strangers prayed for her family.
