I two suspect are in custody but just learned authorities are searching for a third. Eyewitness News Reporter jan carabeo live at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where the officer is recovering. Jan . Reporter jim, brooke, good morning, thats right. You have said it. Two people are in custody this morning, and now Philadelphia Police say they are searching for a third suspect involved in last nights altercation. Meanwhile behind me here at penn Presbyterian Hospital this morning, we are told that officer is in stable condition, he lost a lot of blood but he is expected to be okay. Take a look at the video. This officer was shot last night around 9 00 near the intersection of 59th and Market Street in west philadelphia. It all started when a woman flagged down 24 year old officer James Mccullough and his partner. She told them two men were trying to steel her car. Now, as the officers approached, the two suspect got out that far car and took off. Police say officer mccullough tackled one of the men and was immediately shot in the leg. Now, as that suspect ran away. Police say officer mccullough returned fire, shooting three times, and those two suspect were eventually caught by other officers, officer mccullough, meanwhile, helped save his own life. Take a listen. It is important to point out that he applied a tourniquet himself because he was bleeding profusely, and his partner went to his aid and brought him to the hospital. It is a dangerous city. Dangerous city, a loft guns out there, so got to get the guns off the street make sure that our officers are safe, our student are safe, so were in good shape. Now, officer mccullough has been with the Philadelphia Police department for two years now, he has two year old daughter and hes also engaged to be married. This is the suspect, 31 year old richard bar, jr. , according to police, bart and another suspect robbed a man near seventh and cherry street, Police Chased the suspect and found them near east avenue and almond street.
