Reporter chris police here contend the driver had a callus disregard for everyone else as he sped down this section of chester pike at a high rate of speed. Police scanner traffic moments before impact indicate the suspect fled when an officer tried to pull him over. Devastating head on collision that occurred later could be heard throughout the neighborhood. Just horrific scene. Reporter this picture taken mommy aft the crash shows smoke coming out of the White Nissan Altima police were chasing. That driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency crews had to cut away a second mangled car get the other drive out. Barbara davis says her daughter heard the crash. She saw the Police Officer get out of his car and like point the gun to the white car to tell the person to stop and freeze or whatever. But i guess he realized he was all right deceased and he put the gun down. Reporter the driver in the altima was heading southbound on chester pike at a high rate of speed after fulcroft police tried to pull him over for a Motor Vehicle violation around 4 00 monday afternoon. Fulcroft police say the officer pulled back from the chase when the driver sped up. Moments later he collided head on with autopoint yank yack grand am. The crash happened right in front of the glenn olden fire company. I her the whistles going off. I heard a loud bank and saw the scene at the corner. Cars everywhere. Police came out with guns drawn. Reporter fulcroft police attempted to pull the driver over near fulcroft avenue in chester pike. The crash occurred less than mile away in glenn olden. And that other driver is in Critical Condition tonight. No names have been released in the meantime police here are crest investigateing to term if that white all the ma may have been stolen or if that were stolen items inside. Some of those who knew little Matthew Mccloskey best opened up about their loss. Heres our david spunt. People have been coming by tonight to remember the 10yearold who friends and family say left us too soon. 24 hours after 10yearold Matthew Mccloskey was hit and killed friends and family members met at two memorials across delsea drive to grieve. He was a very polite boy. Very good loving boy. He was my grandsons best friend. Both of the boys. Diane hires two grandsons were mc kloss can he when Franklin Township Police Say One of their own hit and killed the 10yearold. Police say the Police Officer was answering a 911 call. Best kid in the world. Just wondering why things like this happen. He was a baby. 10 years old. Reporter one of dianes grandson was with her at the memorial. 12 year old brandon told us matthew was his best friend and hes devastated about what happened. He was too upset to finish the interview. Police spent hours on scene sunday night trying to piece together evidence authorities are still investigateing how officer didnt see the 10yearold crossing the street. Well a flight returns to Philadelphia International airport for an Emergency Landing just moments after take off. Parents and teachers at a Northern Liberties Charter School are stunned to learn they will not be returning to class after the holidays. Officials from the walter d. Palmer Leadership Partners Charter School mailed letters this weekend saying the school would close its doors december 31. It is reportedly unable to afford its 250,000 in monthly operating costs.
