Continuing coverage a former iowa correctional officer who smuggled contraband for prisoners and illegally used drugs while on duty is sentenced to more than four years in prison. 29yearold garrett barton, of anamosa, pleading guilty to multiple charges. Barton admitting in a plea agreement to accepting money from an inmate to smuggle two cell phones for inmates to use at the anamosa state penitentiary. He also sold and traded drugs with other correctional officers. Along with 57 months in prison, barton was fined 7,500. One person is taken to the hospital after a stabbing.
