It would be up to state lawmakers to determine which pesticides are safe, and lawmakers are considering a plan on that. It would require the state to create a list of pesticides that are okay to use on pot. Here too. State Health Officials have recalled Marijuana Plants that were contaminated with pesticides. The national Highway Traffic Safety Administration is finding a new strategy to try and reduce those numbers. 9news reporter Colleen Ferreira sat down for an exclusive tv interview with the administrator of the organization. Colleen, theyre trying to change human behavior. They say that could help save lives. Exactly, they say they can go beyond educating the driver, go beyond the root of the problem here. They have to do something. In 2013, more than 32,000 people across the country died in car crashes on the roadway. They they most of the accidents could have been prevented. Your number one safety tool is wear a seat belt. 179 people in colorado died wearing a seat belt. The national highway Safety Administration says were the root of the problem. When we do the analysis, 94 . The last critical reason before a crash, 99 are due to the human. Out of the 95 fatal crashes, 179 of them had to do with people not wearing seat belts. Another 179 were alcohol related. 104 were motorcycle fatalities. 68 of all of these accidents were caused by destructive driving, and several of them actually involved drowsy or drunk driving. Theyre now working with communities all over the country in summits just like this one in colorado. I hope weve identified a choices. It all came to a head this week when allen was arrested. Hes accused of taking one syringe of a narcotic. Investigators say he took it from the hospital and replaced it with something else. They have not said what. But the accusation means he may have put many patients at risk for hiv, hepatitis b and c. We know that at least one of the patients have tested positive though, that the person contracted it from this incident, but its a possibility. Theyve charged him by obtaining a controlled substance by deceit and tamp perking with a tampering with a consumer product. He was arrested on tuesday. Today hell appear in court for an arraignment. Well find out if a judge decides to issue bond for him in this case. Now, allen could enter a plea. If someone ends up dying, allen could face life in prison. At minimum, he could face a fine up to 250,000. Its 6 35 right now. A man involved in the fatal beating and stabbing of a woman in fort collins will spend the next 50 years behind bars. Patrick canon was sentenced yesterday on charges of Second Degree murder and first degree he went to her house in 2014. She was kidnapped and beaten and then driven to rural Larimer County where her body was later found. The man accused of killing his exwife and leaving her in a burning home is due in court today. 58yearold andrew osmus was found in october. They found his wifes burning inside her home.
