Funeral announcements that you see every day some of these people are paying 2 or $300.00 because of the length of the announcements and of course my attitude always has been when somebody dies it's a it's a news item therefore now we do have a policy here and so the funeral homes don't like this policy of term radio we've got a lot of fine funeral homes who advertise with us and our policy with those funeral homes is that we run their funeral announcements on our obituary report on our funeral report and we've got some other funeral homes that don't even buy a Christmas greeting on this radio station in other words you know if it costs me money to send people to the school board meetings in the corn court meetings to provide all of the services that we provide we'll be doing the Christmas parade tonight ballgames at Huntsville So we've got a higher I'm going to pay you people who go out there and do these things that's right and up and so but and then when you have a funeral home that doesn't want even spend a dime with you but they they expect you to run their funeral announcements you know that it's a that's a one way street in the Colonel's mind so my policy is we run funerals for the funeral not to much for the funeral homes that advertise with this radio station we've got many many great funeral homes that do that in the ones that don't they we don't run their lessons so in this case this gentleman was not told by the funeral home $50.00 to get in the newspaper he didn't want it in the newspaper he wanted it and they said we're not going to put it on current radio so he comes into the radio station and purchases some so announcements and I called him yesterday when I came back to the station and found out about this I called him and I said. We will reverse the charges that you paid or we will issue you a a check to to refund your money because when an when a listener of this radio station passes away and her family brings the funeral announcement to the radio station we're going to run that we were not going to charge after that family he got but I did want people to know about the policy on funeral homes and no matter what these funeral homes tell you. You know they they may think it's it's appropriate for them to spend no money with us and buy no advertising with us but that they expect us to run their funeral announcements you know my recommendation is to is to utilize funeral homes that that are a little more friendly to the radio station you know we've got a lot of the great funeral homes out here that do that but that's the story here on this and I don't want to make a big to do about it but again when you see these obituaries in the newspaper just know that the loved ones are coughing up a lot of money to get that in there so the funeral home just tack it on to their bill currently Well we always announce the funerals here in the settlement and that's no charge at that funeral home advertises with us where your loved ones be and take care of will raid Yeah just up like I say use the funeral home yes you hear own car radio and stores that goes.
