News special reports we have a new snapshot of the economy the jobs numbers have just come in for last month live to c.b.s. News business analyst just less injure these reported numbers are much higher than expected 266000 jobs in November previous months were revised higher you know economists were only expecting about 180000 so even though some of these jobs $45000.00 were g.m. Workers coming back still a strong showing and the unemployment rate dropped to a 50 year low of 3 and a half percent have we seen any evidence the u.s. China trade war is affecting the numbers well we would look in the manufacturing industry and you know after gaining ground last year jobs in the sector have indeed started to really stall out in the last 6 months or so in fact we see the average hours worked in the manufacturing sector falling to the lowest level in 8 years still overall an incredibly strong report from the Labor Department c.b.s. News Special Report I'm Deborah Broderick All right Deborah thank you Deborah Rodriguez in with our report this morning from c.b.s. . Saturday night are good so razorback. Mascot ball take their own bait and record Joe Western Kentucky Saturday right back co-chair mouse home and previews the game ready for a big road test and. Obviously they're really talented team you know you start off talking about their team talking about the inside play Abassi number 23 at the 5 spot and then their power forward 22 Williams And and obviously the number 11 Hollingsworth at the points a confident scoring guy and number 5 of the off guards a really good score that you can't give air space to as a transfer and then Savage It's a small forward number 2 and. Anderson's played really well Number 4 off the bench for him so it's kind of what we're looking at from a roster standpoint of Western Kentucky. Last year and bassy have like 21 points 9 rebounds 5 blocks that was against another really big man you guys don't really have any way I. Guess. The game plan for trying to handle. It seems like by far the best big guy you guys are faced with Joe you know obviously you know the big kid at Georgia Tech 7 a really good year so far and and. You know but but bassy you know creates a lot of problems inside because of his size and he runs the floor really well and coach stands ready does a great job of getting getting the ball to him. You know we got a couple days we're able to work on some things like post traps that we really haven't done much of that this year. You know we're going to try to throw the ball in the bassy 23 and 22 Williams. Both those guys and so we've got to be prepared for that. They won't run a 131 after timeouts so we've got to continually alert our guys to their to their 131 after time outs and we did get some good looks at a 131 because Georgia Tech played it at times so we've we've we've added 3 different often subsets against the 131 that will hopefully give us. You know our guys understand where the windows are in that thing and then they're a great shot blocking team to so. That to 48 in the country in shots blocked with 3 guys primaries or shot blockers like you mentioned bassy having 5 last year so there are some things often simply that you've got to do against shot blockers that I thought we did a really good job at Georgia Tech. You know such a good shot blocking team as well so. But yeah he's you know he's a great player and obviously had a big game against a team that's a little bit bigger than we are right now and in last year's Arkansas team and you know we've got a got to try to focus on him. Camp Bob for the game the hog game sales are 30 at a dental and Rayna mulling grain. Hear about one of our devoted listeners who was a part of this radio station audience every day passing away and here's the information on that service 84 year old alpha Rachel Nickell of Rogers passed away on November 25th 200-1000 circle of life hospice in Springdale Arkansas she was born on April 16th 1035 and led by in Missouri She is survived by her only child James Stephen Lyons of Rogers her sister I'm a gene Williams of Independence Missouri and her brother Matt Thompson a Buffalo Missouri along with numerous nieces nephews in laws and friends she was preceded in death by her parents Leslie Lee Thompson and Jessie Mae Thompson Tucker of lead mine Missouri husbands James Dewey Lyons and Dale are Nichelle of Rogers brothers Melvin Ethan and Eugene Thompson of Buffalo Missouri and Sister Josephine Lockhart of Independence Missouri she worked at crane company in Rogers for about 30 years she enjoyed traveling talking to her friends and spending time with her dogs and cats she was an active listener of Kerman radio a memorial service will take place at a later time please call Steve at 479-544-6313 extension 4 further information you know Tommy wanted to add this one note here and people have heard me criticize the newspaper in the past for charging for funeral announcements when somebody dies you know it's a it's a news item don't think it really is think so and say what happened here is this is typical of the of the newspaper. This gentleman was told by the paper by the funeral home I put it that way not the paper but the funeral home. Char. G m $50.00 to get the obituary run in the newspaper because these these. Funeral announcements that you see every day some of these people are paying 2 or $300.00 because of the length of the announcements and of course my attitude always has been when somebody dies it's a it's a news item therefore now we do have a policy here and so the funeral homes don't like this policy of term radio we've got a lot of fine funeral homes who advertise with us and our policy with those funeral homes is that we run their funeral announcements on our obituary report on our funeral report and we've got some other funeral homes that don't even buy a Christmas greeting on this radio station in other words you know if it costs me money to send people to the school board meetings in the corn court meetings to provide all of the services that we provide we'll be doing the Christmas parade tonight ballgames at Huntsville So we've got a higher I'm going to pay you people who go out there and do these things that's right and up and so but and then when you have a funeral home that doesn't want even spend a dime with you but they they expect you to run their funeral announcements you know that it's a that's a one way street in the Colonel's mind so my policy is we run funerals for the funeral not to much for the funeral homes that advertise with this radio station we've got many many great funeral homes that do that in the ones that don't they we don't run their lessons so in this case this gentleman was not told by the funeral home $50.00 to get in the newspaper he didn't want it in the newspaper he wanted it and they said we're not going to put it on current radio so he comes into the radio station and purchases some so announcements and I called him yesterday when I came back to the station and found out about this I called him and I said. We will reverse the charges that you paid or we will issue you a a check to to refund your money because when an when a listener of this radio station passes away and her family brings the funeral announcement to the radio station we're going to run that we were not going to charge after that family he got but I did want people to know about the policy on funeral homes and no matter what these funeral homes tell you. You know they they may think it's it's appropriate for them to spend no money with us and buy no advertising with us but that they expect us to run their funeral announcements you know my recommendation is to is to utilize funeral homes that that are a little more friendly to the radio station you know we've got a lot of the great funeral homes out here that do that but that's the story here on this and I don't want to make a big to do about it but again when you see these obituaries in the newspaper just know that the loved ones are coughing up a lot of money to get that in there so the funeral home just tack it on to their bill currently Well we always announce the funerals here in the settlement and that's no charge at that funeral home advertises with us where your loved ones be and take care of will raid Yeah just up like I say use the funeral home yes you hear own car radio and stores that goes.
