Old son is behind bars accused of killing his own mother. Santa clara sheriff investigators say matthew saduski attacked his own mother. New details from ktvu Azenith Smith who joins us from gilroy with how she is being remembered. She spent a lot of time volunteering here. In fact she was a big time historian and even wrote a book about gilroys roots. She was a goto person for historical information. She has known her for more than 35 years, nothing, but fond memories of her friends calling the community contributor. Someone she could count on, the sudden passing is a complete shock. Authorities say around 11 00 morning, Christmas Day family members called 911 when deputies got there they found the 70yearold in distress, suffering from severe head drama. Her son 39yearold Matthew Salewske attacked his mother. She was really one of the nicest ladies. Salute E Vita Ristorante we assumed it had something to do with the son peedly. Being remembered as an active church goer at the gilroy methodist church. Now retired, she has a long career as an educator, teaching english. Then at san jose state university, they issued a statement tonight expressing condolences. The Vice President writing, i understand she was a valued colleague and friend to many at san jose state. We are following a developing story out of oakland where police are searching for a suspect with an active arrest warrant. Officers spent much of the evening scouring the area near the mcarthur bart station before moving on to Martin Luther king jr. Way and 39th street. Investigators say the suspect is wanted in connection for the crime, but because of an investigation, the investigation remains open. Police did not provide further information. The marine is now raising money for his funeral. 239yearold was killed last night on humboldt avenue in oakland. He was shot several times. Investigators have not revealed a possible motive. Attending Hayward High School serving in the marines. He recently enrolled in college, but dropped out after his father was diagnosed with cancer. His death is the citys 83rd homicide of the year. Last year oakland had 92 homicides, mayor libby schaaf says Violent Crime has declined by about 5 from last year including murder, robbery, and rape. The mayor credits the hiring of more Police Officers and the continuing gang reduction effort of operation cease fire. A San Francisco judge refused to police Union Request to blocking the new use of force policy. The Police Officers association filed a lawsuit on december 20 to reopen negotiations on the policy and requested a temporary injunction to stop their implementation. The poa says the ban on shooting at vehicles, it will jeopardize their safety. But the policy was hammered out during a year of negotiating. The judge says the poa has little chance of winning its case in court. A man working at the versace outlet in livermore has filed a discrimination lawsuit. As ktvu Paul Chambers tells us the employee claims he was taught to use a special code when black shoppers entered the store. Reporter this Versace Store located in the Premium Outlet is where a 23yearold man named Christopher Sampino worked filing a 30page complaint saying while undergoing training he was taught to discriminate against African Americans. This is the customer, if they come into the store and also a nonverbal code where the employee would tug on a clothing. The verbal code was d410 and taught to use it when entering the store. He is a quarter African American and claims he was terminated after working there less than a month. But when asked why he was being terminated, the complaint states he was not let go because of their performance reasons, but for quotes, he doesnt understand luxuries. Because he doesnt understand the life, which his lawyers believe it is also code for Racial Discrimination lawsuit. Given the code they would have for a black customer coming into the store, it doesnt take much of a logical leap to assume that you havent lived the luxury life is code for we dont want an African American employee. And our client was terminated. When asked about their policy, the lawyer says it was too soon to tell and as a part of their investigation they will find out. We could connect it to at least one level of the hierarchy to that level. Oftentimes connecting it to the top. Family and friends are remembering a multitalented actress Carrie Fisher who died this morning hospitalized after suffering a heart attack from a flight towards los angeles. Investigators say they have been checking local Emergency Rooms and hospitals, but so far no one has shown up with a gunshot wound. We cant hold a newspaper accountable or television accountable when a story is brought, which might spark an idea for a criminal. Caltran Officials Say the man was trespassing on the tracks near howard avenue hit by a northbound train around 2 30 this afternoon. Bus shuttles took passengers around the scene until the southbound track reopened, allowing trains to resume surface on the single track. This is the third fatality involving a caltran in a little more than a week and the fourth for the year. Slightly warmer as we pointed out to make for the beautiful sunset this evening. It is clear out there right now for the most part and the winds are pretty light and it is pretty darn cool. There will be frost in those inland valleys.
