Right now, crews are still working to remove it without causing further damage. A crane operator was replacing power poles. Our reporter has more information from campbell, and they are making progress tonight. Some good news, in the last few minutes they did manage to retract that crane. Behind me they have the other cranes still trying to support what remains of it. This was a very long process. They were trying they were trying to retract this manually all while under the watch of investigators. They are thin instead of having electronics do this. They are doing everything manually and retracting each section individually. We wanted to make sure they could take those pictures and get an investigator on the scene. We did check the state records. This is not the first time they have investigated this service. For residents, it has been a very long night after a very close call. The crane had been fully extended 190 feet in the air. It suddenly toppled over before noon on tuesday, crashing down on a house and several other structures. One woman heard it hitting her property. It was a loud crash like i had never heard before. It reached a house and a storage shed one three over and that family was shocked to see it collapsed across the yard, and a narrow escape. Fate was in their favor. It was shocking to see the damage. It was supposed to be routine. And amazingly, there were no injuries, the damage was to a single house and a pair of sheds, as well as a fence. We are working to make sure these homes are safe. The cream the Company Crews say it was an equipment malfunction. They said it was a hydraulic issue, not an operator issue. I did check records and found a pair of investigations within the last few years involving king crane service. They are working on our request to get more details. And they are trying to wrap this up, they are going to put that crane onto a flat bed and remove it from the neighborhood. I did get an update from the fire chief. That fire chief says that every resident has been cleared to go back home to nights. They are just hoping to monitor the area until every piece of equipment is removed. They hope to reopen the streets. Has anyone heard from the family lives in that damaged home . We did speak to a pair of the homeowners impacted by this. And there was one woman in the house where it had hit the roof. We have not been able to talk to her tonight. But it has been a long day. It happened at noon and we are now at 11 00. It has been exhausting for some neighbors who just want this to be over, they want to get back to routine. And they could be back out on another day. Im sure there will be some very nerveracking moments this weekend. A homicide investigation, police are asking for public help as they search for the killer of a woman from hollister. Lisa hall died of a gunshot wound after she had been taken to Hazel Hawkins hospital. A man dropped her off but did not provide any information to the hospital staff. She had been socializing with another man downtown last night. When this is spotted that a midnight, and a dark blue pickup truck with a camper shell. And Police Executed Search warrants and arrests, and as for criminal activity they were cracking down on, none of the agencies have revealed that to us just yet. Homeowners were awakened this morning by a loud noise. I heard what sounded like a percussion grenade. It scared me. A News Conference is set for thursday morning. We will be able to learn how many were arrested at that time. Three Police Officers involved in a fatal shooting, cleared of any wrongdoing. The District Attorneys Office ruled today that the officers were justified in the use of lethal force, in the shooting of the 59yearold. And the officers were responding to a disturbance call when they spotted him with a shotgun in his hand. He ignored commands to drop his weapon before they shot and killed him. Google is holding a town hall meeting on thursday to discuss diversity following a controversy with a Google Engineer who was fired for perpetuating gender stereotypes. In an internal memo, he criticized the Diversity Program and asserted that men and women have different biological traits, which traits, which accounts for why women make up 30 of the google work for us. He also suggested that women are neurotic and have low tolerance for stress. And he is no exploring his legal options. San diego leaders are debating a plan to build housing for teachers. And they are considering a request to turn one bought into apartments just for teachers. And we have the latest from that meeting tonight. Currently it is under zoning for commercial use. Teachers would pay 2000 per month. House for rent and the other half toward a down payment. They make too much income to qualify for the current housing, but they will never make enough to save up a down payment to purchase a house when a Median Income house is 1. 5 million. Some City Council Members argue the need to preserve commercial order for dogs provoked we lost 2300 acres over 15 years of conversions. That has brought our revenues down for taxes. And some say it is a bad precedent. She would like to maintain commercial space without tax losses. Some neighbors are concerned with traffic, traffic, privacy, as well as parking. There will not be enough parking for owners and customers, employees and residents. Public comment just came to an end. The majority are in favor of this project. They were saying that it is a great opportunity to deal with the housing crisis and keep teachers here. I heard one person speak against it and she is concerned that this will affect the character of the neighborhood. I have been told it will be a very close call. If approved, the Property Owner plans to build within the next six months. If denied, she plans to take it up with the state legislature. That is what the city is working on, and working with the Property Owner, to see if there are other properties that this project can take on. Police in the east bay announced the arrest of an arsonist accused of setting the east bay fire, and investigators say he used a cigarette lighter to start a grizzly peak fire on wednesday afternoon. That a fire burns 28 acres and took several days to control. He was linked to the fire after being arrested for a road rage incident in that same area. A driver told us what happened. I got away from him but he rearended me multiple times until i lost control of my car. The suspect also pointed a rifle a rifle at her. He pled not guilty and he is being held on 300,000 bail. Police are searching for a killer who gunned down the owner of a liquor store during a robbery attempt. It happened in east san jose. Our reporter spoke with the family and with loyal customers. I had to come over today. It was terrible. Leslie davis and dozens of others felt compelled to come to a story they had visited before. And memorial of flowers and candles sits on the ground not far from where charlie was gunned down late monday night. He was shot in cold blood. Family members say that man rushed into the store as lee was taking a nap. He demanded money and threatened the mans wife. Lee refused to open the register. He is small but tough. He will not back down at all. And i heard he would not open a register, i said yep, that is him. Lee was shot and killed. He lost his life. His wife was right there to see him pass like that. The suspect ran off, sparking a police search. We talked to people in the area. They are currently conducting followup investigations. Neighbors, customers and workers in this stripmall continue to pay respects to a father of four who was killed defending his business and his wife from harm. And credible leads can bring them to the guilty party. A new bike sharing company officially launched services today, unveiling bikes in south san francisco. The Company Plans to have 300 bicycles on the streets by next week. They are different than other Bike Sharing Companies as they do not require racks or docking stations.
