Crews continued to put out hot spots and worry about the unstable crane that looms overhead. Theyre bringing in heavy equipment tonight, and will dismantle parted scaffolding part of the scaffolded tomorrow. Reporter investigators need to secure the scene so they can figure out what caused the 186 Housing Units to go up in flames. Officials say the structure was expected to open in march of next year bringing a small relief to the housing crunch in oakland. Officials say the fire is just a minor set back and the city plans to move forward. The contractor and developer will take the structure down. So test the integrity of the foundation and begin to rebuild. This is a loss for our city, and for this region right now.
