They are getting stopped right here at Pleasant Valley road as fire crews continue to battle that fire in the rugged hills behind us. Water drops by air are key to helping cal fire ground crews get the upper hand on the monticello fire burning southeast of lake we arest is a. The closure of state highway 128 at Pleasant Valley road the forcing boaters to is forcing boaters to pull over and turn arnold. We drove an hour and a half and now we got a roadblock. Reporter josh and desiree from danville planned for a day on the water at the pleasure cove marina. When we have called they said it was just smoke and it shouldnt be a problem. Reporter but the fire is a problem at monticello and already charged 7,000 ache charred 7,000 acres prompting bay area strike teams from the counties to join the fight. Without them, it would be very challenging. Reporter cal fire captain says the fire is 30 contained and mandatory evacuations in the golden bear estates remain in effect. The fire broke out friday night on the solano, yea pa and yolo napa and yolo county lines. Very difficult access to get to but combined with the triple digit figures, low humidity, its making it a very challenging environment for firefighters to work aggressively all day and all night. Reporter cal fire says the amount of fire activity theyve seen to date has increased by 70 since last year. Fire reassesses the [ inaudible ] that was christina ran done reporting and they are getting the upper hand on the other big fire near the lake. The butts fire is burning in napa and lake counties and the cal fire website says it is now about 80 contained. The fire began last tuesday and has burned across 4300 acres. Two homes and seven outbuildings have been destroyed and four people have reported minor injuries. At this point, all evacuation orders and road closures have been lifted. The cause of that fire remains under investigation. One person is under arrest after three people were shot just this morning during the hollister rally motorcycle event. The Hollister Police chief said he suspects two rival biker clubs were involved. That shooting happened around 10 30 this morning at a gas station on the outskirts of hollister just south of san jose. When Police Arrived on the scene, they found three people with gunshot wounds and one person who had been assaulted. Police are not releasing any information on the condition of those victims. Police say they are still looking for more suspects. And police are investigating a shooting outside the hayward b. A. R. T. Station. It happened just before 10 30 last night at the stations bus zone. Police say a man walked inside the station after being shot. Investigators say the mans injuries are not life threatening and so far, police have not made any arrests. A san rafael man is behind bars accused of sexually abusing a girl over the span of three years. 37yearold Arturo Hernandez was arrested in novato this morning for child molies station. He was the molestation. He was the subject of an Ongoing Investigation after Police Received information that he was allegedly abusing a girl under the age of 16. Authorities believe that abuse started while hernandez was living in the victims home when she was 13 years old. Police say hernandez was on his way to meet with the young victim at the time of his arrest today. Today marks one year since the Asiana Airlines crash at sfo. Flight 214 was attempting to land when it clipped the seawall. Three teenaged girls from china were killed and nearly 200 other people were hurt. Two weeks ago, the National Transportation safety board ruled that the pilots failed to monitor their speed and relied too much on the planes flight system which they did not fully understand. The ntsb recommended that the airline provide more training for pilots and that boeing create an operational manual that is easier to understand. Investigators say San Francisco First Responders also failed to check to see if one of the victims was still alive after the crash. She was killed when two fire trucks ran over her. Now the families of the three victims along with survivors of the crash have filed lawsuits against asiana and boeing. Survivors say the skies were clear and they are still shocked that the plane missed the runway. One teenaged survivor remembers passengers bouncing throughout the cabin and dust everywhere. She says she was terrified until the plane finally came to a stop. Government workers in the east bay are rushing to retire before new rules affecting their pensions take effect on friday. The San Jose Mercury news reports that at least 85 contra costa workers including firefighters and the countys chief planner plan to resign in coming days. At least 12 retirements are expected in the Alameda County sheriffs office. The retirements come after a court ruling on a state law that ends the practice of allowing unused vacation and leave time to be added to pensions. Rapidly growing and one key concern here is the steep terrain taking a look at the elevation contours for this part of the region. Were seeing elevations around 1,000 to 2,000 to 2500 feet. Some steep changes in the terrain. Now currently, its zipped on by but currently 100 degrees and humidity level around 14 to 16 and tomorrow not too much change. Forecasting a high of 102 degrees and the moisture levels coming down as well. Here you can see on the satellite to the south and to our east, so the right portion of your screen were seeing some moisture move into the estate. And that moisture will be approaching if bay area later on tonight into monday morning. And in addition to the lower clouds, the fog we have right now hugging a good portion of the bay area coastline. The Los Angeles Times reports that some inmates spend as much as 400 a month on calls to friends and family.
