The avalanche dumped 16 feet of snow on the ski resort on wednesday and 30 people were trapped inside. A total of nine people have been pulled alive from the rubble. The guest at the hotel had checked out and were waiting for a snowplow to clear the road. The avalanche hit before they could leave. And Santa Barbara county 20 people fled from the campsites after a mudslide tore through the area. Officials say a flooded creek send water, mud and debris gushing into the El Capitan Canyon resort. The water swept up several cars and forced campbell several cabins up the foundations. Some people were trapped inside those cabins.
