A wind advisory in place for our bay side communities, as well as the north bay. This begins tonight, right about 10 00. So up until that point, a mix of sun and clouds, more clouds than sun, scattered showers, and then storm number 3, this is what were looking at. Anywhere from an inch to two inches for our urban area, two to four for our coastal hills. Winded sustained at 40, with gusts 45 to 50, especially along the coasts and our hills. And were looking at the higher peaks getting 3 to 6 feet of snow. Notice our lunch hour, mostly cloudy, a few sprinkles. The avalanche dumped 16 feet of snow on the ski resort on wednesday and 30 people were trapped inside. A total of nine people have been pulled alive from the rubble. Rescue is saying there is an air pocket in one part of the hotel that allowed them to breathe. This is the kitchen area the did not have any windows. Thats how they were protected. The guest at the hotel had checked out and were waiting for a snowplow to clear the road. The avalanche hit before they could leave. And Santa Barbara county 20 people fled from the campsites after a mudslide tore through the area. Officials say a flooded creek send water, mud and debris gushing into the El Capitan Canyon resort. The water swept up several cars and forced campbell several cabins up the foundations. Some people were trapped inside those cabins.
