Texas Officials Say one woman is dead and several other people heard after a shooting in downtown austin. Three other women are hospitalized in serious condition but are expected to survive. People were freaked out and afraid. There were so many cops and ambulances. Fire says the man fell 50 to 100 feet off the cliff near the restaurant. He was seen lying face down in the water. The park Service Rescue Swimmers had difficulty getting to the man because of the rough surf and they needed help from the coast guard getting out of the water themselves. The man was pronounced dead by the southern marin fire depends department. The mans companion was on a cliff near the water. She was rescued. Bart is running normally today after a fire at a station yesterday. This is the walnut creek station. Insulating material used around the third rail on the west end of the station caught on fire. Anybody whos been and a station has see the third rail and they see the plastic cover that goes over the third rail. That is what was on fire in this case. Bart crews needed an hour and a half to put out the fire. Trains were back in service last night and no injuries reported. Bart is trying to figure out what caused the fire. Traffic delays on bay area roads yesterday and its not clear if the schedule bart track shutdown between glen park and daly city station was a factor. There are six more weekends that the shutdowns planned for track maintenance. Crews installing noise reducing equipment on the tracks. The weekend closures will last through mid october. They are running free bus shuttles. It should at least an extra hour to the trip. Santa clara fire is getting their upper hand on a wildfire east of san jose. This is near calaveras and sierra roads last night. About 125 acres have burned so far. The fire is 75 contained and there are no Evacuations Ordered and no issues. The biggest fire in Northern California continues to grow. 1500 firefighters battling this fire. It has charged a 34,000 acres and 57 homes. 350 people remain evacuated. The People Living in the carmel highland area are allowed home. One man says even though he was told to leave he simply couldnt walk away from his property. Its everything you worked for. It is all your stuff and you dont want to go. I wanted to stay here and it was gonna burn and i was gonna watch it burn. Officials say it will take a month or longer to get the fire under control. They dont really realize the importance of it and you dont want them to have a fire and have the firemen walk around your home and say you dont have enough coverage to rebuild your home. People are underinsured. One of the things you can do to mitigate the premium is to go with higher deductibles as a strategy. The higher the premium the lower the deductible so when you have that review with your agent if he tells you that you dont have enough coverage dont worry about the premium but go with higher deductible. New overnight, one woman is dead and three others hospitalized after an early on morning shooting in downtown austin, and three other women are hospitalized. Investigatorssay there was a disturbances in austins Entertainment District just as the bars were closing, and someone began shooting into the crowd. Police have not located a suspect and have only a vague description of a possible shooter. Back home, bart officials are looking for a fire that shut down service at the east bay station yesterday p there was no service at the walnut creek station at yesterday afternoon at 3 00 after insulated material around the third rail on the west end of the station caught fire. Anyone who has been in the bart station has seen the third rail and the fiberglass cover that goes over the third rail, and that was on fire in this case. Crews were able to put the fire out quickly and expect to put the diagrammed trains back in service. No report of injuries. There were traffic delays along bay area roads yesterday. Its not clear if the scheduled bart track shut down between the glen park and daly city stations was a factor. Regardless, there were six more long weekends of the shutdown all for track maintenance and crews are installing noise reducing equipment and the work is expected to last through october. Samtrans is using shuttles. Fire crews in Santa Clara County are making progress in a wildfire that broke out near calaveras and sierra roads after 5 00 last night. The latest information has the fire at 75 contained and 125 acres scorched. No Evacuations Ordered, and no homes are threatened. They will be looking for a cause once the fire is under control. The fire is continuing to eat away along the Los Padres National forest, and thats primarily where the fire is spreading in the southeast direction, kind of away from the carmel valley. Wondering how the forecast is helping you out or hindering you guys out there, bullpenet. Reporter cooler weather and increased humidity is good for firefighting as long as it doesnt bring wind. That influence seems to be moderating along the coastline below 400 feet. Once you get above that, the fire burns from 1000 to 1500, 2000 feet and its staying hot and dry and even down in the single digits. Its creating almost a harder experience for the firefighters where its hot and dry. Is it a good year this year in terms of not a ton of fires . We had not had a ton of rain. Reporter unfortunately, we didnt get all the rain we needed, and the rain we did get in years pass past and now we have a combination of drought stressed trees and the additional of escapal grass that is fire ready. Reporter we have quite a few its a collaboration of hundreds of agencies here. A little over 5300 firefighters total on this fire. We saw it here at the embarcadero, up down, up, down, windy and wet but the organizers and volunteers did a great job. It must be fun to win in your home area, and talk about the hills. I covered the Boston Marathon a number of times, heartbreak hill. Whats it like, up, down, up, down . It must be crazy. Reporter yeah, it is. This is like boston except with 7 heart break hills. The hills are fun because you lose yourself a bit. You go down and all can do is focus on not falling over, and sometimes, the straightaways are more difficult. You have to look straight ahead. But the hills are nice sometimes. Not so nice at times. And you get to train here and you think it helps you prep for this marathon in particular . Were you running the course to get a feel for it to know where to put on the gas and the brakes . Reporter at times, i wasnt intentionally running the course, just Golden Gate Park. I live in the mission and running around the mission t helps with the course today. I think unintentionally i was able to preview the course. And interesting, max. The wind bars from the south, its easy to understand how the smoke is transported into the bay area all the way into the sierra. Big sur, the relative humidity is good and the weather is good, only 50 degrees and it will warm up for today and again, the southerly flow will continue to push the smoke in our direction and continue to push it all the way into the sierra. Police were called to the south Florida House in kenneddal this morning and 2 women died at the scene and a 17yearold boy died at the hospital. Police are not releasing information about who might have fired the deadly shots. In texas, a woman is dead after someone fired into a big crowd in austins Entertainment District, and all the victims that were shot were expected to survive. This happened just as the bars were shutting down in austin. They dont have a suspect in custody and only a vague description. Investigators are looking for the cause of a fire that shut down the walnut creek bart station. So far, all they know is that the fire was insulation on the third rail. All operations are back to normal. The time is 8 33. Ntsb is investigating a hot air balloon crash in texas that killed all 16 people on board. It was about 30 miles south of austin when it crashed in the field. Investigators think that the fire was in a basket that dropped. Hoping to find cell phone video of the incident. A witness said she heard a popping sound. I think the pop was the balloons connecting with the lines. By the time i looked that way, it wassed on ground. Investigators are in the process of trying to determine why it crashed. Its one of the worst hot air balloon crashs in history. Investigatorssay he had a backpack with money, a large knife, and a tshirt that may have been use used to cover his face, and another boy was arrested suspected of robbing a taco bell last thursday. A little cesars pizza and a gas station were also robbed. Fortunately, no one was hurt during any of the robberies. A game stop in newark is offering a 2,000 reward to find the man accused of robbing their store twice. Police released surveillance videos of the man as he is suspected of robbing the store on jarvis avenue this month and in february of last year. Policesay the man walked in with a gun and left with money. He is suspected of robbing game stop stores in union city and san leandro. New information coming in about the two Emeryville Police officers who were nearly hit by gunfire with a shooting that happened late friday night near the pixar studios. Emeryville police are calling the incident a negligent discharge of a firearm and say officers saw a bullet ricochet off the ground and hit at a nearby building. Nobody was injured. San jose Police Officers are inviting people to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee with them today, coffee with a cop. Its being held this afternoon at 12 30 to 3 30 at the Emmanuel Baptist church. Reporter my strategy was first to enjoy the race. Im a local resident and i wanted to have fun and go out and run a good pace. I didnt expect to win it. Pi but it was a great opportunity. Its the first marathon have you ever run; right . How do you feel . Must feel great. Reporter yeah. I am very happy. Im tired now but it was good to win. I grew up in the bay area and coming here and winning it was a lot of fun. Tired sounds like an understatement. We talked with the top mens finisher, and he said what comes up, must come down. The hills, a plus and a minus. How did you navigate the hills . Reporter i just kept trying to push up the hill and gained momentum going down the hill. I felt it on the legs by mile 20 but had to keep pushing forward. Reporter what about going over the bridge . It been in the race some years and they have taken it out some years. How much fun is this to go over the golden gate . Reporter it was great. As we were going back, you can see the crowds coming back up the other way, and people are clapping their hands expected cheering for you. When you are the first female, they are saying keep going. One woman is dead and three others hospitalized after a the shooting in downtown austin, texas. There was a disturbance just as bars were closing up. Thats when someone began shooting into the crowd. The women in the hospital are all expected to survive. Police have not located a suspect and have only a vague description of a possible shooter. A deadly crash in hayward along interstate 880. New video from the scene. It all happened just before 4 00 on southbound 880 near the west winton avenue offramp. You can see the wreckage and roads blocked off by police. One person was killed and another one injured and one person was taken to the hospital. In San Francisco, the National Parks service is looking into how a man fell nearly 50 to 100 feet down a cliff to his death yesterday afternoon in the waters off lands end. Three rescuers had to have jump in the water without wetsuits to save the man but the mans fall ended up being deadly. Reporter San Franciscos fog covers the rough surf. The trails leading down are frequently explored by locals and tourists. There are places when there isnt like a fence or anything surrounding it, and i feel its possible for someone to fall. A lot of people were freaked out and afraid because there were so many cops and ambulances. Reporter San Francisco fire said that the man fell from the cliff at the restaurant and was seen lying facedown in the water. Park Service Rescue Swimmers had difficulty getting to the man because of the rough surf and needed help from the coast guard and getting out of the water themselves. The man was pronounced dead by the southern marin fire district. The mans female companion was stuck at the bottom of the cliff. She was rescued with rescuers repelling down the edge. Bart is rung a normal schedule in the east bay after a fire in the walnut creek station yesterday afternoon. Officialssay that insulated material around the third rail on the west end of the station somehow caught fire. Anyone who was in the bart station has seen a third rail and seen the fiberglass cover, that was on fire in this case. The crews needed about 90 mondays to put out the fire and inspect the track surrounding the equipment for damage, and trains were back in service last night. No reports of injury, and bart is trying to figure out what may have caused the fire. Big traffic delays along the bay area roads. There are six more weekends of shutdowns planned all for track maintenance. Crews are installing noise reducing equipment, and closures are expected to last through midoctober, and samtrans is running free bus shuttles. And heading to sfo millbrae t should add an hour to the trip. Crews are getting an upper hand on the wildfire east of san jose. Flames broke out near calaveras after 5 00 last night. The latest update on the sierra fire said 125 acres have burned. The fire, 75 contained. There are no Evacuations Ordered, and no homes threatened at this time. The cause is under investigation the number of fire crews working on the biggest wildfire in Northern California continues to grow with more than 5300 firefighters battling the fire south of carmel. Flames have charred nearly 34,000 acres, 57 homes and 11 other buildings have been destroyed. 350 people remain evacuated. Some People Living in the carmel islands area are allowed to return home. One man said even when he was told to leave, he wouldnt walk away property his home. Its all you work for, and i dont want to go. A woman and two teenagers died. They are a woman and her 19 yearold and 17yearold sons and a 12yearold boy who was injured in the shooting. No one is say figure he is related to the other victims. Police are not releasing information about a suspect. And in texas, a woman is dead after someone fired into a crowd in austins Entertainment District this morning. Four other people were injured. All of them are expected to survive. Policesay some disturbance happened when someone started shooting as bars were shutting down. And they say they are interviewing witnesses and will get a description of the shooter. Back in the bay area, investigators are looking into the cause of a fire which shut down a walnut creek bart station. All they know is is that the fire is limited to the insulation used on the third rail on the west end of the platform. All operations today are back to normal. The National Transportation safety board is investigating a hot air balloon crash in texas that killed all 16 people on board. It was south of austin when it caught fire and crashed below. Investigators think that the fire was in the basket itself. One witness said she heard a popping sound before the balloon came down. I think the pops i heard was the balloon connecting with the lines. By the time i looked that way, it was already on the ground. Ntsb investigators are in the process of trying to figure out what caused the balloon to crash saying its one of the worst hot air balloon crashs in history.
