There is another look there at all that overcast over the oaklands to ware, widespread, dense fog advisory. First things first take a look from up above all that gray that will continue, again, for the next few hours. By lunchtime pulling back and partly cloudy. Heres a look at the visibility really tough over portions of the north bay. Well stop there last because thats where we have the advisory. Lets start in the south bay. 2miles visibility for you san jose. So not bad the down to about a mile at sfo as we shift to the east bay down to half mile for livermore. Three at concord. Eight in areas right around did i say concord . Halfmile at livermore. Eight at concord. Tour the north bay these darker shades of gray indicating where it is very patchy and dense. Patchy dense along i 0 near fairfield. Patchy dense around American Canyon. Less than a quarter mile at the airport. Santarosa reporting good visibility that changed in the last 5 minutes or so. So its going to move around just a little bit. Ill continue to follow it but the advisory is for the north bay and it goes all the way until 9 00 this morning. Stretches well beyond s anta rosa. All the way down to near vallejo. Going on for today. Get into the afternoon we do have mild weather on the way. A warmup expected for valentines day. Time now 7 03 there is a warning to sight seers on the Golden Gate Bridge someone hit two people on the span yesterday. With darts. Heres a look at one of those darts theres a pen nbc to it so you can use that as a Reference Point for size. Each dart has a 5 inch long needle. The first victim of the dart went into his thigh 12 inches deep. Chp officers were talking to him a second victim walked up and said he was hit in the knee. Both were treated at the scene. The family of a missing man plan to search for him this weekend 73yearold john beck was last seen at the 12th street bart station in oakland on tuesday. The San Francisco chronicle also reporting that he may be me behind a get rich quick scam and facing a 113 million judgment from the federal trade commission. Woods told officers they would have to shoot him before he would drop his knife. An autopsy shows he was shot at least 20 times. And the city of oakland reached a tentative settlement with the family of a man struck and killed by a police car. Authority say st. Officer was driving at a normal speed to an unrelated call when the accident happened in august of 2014. 58yearold been tran was hit near lake merit and later died at the hospital. Theres a warning this morning to sight seers on Golden Gate Bridge. Someone hit two people on the span yesterday, with blow darts. Take a look. This is one of the darts, theres a pen next to it as arenas point here. Each dart has a 5 inch long needle. The first victim says the dart went into his thigh 12 inches deep. As chp officers were talking to him a second victim walk the up and said she was hit in the kneecap. Both were treated at the scene but authorities will now test the darts to see if they contin any toxins. Investigators believe the darts were fired from a car traveling north in the lane right next to the pedestrian walkway. Were also following developing story this morning in the east bay. The family of a missing man plans to search for him this morning. 73yearold john beck was last seen at the 12th street bart station in oakland on tuesday. They think he got on a train headed for San Francisco. This pictures was taken shortly after he was dropped downtown oakland for an payment he ner made. The San Francisco chronicle reports that beck may be behind a get rich quick scam and is facing a 113 million judgment from the federal trade commission. His daughter told the chronicle she doesnt believe the case has led to her farthers disappearance. The fame also says theyve hired a private investigator and organized the search party to look for him. Police are looking for a man accused of stealing items from a Kohls Department store, then returning the merchandise in exchange for gift cards. This is a picture of the suspect. Investigators say he went to the kohls last night and took some items from the display area. Police say he then went to the return counter with those goods and tried to get gift card. He left before security guards could catch him. A Fire Destroys at pacifica home that was already just barely hanging on. It started yesterday afternoon on palmetto avenue. Firefighters worked for an Hurricane Joaquin tour get it out. Authority had already condemned that home because the cliff underneath it is crumbling. No one was hurt, investigators are new trying to figure out how that started. Repairs to the sea wall are two weeks away. They are going to prerepair the wall and stabilize that area. That is going to cost nearly half a Million Dollars but the city says it will cost closer to 2 million to completely restore the area. New details about a gruesome discovery in san jose that we told you about yesterday morning. A woman looking for her cell phone found a human skull. The remains were found along interstate 280 near San Jose City college. The woman called 911 and when chp arrived investigators found nearly an entire skeleton and clothing. The Coroners Office is still working to dent fight remains. The chp says the bones were near a homeless camp. We got an active investigation talking with the Homeless People in the area to try to get an idea if anybody knows anything who it may have been or what may have happened. So we can try to eliminate anything. This discovery comes just one day after sheriffs deputies found another set of human remains near the college in gilroy. The San Francisco City Attorney is do ending the Police Officers who shot and killed mario woods. The city respond to a federal lawsuit filed by his family yesterday. The City Attorney said the shooting was lawful and justified. Sanfrancisco police say woods failed to surrender peacefully and posted an imminent threat to by standers and officers. Police also say that woods told officers that they would have to shoot him before he would drop his knife. An autopsy shows he was shot at least 20 times. And the city of oakland reached a tentative settlement with a family of a man struck and killed by a police car. Authorities say the officer was driving at normal speed to an unrelated call when the accident happened in august of 2014. 58yearold was hit and later died at the hospital. His family filed a lawsuit. If the city cons ail proves the settlement, the family would be awarded 2. 75 million. Tell us about the animals you have on the planes. Well, out other bay area were transporting pets from the settlement ser, tracy shelter and also the fremont shelter. And then were also flying 80 dogs out of oklahoma shelters and then about another 120 out of bakersfield and vie dale y to other shelters. Do they all go back1 place . I know the idea is to take them out of kill shelters, right, and find them new homes . Correct. Today is our love is in the air flight for valentines day. And we are flying these 200 pets to boeing field where about 7 or 8 of our rescue partners will be gathering them and finding them new homes in next week or so. But, you know, for people who think about, you know, all the animals out there in need how big is the problem when you see all of these animals come with you oh, look, you have a little friend there. In terms of how important these kind of operations are to saving these animals. Its life and death. Unfortunately there are just too many pets in the shelters and not enough homes. And in the pacific northwest, canada and in the northern states, and even back east where smaller breeds are popular they get adopted quickly. These 200 pets will find homes in a week where they would have had no chance here in the shelters. This is a major operation that you organized. How much does it cost to coop a program like this running . Each flight it costs about 50 per pet to fly. They do receive health certificates, vetting, rabies vaccinations, so the rather expensive we are a Nonprofit Organization and we do love donations to keep flying these pets to safety.
