According to the mayor leesa gillmore, she says the 49ers owe the city almost 2 million in unpaid parking fees, use of Construction Funds and city staff time. The 49ers say all this is a pr stunt designed to make headlines and the city failed to bill expenses. The Team Released this statement quote in the end, they wasted over 200,000 in public funds to discover the city of santa clara failed to bill 115,000 in expenses. Mayor gillmore chose to waste 200,000 of funds with the intent of creating media headlines, that plan back fired. This was 49er spokesperson bog lang and the mayor was quick to respond with this.
