A lot of 60s, 70s, and some very low 80s inland. Sal, Getting Better in the freemont commute . It is. We had a crash that lasted more than an hour on 880 in fremont. This Ford Expedition was in the two left lanes along with other vehicles in the crash. This car was also involved here. An unusual occurrence. A naked man spotted near the accident scene. May have been driving one of the vehicles. Chp detained in man, took him to the hospital along with one other person. This created a huge backup on 880 south. We can show you that on the maps. The crash is gone but the accident, backup is still there. All lanes are opened. Backed up from 238. Speeds are super slow along this commute. If you are just getting up and realizing, hey, this is my commute, eight miles. Sound good to new no. No, not at all. Please give yourself extra time if this is your commute. You are going to see a lot of slow traffic stretching all the way back to hayward. You can see that long line of traffic there. Lets move along and take a look at the commute here on westbound highway 4. Pittsburg slow. Baypointe slow. 680 slow from concord to walnut creek. Live pictures now. Bay bridge toll plaza backed up to are a 20minute delay. No major problems. And 280 in san jose the south bay commute not bad. Sunny. Different from the other pictures. Traffic looks good. Back to the desk. Investigators in the north bay are looking for three suspects. It forced nearby Novato High School to close today. Ktvus christian kafton reports the school is linked to that shooting and stabbing. Reporter we are here at the scene of that homicide in novato. Lets give you a look so you can see for yourself. You can see that there are deputies securing the scene waiting for more investigators to arrive later today. Meanwhile classes canceled because investigators believe the suspect and or victims may have ties to the schools. That follows this shooting and stabbing which left a man dead and another hospitalized. Lets give you a sense of where we are. The first victim called police around 5 30 last night saying he had been shot and stabbed in an open space area near the marin country club. He tells investigators he was attacked by three people. When investigators arrived they found the survivor with a gunshot wound to his chest and another victim that had been shot and stabbed. That victim died of his injuries. Neither victims name has been leased. The high school sent out a note last night saying classes are canceled to ensure the safety of students and staff due to an uncertainty surrounding the situation. Investigators wont say much about the suspects or victims, but they are looking for connections. What brought these individuals up here is unknown right now. We are working on a number of leads right now that we are getting from the community and people who may have some very good information that we are trying to identify who the suspects might be. Some of them appear to be viable. Reporter investigators are looking to see if gangs or drugs may be involved in this deadly encounter. So far no arrests and only a vague description of the victims and suspects. The medical examiner due out here on scene later this morning to collect the deceased. Authorities combed over the scene last night looking for evidence. We are expecting a more intense investigation as the morning progresses. Christian kafton, fox 2 news. Happening today a District Court in san jose will rule on whether the owner of a Mobile Home Park should pay 8 million in relocation fees if he evicts the families living there. The owner is suing the city of palo alto saying the fees constitute a, quote, staggering financial demand. This comes after the city approved his bid to sell the citys only Mobile Home Park in 2013 but determined he would have to pay the 67 families living there compensation fees. His lawyers called the demands unconstitutional. Time is 7 06 turning to the president ial race. Hillary Clinton Campaigns here in the bay area today. She will make two public appearances with Campaign Rallies in san jose and in San Francisco. Now, in san jose she is due to speak at 1 30 at park side hall in the downtown area. Doors open at 11 30. In San Francisco miss clinton will appear at a rally at 4 15 at the hybernia building. Doors open at 2 p. M. Both rallies are free and open to the public. Now, Hillary Clintons campaign is responding to a report that sharply criticizes mrs. Clinton for using a private email server when she was secretary of state. The Inspector General says clinton did not seek permission to use the private server. That report also says clinton had an obligation to discuss the use of that server with others within the state department. Now, the Clinton Campaign is pointing out the report notes that other secretaries of state used personal email for work purposes as well, saying there was a clear precedent set at the state department that the practice was acceptable. Donald trump says he would be willing to debate Bernie Sanders before californias june 7th primary. He said that last night on jimmy kimmel live. Bernie sanders wanted to debate Hillary Clinton but she declined. Bernie sanders appears to have accepted trumps offer to debate tweeting game on. In Orange County police in anaheim broke up fights and arrested some demonstrators outside a donald trump rally at the Anaheim Convention center yesterday. Hundreds of people were protesting trumps call to build a fence. Some threw objects at the police. The police had to intervene when a group of Trump Supporters started yelling racially charged chants at the protesters. This came after a trump rally in albuquerque, new mexico turned violent. New this morning president obama is weighing in on the president ial campaign and he is doing it from the g7 summit in japan where he is meeting with other World Leaders. Airports for people getting by fences and gates. Sfo says it has increased patrols, added lighting and closed circuit cameras and has fortified two checkpoints. Boy, in seattle they had power problems and Officials Say it could take days before they know why downtown seattle suffered that blackout during lunchtime yesterday. Everything was stuck. Thousands of people were affected when traffic lights went out. Commuter ferries couldnt run. Seattles rail system was out of service. Then there were the people stuck in the highrise buildings. Fire crews had to arrange more than 20 elevator rescues. Other people had to walk down lots of flights of stairs. One woman said she was on the 34th floor when the power went out. A lot of stairs and then about halfway down the light shut off, which was really scary. My guess is the hardest part was the guys down below in the parking garage. It probably got pretty dark. A lot of people admitted they were scared. There were no injuries. It took an hour to get the power back on. Seattle power officials have traced the problem to a power substation, but they are still searching to find out exactly what happened. Time is 7 14. 880 has been problematic early on. Investigators say it may be arson. The fire at the clinic was around 3 30 wednesday morning. It was damage to the front of the building and furniture was burned. A planned parenthood spokeswoman said there were no specific threats recently, but they did get suspicious calls. Planned parenthood believes someone start started it by throwing some flammable in the building. Now texas is leading a coalition with ten other states to say the federal Justice Department overstepped bounds when it sent a memo to schools that told districts to allow students to use the bathrooms of their choice. Many School Districts say that thats a threat to the safety of their students. They are hearing from worried parent and so they are suing the federal government. U. S. Attorney general Loretta Lynch says the Justice Department will fight any lawsuits that challenge the federal directive on transgender rights. A Northern California high school is being forced to change its mascot after many native americans complained about it and found it offensive. Calaveras high school will no longer be known as the redskins. Now, in response to the backlash and a new law the Community Voted to change the mascot to nothing. The school will simply be known as calaveras high. One of the biggest reasons behind the no mascot vote, the school will get to keep its logo of a native american chief wearing a headdress. I think its a beautiful logo. You know, i think thats what needed to be done. I think its more the feeling of the image. Like having it there for sports and Everything Else and more of like just the word. Now, back in 2015 a new law banned the mascot, giving the school a little more than a year to change the name. Crowded here at the 80 split southbound and northbound. No major problems driving down to the peninsula if you are driving to the airport, 101 is a good bet. 880 earlier problems. Slower than usual from hayward to fremont and it stays that way into milpitas. You can see traffic on 85, 280 and 101 are slow into the Silicon Valley. Most people trying to get to this part of the world there. That is a terrible circle. Can i do that again . There we go. Thats where they want to go and they are on the other side of the valley trying to get there. Now at 7 33 back to the desk. More than 24 hours now since a vallejo teenager was last seen. Solano county sheriffs are very concerned especially because of the way she was taken. Ktvus brian flores in our newsroom with the disturbing details and clues, brian, left behind at the scene. Reporter yeah, what is also concerning about this case is that authorities dont know the extent of her injuries. But they say there are some leads and hopefully some witnesses will come forward as well. Now, the search continues for 15yearold pearl pinson of vallejo. There is a search for the person who deputies say may have taken her, 19yearold Fernando Castro, also of vallejo. At 7 a. M. Yesterday sheriffs deputies received several calls from witnesses of a hispanic man who again deputies believe to be castro pulling pinson across the pedestrian overcross in vallejo. Its located between homemakers avenue and taylor avenue. A witness told deputies that the man had a gun and that pinsons face was bleeding and she was yelling for help. That witness also ran for help. When she did she heard a gunshot. By the time deputies arrived pinson and castro were gone but there was some blood on the ground and pinsons cell phone left behind. We are very concerned. There was some form of altercation that happened there. There were at least one shot heard in that area around that time. And a witness saw a female being drug away that had blood on her face. We are very concerned. Reporter pearl pinson never arrived at school yesterday. She was last seen according to authorities wearing a grey sweater, black leggings with a black and turquoise balboa park. She has green hair. Castro was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and possibly wearing reading type glasses. Sheriffs did not provide details of whether they knew each other. A search goes on for a sacramento father and his one yearold daughter last seen in the bay area. Investigators say 23yearold Kyler Jackson went missing sunday night after leaving antioch with his daughter caylee. Family members say he was headed home to the sacramento area but never got there. They say his phone is going straight to voicemail. His social media posts stopped about 7 p. M. The same day he went missing. Now the family is pleading for help from the public. He would never of his free will stay way and out of contact from his family. He would not do it. I cant wait. I cannot wait another day. I cant wait another day. Now, the police did search waterways along highway 160 but there was no sign that his car went into the water. Family members also want investigators to check surveillance videos from the antioch bridge. Now, here is a description of jacksons car. Its a silver ford taurus. The license plate 4wvw944. Time is 7 36. Five mayors are going to the governor asking for help after another freeway shooting. The latest tuesday night in hercules. In this case a man was shot in the leg. He is expected to survive. But this was the 28th freeway shooting in the east bay since last november. Four people have been killed. 12 others injured. The mayors from hercules, pinole, san pablo, richland and el cerrito plan to ask for surveillance cameras at on and off ramps. They want to upgrade the existing caltrans cameras. What were asking for is just to have cameras onramp and offramp and have the ability to record traffic on the freeway. The majority of the shootings have happened on interstate 80. He was charged with felony vandalism. 7 42. The San Jose Unified School district is dealing with a Virus Outbreak among Elementary School kids. A suspected norovirus has been spreading. 23 students were out yet. 100 students at Horace Mann School have been sick since april. Health safety has been added to the curriculum. Well, the more you move, the lower the grades. Thats the claim out of a Boston College report about how kids may be affected when you decide to sell the house. This is a very popular time to move right after kids get out of school so the family can relocate during summer vacation. Now, a new Study Suggests kids who move are more likely to have developmental problems than kids who dont. Researchers out of Boston College listed information on more than 19,000 children across the u. S. The kids were followed from kindergarten through eighth grade and they determined that the more times the child moved, the more potential for problems. The childs age at the time of the move may make a big difference. The researchers noted moves during mid childhood or early teen years were linked to shorterterm effects on reading and math skills, but reading and math scores went down with each additional move. Each move was also tied to poor social skills and higher rates of emotional and behavioral problems. So the study also finds that moving to a new home, even if the child stays at the same school, can adversely affect the childs focus by disrupting his or her daily routine and that can affect their schoolwork. Its very interesting. We have also talked about a lot of people moving out of the bay area because its so expensive here. California. So might be something to consider when you are thinking about moving, how to might affect your child. A lot of parents do wait until the end of the school year to finish, you know, and do their move in the summer months. We have a couple of students who have left in the middle of the school year. We are also looking at a commute that is backed up at the bay bridge toll plaza, which is typical. 20 to 25 minutes before you make it to the bridge. 580 is not bad through livermore and dublin. Dublin is slow. 880 has been a tough commute because of an earlier crash here. The traffic is going to be very slow. Its slow all the way back from hayward to fremont. A San Francisco Home Remodeling project came to an abrupt stop when a construction worker turned out a tiny coverren with a little girl buried inside. Several vehicles were involved. Also, there was a naked man found walking along the road near the crash. So it happened near 5 00. That man along with another person was taken to the hospital. They cleared the crash after about an hour, but the damage is done. In fact, you can still see, if we can transition to the maps here, traffic still going to be very slow. In fact, if we look at the speeds here on 880 southbound, still less than 20 Miles Per Hour for most of that commute. Thats worse than it normally it for that drive. I also want to mention that there is a crash now on the peninsula reported southbound 280 near sand hill road. Thats a multivehicle crash. That one just came in. So please give yourself extra time. Southbound 280 near sand hill road. Moving to the bay bridge toll plaza you will see thats about a 20minute delay. Getting a little better at the toll plaza. Starting with two major developments in a story we have been following for you in marin county. An hour from now the Sheriffs Office is going to hold a News Conference. They are going to talk about their investigation. We know two people were stabled and shot last night in an open space area Fairway Drive not far from the marin country club. One victim died at the scene. The Novato High School is closed this morning because of that attack. Ktvus christian kafton reports from novato where some students were somehow connected to the shooting and stabbing. Reporter we learned that marin county sheriffs deputies will hold a press conference in an hour to update us. You can see that there are sheriffs deputies securing the scene right now. Novato High School Classes canceled for the day. Investigators believe the suspect and or victims may have ties to the school. That following the shooting and stabbing which left a man dead and mother hospitalized. The first victim called Police Last Night at 5 30 saying he had been shot and stabbed in an open space area at the end of Fairway Drive. He says he was attacked by three people. When investigators arrived they found the survivor with a gunshot wound his chest and another victim who had been shot and stabbed. That victim died of his injuries. While neither victims name has been released, Novato High School sent a note to parents last night saying classes are canceled today to, quote, ensure the safety of students and staff and due to uncertainty surrounding the investigation. People living in the area were surprised. I am shocked. I am because, you know, i never seen anything like this before. Reporter investigators are looking to see if gangs or drugs may be involved in this deadly encounter. So far no arrests and only a vague description of the victims and suspects. At this point investigators do due out late they are morning and we will tell you more as we learn more details from that press conference set to start at around 9 00. Now, the mayors plan to deliver a letter requesting state funding for surveillance cameras at onramps and off ramps. More americans are apparently feeling good enough about the economy to make a major investment. The National Association of realtors say the number of people signing contracts in april to buy a home increased for the third month in a row. That pushed pending sales to the highest level since 2006. Overall, sales are up 4. 6 from this time last year. Economists say steady job growth and low Mortgage Rates are boosting Consumer Confidence and enabling them to buy a home. Ford is recalling thousands of its best selling pickup trucks because of a fluid leak that can reduce braking power. That includes 271,000 ford f 150 pickups. A very popular model from ford. We had a couple of earlier minor incidents. This commute into Mountain View is slow in both directions from the Upper Peninsula and also from the south bay from san jose. Moving along to the bay bridge toll plaza, that is improving finally. A little bit of slow traffic here. About a 10minute delay before the bridge. 8 31. Back to the desk. Thank you, sal. Sheriffs deputies are concerned after they received a number of calls about a struggle between an armed man and a teenage girl. The deputies say she may have been shot. Thats what they are worried about. She is still missing. Brian flores has some disturbing details and a clue that was left behind . Solano county sheriffs are looking for the man last seen with the teenager. We have reached out to investigators this morning. They say the search continues for both and they are continuing to speak with witnesses, but the concern also is that the teenager may have been injured during this altercation. This happened at about 7 a. M. Yesterday on a freeway overpass above highway 780 in vallejo. Now, the overpass is located near home acres avenue and taylor avenue. Several witnesses yesterday morning heard at least a gunshot in that area. One witness according to deputies reported seeing a hispanic man who sheriffs identified as 19yearold Fernando Castro of vallejo with a gun pulling 15yearold pearl pinson across the freeway overpass. The witness told investigators that her face was bleeding and she was screaming for help. But by the time deputies arrived both were gone, but there was blood on the ground and pearls cell phone left behind. Find out who she was seen with. Anybody that may have heard something, maybe they were getting ready for work, they may have heard a struggle or somebody yell for help. A search for a sacramento father and his oneyearold daughter last seen right here in the bay area. 23yearold Kyler Jackson went missing sunday night after leaving antioch with his daughter caylee. Family members say he was heading home to the sacramento area but never got there. They say calls to his phone, they are going straight to voicemail. His social media posts ended around 7 p. M. The same day he went missing. Now the family is pleading for help from the public. He would never of his free will stay away and out of contact from his family. He would not do it. I cant wait. I cannot wait another day. I cant wait another day. Now, police searched the waterways along highway 160. They found no sign that his car went into the water. The owner of buena vista Mobile Home Park is suing the city of palo alto saying the fees constitute a, quote, staggering financial demand. Students are told to wash their hands longer and more often than usual. California lawmakers are requesting a state audit of the disabled parking permit system. There are concerns that some people have obtained the placards under false pretenses. Others may be using it of a relative. They say misuse means people who need disabled parking cant find it. Well, after months of legal debates over which bathrooms Transgender Americans can use, the state of texas is filing a lawsuit to try to settle it. Texas and ten other states say the federal Justice Department overstepped its bounds when it sent a memo to schools. That memo told students to allow students to use the bathrooms of their choice. Many School Districts say thats a threat to the safety of their students and they are hearing from worried parents. Attorney general Loretta Lynch says the Justice Department will vigorously fight any lawsuits that challenge that federal directive on transgender rights. Time is 8 46. A San Francisco Home Remodeling project suddenly stopped when a construction worker found something small and metal under his shovel. Under the dirt was a tiny coffin. It was still sealed up. Now, the workers called the homeowner, who was out of town. She called the medical examiner who had the casket opened. Inside was the remains of a little girl, maybe three years old, perfectly preserved after being buried more than a century ago. All the hair was still there. The nails was still there.
