Says the work will make the tracks safer and quieter. We also have other things going on. There is a new crash here is a look at the san mateo bridge. Traffic is moving along okay. I want to bring up highway 101 in San Francisco if i can somewhere in this traffic report. There it is. There is a crash thats blocking lanes on the connector ramp from westbound 80 to southbound 101. You see it there. Its blocking the left lane. Everyone is squeezing to the right. This will affect traffic coming in off the bay bridge until they clear it. They are trying to do it as fast as possible but they are still out there. Traffic is slow off the bay bridge, as a matter of fact. Give yourself extra time. We go to the maps now to the east bay. Traffic here on westbound 24 is going to be slow because of an accident just outside of the tunnel. Thats having an effect on traffic on highway 24. Lets take a live look at highway 24. You can see how slow it is. This is an awful drive unto the tunnel. We have a lot going on. An accident at the bay bridge toll plaza. A reported hit and run. We have a lot of action. San Francisco Police are investigating a shooting that injured two people in the citys mission district. Alex savidge joins us now with more on the investigation and more on the victims. Reporter yeah, good morning to you, pam. This scene has been cleared. San Francisco Police wrapped up their investigation at the location of the shooting overnight. And now they are searching for the people involved here, the shooter or shooters. Let me show you the scene. Its a very busy area especially this morning. 24th and mission. It happened right at that bus stop across the way. You can see theres yellow tape. Thats because a lot of the glass on the shelter was blown out as blults were blults were flying bullets were flying. One of the victims, in his 50s. The other victim, the second man, is in his 20s and it appears that he may have been targeted here. The shooting, it happened about midnight here in the mission. Quite a few people standing at the bus stop and quite a few shots were fired as well. Bullets hit two different cars. Police have not said what may have prompted the gunfire but both men who were hit. They are expected to survive. We talked this morning with a woman waiting at this same bus stop and she heard from a witness that this was a drive by shooting. It appeared to be gangrelated. There was two people who were wearing red and some people from down the a couple blocks down wearing blue drove up and shot them. Shot whoever was here, innocent people. Reporter investigators right now are going over footage from some of the surveillance cameras in the area hoping to identify the people behind the shooting. So many rounds were fired that it appears two of the bullets went right through the window of a dental office which is across the street from the bus stop and up on the second floor. An employee there, you will hear from her coming up this morning at 8 00 on mornings on 2. She showed up to work this morning stunned. We understand that searchand rescue crews will be meeting at the Tiburon Police department, then making their way to the tibpy ron Ferry Landing to resume the search tiburon Ferry Landing to resume their search. The man is from San Francisco. Hes described by investigators as 6 feet tall, 190 pounds. With brown hair and blue eyes. He was reportedly on an overnight camping trip with his wife and friends on angel island. He was last seen at about 1 00 yesterday morning on his boat which was moored on the island. His wife reported him missing around 6 00 a. M. She thought he might have gone hiking but he never urreturn he never returned. Several answers are taking part in the search including the Tiburon Police department, marin county search and rescue, the marin outlook Sheriffs Department and the and marin Sheriffs Department and the search is to resume less than an hour. Yesterday, a firefighter was injured but hes now reported to be in good condition. Three Santa Clara County correctional deputies accused of beating an inmate to death, are due in court. The three are accused in the beating death of 31yearold Michael Tyree. The deputies face charges of murder, conspiracy and assault under the color of authority. Well, police in santa cruz, they are investigating a double stabbing last night near the Santa Cruz Beach boardwalk. It happened about 8 30 on beach street. The injuries are described as nonlifethreatening. So far theres no word of any arrest. The woman suspected of being in a dui crash, then jumping off the bay bridge and swimming to shore to get away from officers has been captured and arrested. After getting a tip, Police Arrested 25yearold erlynn sanchezedwards in oakland early yesterday morning. About a month ago, investigators say she tried to evade arrest by jumping off the side of the bay bridge. She fell about 70 feet in the water, swam to shore and escaped. After being arrested, Sanchez Edwards was booked on charges of car theft, dui, hit and run as well as resisting arrest. 7 14. Authorities think escaped drug king pin El Chapo Guzman may be back in mexico. There are reports he may have been in a car crash. Witnesses say a man who may have been guzman was taken to a hospital but checked out before police got there. That hospital denies the reports. He escaped from a prison through a tunnel. She said last week that 16year old boy came up to her at a gas station and asked if he could keep an eye on her while she was pumping gas to make sure she was safe. That photo has been shared by more than 200,000 people. All of this comes about a week after Harris County Deputy Darren goforth was shot to death while he was pumping gas. 30yearold shannon miles has been charged with his murder. This happened just before 6 30 near the jackson street offramp to northbound 880. Authorities say one car had a blowout, then swerved and hit hit hit a van. Both vehicles hit a third car. One person suffered moderate injuries. An aide to andrew cuomo is fighting for his life. He was shot in brooklyn early monday morning. Police say that the harvard educated lawyer was leaving a kickoff event for the annual caribbean parade when he was caught in the crossfire between between gangs. This is who police are looking for as we go to a picture. Authorities have identified him as 42yearold wouder. Authorities describe limb as 6 feet tall, 190 him as 6 feet tall, 190 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. Aer shive a a sheriffs boat went out. Crews are gathering near angel island. They say he was on an overnight camping trip with his wife and friends. He was last seen around 1 00 yesterday morning on his boat which was moored near the island. His wife reported him missing around 6 00 a. M. She thought he went hiking but he never returned. Crews spent hours searching for him before calling off the search last night. While angel island is not big, theres a lot of steep terrain. Its a difficult place. There is a lot of Different Things over there. Theres the old immigration center. An old fort and a lot of hazard. You know, its possible somebody could fall and get hurt and be hard to find. Several agencies are taking part in the search including the Tiburon Police department, marin county search and rescue, the marin county Sheriffs Department and the u. S. Coast guard. We even had crews from Contra Costa County out here in the search last night. As we take it back out here, the search is underway. We also asked if there was any signs of foul play. Investigators say its still very preliminary. Their concern is just fienting finding him safe. The coast guard will be using their helicopter as well. San Francisco Police are investigating a shooting at a bus stoop in the mission bus stop in the miss mission district. Alex savidge is live now. Two people were hurt. There was shattered glass beyond the shelter itself, wasnt there . Reporter yeah, there were bullets flying all over this Street Corner. One of the victims was a man in his 50s. He was hit by gunfire and appears to have been an innocent bystander. This happened across the street at a bus stop which is now behind that muni bus which just pulled up. But that shelter itself had quite a bit of glass. A number of shots fired last night. There was also a second victim, that man was in his 20s. It appears as though he may have been the intended target in all of this. The shooting happened around midnight right here at 24th and mission. Now, police at this point havent said what may have prompted the shooting but both men hit by gunfire taken to the hospital. They are both expected to survive. It appears bullets went through a dental office across the street from the bus stop and up on the second floor. An employee showed us this morning that she discovered two bullet holes in the window and shattered glass on the floor. My heart is still rating very racing very much. I wasnt even here. Reporter a witness we talked to earlier this morning who was here at the bus stop around the time of the shooting told us this appeared to be a driveby of some kind and potentially gangrelated. Police were called in after two people boarded the boat and discovered the body. A rescue boat towed the boat back to the dock and the corin ner coroner was called in. A woman suspected of jumping off the bay bridge and swimming to shore to get away from the police was arrested and is in jail. Police arrested 25yearold erlynn sanchezedwards in oakland early yesterday morning. About a month ago, police say she tried to escape being arrested after a dui crash by jumping off the bay bridge. She fell about 75 feet into the water, swam ashore and got away. Sanchezedwards was bocked on charges of booked on charges of car theft, dui, hit and run as well as resisting arrest. Family members of a man killed in a boating accident off Catalina Island are now talking about him. Michael harris was the son of peter harris, 49ers ceo. They were directly hit by another boat early sunday morning. Harriss friends had minor injuries but he died. Now, in the east bay, maybe you are not going to the bridge at all. 580 is sold out all the way to dublin. 880 is backed up from san leandro. 580 is backed up to san leandro and 680 and 24 are still this looks like its still 6 30 heading out to concord from walnut creek. 80 is backed up from hercules. Are you sure you want to go . You have to go, right . You might want to consider taking b. A. R. T. If you drive across the Golden Gate Bridge out of San Francisco, you will get an extra lane of traffic on the bridge but only during the evening commute. Right now, there are three northbound lanes and three southbound lanes in the evening. But thats changing to four and two southbound lanes in order to reduce congestion. The lanes during the morning commute will not change. Well, today scott wiener will call for adding even more subway tunnels in San Francisco. The work is already underway on the Central Project. It will add an underground muni line from the ballpark area. But the supervisor wants to expand the tunnels further in the city including the richmond and sunset districts. Wiener also supports building a second transbay tube to reduce traffic jams between San Francisco and the east bay. 8 36. The biggest wildfire burning here in california continues to grow and now more homes are being threatened. Lightning sparked the fire on july 31st. Since then, its burned 148 square miles. Its only 31 contained this morning. Its been weeks since people had to evacuate their homes. But low humidity, a change in wind direction and high temperatures have put two tiny communities at risk. Yesterday, a firefighter was injured. But hes now reported to be in good condition. Police in santa cruz investigating a double stabbing last night. It happened near the judds beach boardwalk. It happened about 8 30 on beach street. The injuries described as non lifethreatening. Theres no word yet of any arrests. Well, racist graffiti scrawled across five places in one neighborhood. A family in Washington State was stunned to find out that someone broke into their home and sold all of their appliances on craigslist. They say the suspect apparently just moved in for a few days while selling off all of their tools and appliances. The money is not the issue. Its the violation. The fact that somebody would come in and take over and live in my house and have a yard sale, you know, right out my front door. The squatters sold off the washer, dryer, refrigerator, stove, mattress and television. This is wild, too. Three men in florida helped to save a sheriffs deputy attacked by a driver that he pulled over. The deputy says the driver ran a stop sign and almost ran into his motorcycle. Witnesses say when the driver stopped, he got out of the car and started punching deputy ulwhat, in the face and walsh in the face and head. The three men rushed to help the deputy. I just know i had to help him. I know hes in trouble already. I wouldnt let him beat that officer. Hes a man like i am. He has children, a wife and a and a family. Try to get over to 28 or or if you 280 or dont get on the freeway. I know its hard to say. Find a way to get on the freeway after San Francisco if you can. 280 extension, i guess is not bad. Westbound bay bridge still very slow trying to get across. 101 traffic does affect San Franciscobound commuters off the bay bridge. The entire east bay is still slow. Highway 80 from highway 4. 680 from 24. Highway 4 has improved a little bit. But 680 has slowed into san ramon. 880 very slow into fremont. Just to touch on the south bay, 85, 208 and 101 are all very slow. If you are expecting someone at work, they might be a little late. Lets go to steve.
