The woman believed to be in her 20s was here close to the San Jose State University campus. The woman taken to an area, a trauma center. The assault landed her in the hospital and it happened here at the corner of san carlos and fourth. Were across the street from the university campus. They were summoned to the scene around midnight. The woman had a serious head injury. The victim had been beaten up and left on the ground bleeding. The State University police and San Jose Police responded to the scene. San jose pd are leading the investigation and hope to get more detail on this, including more information about the victim and whether she is , in fact, a San Jose State University student. President trump vowing to fight a San Francisco federal judges ruling that blocks the president s executive order to withhold federal funding from sanctuary cities. This is why we have courts. To halt the overreach of a president and attorney general who either dont understand the constitution or choose to ignore it. This is why San Francisco had to stand up on behalf of people everywhere, be they immigrants or native born. The San Francisco Santa Clara County in this legal challenge against President Trumps executive order. The federal judges temporary injunction applies to all sanctuary cities nationwide. There are a lot of communities across the country that are frightened of this administration. And dont have the resources to fight them. And so this is really a National Movement to protect the constitution. Now, the president s executive order would have blocked federal funding to citys that dont cooperate with federal immigration authorities. Twitter posted the strongest growth in active users in more than a year, jumping 6 to 328 million and that led to a betterthanexpected profit. They reported earnings of 11 cents a share blowing past the 1 to 2 cents analysts were expecting. They were in anticipation of the report and right now, looks like its opening up by 8 . Google making changes to route out fake news and in an effort to prevent fake information from showing up. Google is committed to making sure its avoiding spreading misinformation, conspiracy theories, hoaxes and official content and google is adding a feedback option to allow users to complain about objectionable and questionable stories. And the founder founder of wikipedia is on a Similar Campaign against fake news. He launched an Online News Service yesterday called wikitribune. The school board voted to build the school and the Mission Bay Neighborhood. Last night, there was a packed crowd as the school board approved the proposal, supporting building a new Elementary School in that area on land provided by ucsf. The Mission Bay Neighborhood is an up and coming part of San Francisco with a lot of New Buildings and construction underway. The School District is expecting up to 900 new Public School students in that area. Over 100 schoolage children in mission bay who dont have a school to go to. A lot of families are choosing nonpublic options. We want to keep families in San Francisco. The way to do that is to get our kids and have to have opportunities for them to go to Public School. And that was school board the school board may add Affordable Housing for teachers in the area and science, technology, engineering, and a math center. San Francisco City leaders are demanding answers from pg e about the big power outage in the city last week. Pg e blamed a fire in the substation last friday. Nearly 90,000 homes and businesses lost power for seven hours. The fire chief and other city leaders are requesting a tourist damaged substation on larkin street. Theyre also asking for a formal review of all power substations to make sure theyre safe. The San Francisco supervisors plan to hold a hearing on the reported lack of communication during the power outage. Pge is ordered to pay pg e is ordered to pay for one of the most destructive wildfires in history. The 70,000acre butte fire started near the city of jackson in Amador County in september of 2015.
