Mayor libby schaaf expected to make the formal announcement at a News Conference scheduled for 9 am this morning. Officially she said he resigned but a source tells ktvu he was fired. The Bay Area News Group is reporting that mayor libby schaaf has been upset about Sexual Misconduct allegations against four Police Officers accused of having sex with the Underaged Daughter of a police dispatcher. Officials have not confirmed that at this point. Whent has been with the department for 20 years. He took over in 2013 when Howard Jordan and anthony to radio both left the position of chief within the same week. He issued a statement which reads in part i am so proud to have served oakland over the course of my two decadelong career. When i took this job three years ago as interim chief i bowed to help move the department forward and help make oakland safer by forging a stronger relationship with members of this diverse unity. I am proud to have done that. Its important to note that crime rates have dropped, especially over the last year. One more note, it is expected that Deputy Police chief, deputy chief, rather, Benson Fairow from the Bart Police Department is expected to be as interim chief at the 9 am press conference. Earlier in the day it was announced that no charges will be filed in that Sexual Misconduct case involving officers and the underage daughter of a dispatcher. Officer Terrell Smith and at least one other officer lost their jobs as a result of the scandal. Two other officers are on paid administrative leave. The accusations came to light following the suicide of officer Brendan Obrien last fall. Officials say there was insufficient evidence to file charges in the case. The San Francisco Sheriffs Office is sorting through Important Documents that were stuffed in a paper bag in a city hall office. According to the examiner, the bag was found inside a filing cabinet last week. The grocery bag contained three incomplete internal affairs cases. The examiner reports that two of the cases will expire in the next month but that the Sheriffs Department plans to issue rulings on each case before the statute of limitations runs out. A palo alto man is facing hate crime charges in a parking dispute with a taxi driver. This happened to two weeks ago new the transit center. Police say 52yearold david cerner was taking up two Parking Spaces when the victim who police described as an indian man in his 40s, asked him to move. Victim told police that cerner got out of his car and shouted racial slurs. When the victims got his phone to take a picture police say cerner punched in, grabbed his phone and threw it at him. Hayward police are searching for suspects in a shooting that happened dangerously close to a Little League game. A group of physicians is filing a lawsuit against californias new righttodie law which went into effect yesterday. The law allows terminally ill patients to ask for medications and [ null ] to end their lives. Supporters say people with terminal illnesses should have the option to die without excessive suffering. The doctors filing the lawsuit say they have treated patients who thought we were close to death when they werent. Many of them come to us with a preconceived notion that they were going to be in terrible pain and that the outlook is terrible in the only have a couple of months or a year to live. And it turns out that theyve been reading the wrong books are hearing the wrong things. If its something they feel they were really suffer and they dont want their family to suffer with them, then they might be able to make that choice to take the medication. Under the law, patients must be diagnosed as having six months or less to live and ask for the prescription on three separate occasions. In oakland the abduction of three teenage girls is being investigated as a case of human trafficking. All three girls were rescued during raids this week. The victims are 14, 15 and 16. Police say they were tipped off by a witness who saw a man of grabbing one of the girls on a street on wednesday. They are looking for additional victims and suspects who may be involved. An east bay mother is making a plea to the public as Police Search for the killer of her teenage daughter. Unique aubrey at hayward was the mother of a twoyearold son. She was days away from graduating from high school and she was shot and killed while sitting in a car on alameda avenue late tuesday night. She was a good daughter. She was a lovely mom. An elderly disabled woman in San Francisco was killed after being struck by a paratransit bus that had just dropped her off. A fire damaged four buildings in antioch. The started at 3 00 yesterday afternoon. Officials say two homes and two outbuildings were burned. The outbuildings were destroyed. The 11 judge panel ruled the Second Amendment does not give americans the right to carry concealed weapons. The ruling will uphold current state law that applicants must show good cause to get a concealed weapons permit a person who carries a lot of cash might qualify but good cause decisions are left up to local Law Enforcement officials. A group of cal state east bay students are packing for a mission to penna mall early next week. They will deliver badly needed medical supplies to People Living in remote villages of that country. The 34 student volunteers are part of a National Nonprofit organization called, global brigades. They learned from past experience, medical supplies are not the only things in short supply in verbal countries. Two they do not even have toothpaste. This year we will bring a bunch of hygiene kits, simple stuff that will hopefully make an impact in their daily lives. The student volunteers went on a similar mission to nicaragua last were last year. A bicycle stolen from a disabled boy is given a new purpose. Variety Childrens Charity presented the bike to the Solano County Children Services medical therapy unit. After the bike was stolen from its original owner, donors pitched in to get that child a new bike please recover the stolen bike so it was repaired so it could be used to help disabled children.
