There were some unofficial ones as well. Temperatures 88 and 106 for some, and remember last sunday. A week ago sunday livermore was 65 degrees. 65 degrees one week ago and yesterday they were 106. Some of this cloud cover came in overnight, and came off of the sierra, unbelievably rare to see Something Like this in june. The hot weather made it difficult for firefighters in the noma county as they battled a mobile home fire. They were called to the home in santa rosa but were unable to say the woman trapped by the flames. Reporter i heard her scream. When it went up, and it was black smoke and the fire came out and all i could hear was that woman screaming inside. Reporter the neighbors recall the terrifying moments the fire ripped through the home and killing the woman inside, and it left ms. Smith visibly shaken. It was awful. Ive seen things on tv but never in 1 million years. Reporter the firefighters were called out to the home but the fire was spreading so fast that there was little hope of rescuing anyone inside. They were able to get it under control in 20 minutes. The entire awning and everything went up quick, and the back of the house was engulfed in flames. Reporter the fire started in the rear bedroom and the cause is unknown. The husband of the victim along with her son were able to escape the flames, and the fire was just too intense. It was too hot for me to get in when i got there. Reporter the husband of the victim tried to rescue his wife who was trapped in the master bathroom in the back of the mobile home. The hot temperatures did not contribute to the spread of the fire but they called it more personnel in the triple digit heat to rotate the crews out. We have more rigs in here because we need the manpower sharing more than we need the equipment. Reporter they believe this could have caused a lot of the materials to burn. It is really sad. I knew the woman and she was my friend. The victim had lived there for 26 years and while her name is not been released she was 67 years old.
