The driver of a walmart truck is facing charges for the crash that critically injured comedian tracy morgan and killed a fellow comedian. One in Critical Condition and the other in stable condition. These three victims were believed to be friends. No arrest have been made in the case. 90 minutes later in and a few miles away, there was another deadly shooting in oakland. A man was found face down in the middle of the street at 48th after and foothill boulevard. Police have not yet released his identity and they have not released any information on a suspect after attacking a man with a meat cleaver. It happened when a victim confronted the suspect while he was in the midful roll of a car burglary. They used k9 unit to track down 24yearold john hawkins. The sheriffs deputies say he was taking out the trample 40yearold timothy midget was on garbage duty when he ran away from the hall of justice yesterday morning. He was scheduled to be released in six weeks after serving time for drug possession. People living near Roosevelt Elementary School in redwood city may see police and firefighters racing down the street this morning, but dont worry. This is all just a drill. This active Shooter Training drill started at the school just a few minutes ago. Its going to last until 2 00 p. M. The drill gives a chance of how they would respond on campus. Some streets on euclid and mcgarvey avenues are going to be closed to traffic during this drill. A fire at a scrap yard in hayward started after 1 30 yesterday afternoon at sims medal management on industrial parkway on whipple road. In the past eight months, theres been three fires at bay area medal yards owned by the sims company. There were two fires just weeks apart at the sims yard in redwood city and in november and december of last year. Investigators determine arson was to blame for the second fire, but no one was ever arrested and yesterdays hayward fire was not the first at the site. Back in 2009, firefighters also responded to an arson there. It is kind of strange.
