John paul garcia is in the intensive care unit. He has spinal cord injuries and broken bones. Last wednesday night at 945 garcia was in the crosswalk on four oaks and hows 2e9er when witnesses say a car ran a red light and hit him and left the scene. The family says he was told his body flew at least 20 feet knocking him out of his shoes. Garcia had gone to buy ice cream for his nephew and on his way home when he was hit. Its harder for me because my brother the reason why he left the house that night was to get ice cream for my son. And i think that is what hurts me is my son blames himself. And we just want to find you know who did it. And i dont want my son to blame himself. Reporter the family says they understand accidents happen but they want the person responsible to own up to their actions. All police have to go on is the suspects car may have been a black colored sedan. Anyone with information is being asked to call police. Two people were injured after multiple shootings during this ecdyses pride celebration. This is cell phone video taken at 6 30 last night just minutes after witnesses reported hearing gunshots. No one was injured but a man was arrested in the area with two guns. Both people who were shot are expected to survive their injuries. All three incidents happen near the end of yesterdays parade route. Police are asking anyone who saw anything or any information on what led up to the violence to please come forward. We are still waiting to hear from police on how many toe total arrests were made over the weekend. So far we do know that 75 people were arrested on saturday alone. 65 of those arrests were for public intoxication. Six felony arrests were made for assault and weapons violations and four people were arrested on misdemeanor charges.
