People fishing near the bridge found a human torso on sunday. The victim was a woman and the location where the woman was found is being treated as a crime scene. There are indications that the body was dismembered and they are now trying to recover other body parts. The coroner is identifying partial remains to determine how that woman died. San jose mayor speaking about the reinstatement of a Police Officer fired over a series of controversial tweets. Richardo wants to reinstate phil whyte. He was fired after making comments on twitter. In those tweets officer whyte threatened to kill people that criticized him. An arbitrator found the firing was unjustified given that whyte made the threat against people that are threatening violence against him. The mayor things the council, the city council has recourse. Having a conversation with my colleagues about whether to take the arbitrators decision to the superior court by w rit so we may shed light on the decision as well as to defend what was a sound decision, the police chief. The city council did not take up the matter today and will discuss a possible challenge to officer whytes reinstatement next tuesday. We are looking more about a police chase that tied up the morning commute along the bay bridge. It turns out that off duty San Francisco Police Officer helped to bring the chase top end. An officer spotted a man violating the three person requirement Tuesday Morning at the toll plaza and led the police on a short chase and spun out before the tunnel. He got out of his vehicle and started to runaway. We continued to chase him. Reporter ch p said the man ran through the tunnel. In the meantime flames ripped through a place of worship in the east bay this morning. The fire broke out at the oakland Cambodian Buddhist temple in the 5200 block on 52nd avenue. Firefighters say a group of monks left hundreds of unattended candles burning before heading to bed. They are part after traditional buddhist celebration. The fire destroyed the temple and damaged several nearby homes. Two monks were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. It is still under investigation for the exact cause. But there were approximately anywhere from up to one thousand candles and thats part of the tradition that they burn the candles. The monks that live at the temple have vowed to rebuild. For now, they are counting their blessings that no one was seriously injured or killed. In Pleasanton Police announced the arrest of two suspects accused of Violent Attacks at a Shopping Mall this past weekend and those suspects have been link to a carjacking at a bart station. John sasaki has more on these new developments. Reporter the mall here in pleasanton is where people well to do people shop. My daughter ran away for life because she saw a gun. This man wanted to stay anonymous says his daughter was with a 17yearold girl that was punched in the face and robbed of her purse by three young man by pf changs restaurant. He pulled something that looked like a gun and my daughter ran to the mall and she said i didnt even run in a straight line, i did zig zags because nobody will shoot me. The girl attacked survived with minor injuries as did the 63yearold woman knocked and kicked and robbed of her purse the same area sunday afternoon. They were violent. In between the two crimes the robbers carjacked someone at the bart station. The description matched our case and in looking at the Surveillance Video from the bart station, we saw the honda pilot that was used in our robbery was seen during the carjacking. On monday Oakland Police saw the Mercedes Benz in the carjacking and used in the second one at stone bridge. They pulled it over and arrested two of the suspects. Reports that someone had a rifle or shotgun and a long gun and that was determined to be an air soft rifle that was determined. Despite the arrests of the two suspects, each of whom is 17 years old. Stone ridge mall may never look the same to the victims or their families. This is the easiest of the victims and if youre 17 years old and you can do that, what is going on in your head. One robber is loose and right now other Police Agencies are look together two in custody to see if they may have been responsible for more crimes. In pleasanton. John sasaki, fox 2 news. The family of inmate that died in santa rita jail file a wrongful death lawsuit in federal court as supporters called for justice. No justice no peace. 29yearold Mario Martinez died in custody in jail. Attorneys for his mother fired suit against the sheriff and the county of alameda and corizon. 2 investigates said that he was not treat for nasal polyps to block his breathing despite orders to do so. He ended up having an asthma attack and died in july. The polyp condition and the asthma was not a death warrant. There was no reason for him to have died under the circumstances in which he did. You are incarcerated but that doesnt mean you should die in jail. Nobody should die and lose their life. 2 investigates have been looking into corizon for months and has uncovered a series of problems and lawsuits across the country and serious questions about who is overseeing the quality of the care that corizon provides in alameda county. And then checked on this white horse and she found ten cookie treats and she learned this he were laced with a poisonous plant that were used to attract the animals. They had shredded carrots and apples and oats on top. In each pile one of the cookies was soaked in molasses. Oscar survived but other animals turned up dead. I have a dog that was found dead bleeding from the nose and mouth. The last couple of days, i have around the corner, a llama dead for unknown reasons. Add to the list two alpacas died because of toxic exposure. People said with so many animals dead they think it is all connected. I am hearing of more cases that are popping up. And people who thought that their situation was isolated are now finding out that, no, it is there is it all seems to be in this area. Authorities say no cookies were found in connection with the other animals deaths. And deputies are following up on leads that they say identified a person of interest. Dogs would be banned from the park 80,000 acres but it would allow dogs into 22 areas. Only five though would allow off leash walking.
