We also spoke to oakland representative barbara lee. What we need to do is establish the independent commission that was introduced in congress. The speaker needs to call us back to debate this and set it up. She said that the republicans control the show so she does not know if her request will be granted but she said democrats should not stop fighting. In the meantime, the Senate Investigation into russian influence is going forward. They have subpoenaed former National Security advisor Michael Flynn for documents in the case, former National Security advisor Michael Flynn was fired by President Donald Trump after less than a month on the job for lying about his contacts with the russian government. Surveillance video and footage from a San Francisco Police Officers body camera shows what happened inside of a Subway Sandwich shop that led the police to kill a man. The video shows the man attacking a employee with a knife and three bystanders intervened. Reporter police said Nicholas Flusche ordered a sandwich but refused to pay. He wept behind the counter and attacked the employee with a knife. A woman grabbed a tray, trying to hit Nicholas Flusche. The victim and witness began to flee from behind the counter and mr. Nicholas flusche followed the victim and the witness with a knife in his hand. Reporter a video shows the knife in Nicholas Flusches right hand. Police are not sure if he grabbed it from the counter or brought it in with him. The video shows the employer shooting him as he continues to go after the victim. One officer fired one shot. Henry spoke with some of the victims. Reporter nobody has been hurt by the fires but the flames have come close to homes and now investigators are trying to find who ever is responsible. An arsonist is on the loose in Contra Costa County, three times this week a fire bug has torched cars on driveways leading to explosions and flames coming close to homes, at 3 00 in the morning, someone set this toyota on fire in martinez. Flames destroyed the sixer v and the owners driveway still bears the scars from the fire. It felt like a violation, i love my car but it was a violation of yie privacy and what i need and its happening over and over. It happened twice wednesday morning with back to backfires. There is a vehicle in the driveway on fire. Reporter this is all that is left from a fire in walnut creek. Neighbors are rattled. Is this going to escalate. I hope not. You hope that there is not a connection between all of the places where this has happened. Some of the same fire crews put out this fire in lafayette. Reporter the lack of lines and customers prompted a contant question from the curious in livermore. The restaurant was closed after complaints from customers suffering illness, shocking news for people that travel far for what is billed as the freshest burger in the business. Reporter the company confirmed that nine customers complained of flu like symptoms after eating at the livermore location, they said they cleaned and disinfected the facility and screened the staff and associates. The mayor of livermore praised their decision to be closed. While you do the investigation, its best to take as many precautions as you can. One owner said he heard that someone ate at the restaurant and got sick. All four people became sick. This woman said she and relatives all had burgers and all were vomiting after an hour, she went to the hospital. Executives of the company said an internal investigation did not turn up issues they restaurant. The mayor said its too soon to know for sure if the bug was in the food or brought in from the outside. When you have an outbreak like this, its easy to figure out where it came from. A rancher was moving in cattle in january when the mer merced river was rising. They are stranded and now the sheriff used the county helicopter to drop 2tons of hey for the cows to eat. Those cows really appreciated it. The rancher estimates that each cow has lost 300 pounds. The 2 tons of hey will feed the animals for a week. East bay home owners could see their water rates increasing this week. The proposal would increases water use costs by 20 . The utility said they are grateful that customers conserved water during the drought but because of the conservation efforts, they said they lost 12 of their revenue and they need the money to pay for infrastructure. East bay mud has a proposal for a two tier rate increase, one in july and one in 2018, thats not sitting well with some home owners. We did all of the steps to reduce our water usage. We put in low flow shower heads, and the reward is, nothing. They said that the average home owner will see a increase of 34 a month in july if the rate hike is approved. East by mud will hold a public hearing on july 11th and if approved the rate increase goes into effect may 12th. Lets talk about the weather. Lawmakers are demanding answers about a proposed medical experiment on dogs at the los angeles va medical center. The experiment involves giving 18 dogs antidepressants or meth. They will then kill the dogs to test the bodies response. One lawmaker said no federal agency should be doing this and if true, he said that the dogs are being abused. Some members are congress are demanding to know more about the experiment. When you look at the vas documents, they talk about observational studies of the dogs.
