Oklahoma city but predictably not so fond of the move pick nationally a healthy mix of all, Marcin Gortat opining are they going to score 200 points a game . And skepticism, you saw a little bit at the end of last year. The public sort of turned on them. Now they will really turn on them. They look like bullies, 1 . Bards already have been has an offer sheet. With andrew bogut the warriors are going to treat him right, make every effort to put him in a situation thats good for him and dallas seems to be that situation. It will be a trade but a one sided trade because golden state cant bring on more salary. They will send him to dallas. Supposedly some interest from the portland trail blazers on festus ezeli. Well see about that in the coming days. You were talking about financially the warriors couldnt pay a lot more for durant than o. K. C. , but they think the big decision the bottom line, where he had a chance to win. Yeah. You can make more money staying put. Over the long haul, he could have made about 50 million more with o. K. C. Over the next six years if he had stayed there. You talking about 225 versus 175 million for a guy who has also got a shoe deal worth 300 million so hes going to be fine. He wants to win. He was impressed by the cadre of talent and executives that paid him a visit a couple of days ago. Plus he has relationships with those guys. It comes down to winning and where are you going to be happy . They convinced him, steph and draymond and steve kerr, jerry west, they convinced him youll be happy and golden state. All right. Im excited, just excited. Ending it with the hashtag new beginnings are good. Now to the fourth of july holiday. While many people spent the day with barbecues and parades, tonight most most plans will include fireworks. The big question is will the fog cloud the big Fireworks Show in San Francisco . Live across the bay, you can see it right there, the fog moving in, in the city earlier this morning. When i walked outside i thought its not too good. The upshot is definitely jackets in the city and even in oakland for the fireworks, see how deep it is . Its 2000 feet deep. The top of that layer of fog, that means its going to get in the coaster hills. That means as you look at this, the fireworks will be fired underneath that. Too bad. Pretty reasonable. In some ways its a matter of taste but i like it when you have a deck on top like that because you get reflectivity component of the fireworks. So going to San Francisco, oakland, anywhere on the bay, you should get ready for some jacket weather. Inland, the weathers going to be fine. Livermore valley, over to san rafael, high clouds for the marin county fair, the fireworks. More fog over up at grizzly peak. Fourth of july forecast along the coast, middle low clouds, partly cloudy around the bay, around san jose, that should be fine, fireworks event. The ones you worry about, its going to go off without a hitch. Just going to be chilly. Foggy out there, a lot of fog again, high enough, they will blast underneath at the model conclusion, you can see whats going on. So the fog sticks around and it continues to keep us kind of cool as we move into the bay area work week. I hate to talk about the work week right now but take a jacket out there, fireworks will go off fine. Its just going to be chilly. Thanks, bill. Tonights big Fireworks Show in San Francisco will go on with or without the fog. Ktvus cara liu talked with the shows producer about how they plan to deal with the weather and what people can expect to see tonight. Reporter fingers crossed, the weather holds up. Frankly the fog is a very regular part of the San Francisco skyline here. So its nothing new to the shows producers. They say you never really know exactly what the weather is going to do until 9 30. They promised a good show regardless. On two barges at pier 50, crews were busy putting on the fission inching touches for tonights Fireworks Show in San Francisco. Finishing up unloading the aerial shells into the tubes. Making the electrical connection to the network and putting out lowlevel effects that will perform at a lower altitude. Reporter the 23 minute show is run on a computerbased firing system, about 5000 effects per barge, one near pier 39, the other aquatic park. Show time is 9 30. The producer hopes the fog will clear by them. But they are prepared for anything. We know the possibilities are there. We planned for that using lower level effects. That will normally perform under the layer of fog. You cant do that throughout the entire so we mix up the altitude and usually works out pretty well. Reporter at fishermans wharf, folks were bundled up in red, white, and blue taking in the sights and families eagerly anticipating the big show and the celebration of americas freedom. Today is all about independence. And i am a disabled vet. I cant explain that. Is just a special moment. Just a special moment. Feeling your country and all. Growing up we had so much fun with fireworks and just a tradition we want to pass down to our kids. Its once a year that you can just be around so many people and enjoy what this great nation has to offer. Reporter at aquatic park by early afternoon dozens of families had staked out their ground at one of the best viewing spots along the waterfront. By the time everybody gets here, its like walltowall people. Those two barges will be positioned about 1000 feet offshore. As you can see thousands of people already out here now getting ready for the big Fireworks Show tonight. That show scheduled to last a total of 23 minutes, the start time, 9 30 tonight. I cant wait. Should be a lot of fun. Thanks so much. Among the most popular Independence Day events in the bay area is the annual fourth of july parade in danville. Organizers say about 40,000 people turned out for todays event on hartz avenue. Not bad for a town with a population of about 43,000. The flow, marching band the, military vehicles were all big draws. Some people had been attending the parade for 30 years. And in alameda, people are very proud of their parade which they say is one of the longest in the nation. Volunteer organizers turn out early in the morning to get the threemile long parade line in shape. Parade managers joke saying half the town is in this parade. The other half watches it. This year alameda honored James Sweeney by naming him grand marshal of todays fourth of july parade. Sweeney has been a civic leader since the early 1970s. It is the busiest fourth of july travel weekend in more than a decade. Chp wants you to know youre not alone on the roads. New at 5 30, we right along as officers track down crackdown on traffic offenders. Plus, while many bay area cities banned all fireworks, several provide designated areas where people can set them off. Coming up next, we find families who made a special trip to light fireworks off together. While many communities have banned all fireworks a handful of towns not only allow fireworks sales but they also go one step further. Ktvus rob roth went to one town in the east bay today where fireworks are more than welcome. Reporter fireworks on the fourth of july go together like champagne and new years eve. For some families its even better when you can light your own. While may many cities have banned all fireworks, dublin is one of seven cities where fireworks are not only legal but the town also provides designated areas where people can set them off. In this case a parking lot near city hall. s father and three children drove here from livermore where fireworks are illegal. Patriotic but also really fun way to bond and its exciting. Every parent is a little bit worried about getting sparklers and things like that but its night that dublin has a set up. Reporter while the fireworks dont match the big city extravaganzas, they can still be pretty cool especially when you are pretty young. I like it reporter this family came in from san ramon where fireworks are also illegal. The big shows are fun, but you sort of watch them. This, you can actually be part of it. Reporter at this fireworks stand in downtown, proceeds from the sale are going to a cheerleading program. Others are helping support other charities but up in the hills, neighbors are uneasy especially those who live below areas with dry grass where a spark from a firecracker could mean trouble. Its always windy in dublin as you can see. Theres a lot of dry tall grass and illegal fireworks that people set off right behind our house, so that is a big concern. Reporter the Alameda County Fire Department says it has extra patrols out for today and tonight and police say theyll be on the lookout for any illegal fireworks. In dublin, rob roth, ktvu fox 2 news. Today is the last day of the biggest county fair in the bay area and the Alameda County fair is expecting its biggest crowd. For more on the bay area fourth of july events, log onto ktvu. Com. At the top of the homepage, youll find information on all of the festivals and Fireworks Shows happening tonight. So lets check in now with our chief meteorologist bill martin to find out what its going to be like not only in San Francisco, we talked about the fog but other areas where people are going to be gathering. On the upshot, fire danger, fireworks and those concerns. The pattern is below average temperatures, so fire danger, if this was last week, triple digit heat, fireworks and heat and dry environment. Nasty fire conditions but we are in a pretty good situation in terms of the weather. Obviously provides fog for the San Francisco event and the oakland event but it also really helps dampen up the atmosphere to keep the fires from starting so easily. So i think its good. Id rather have it this way quite frankly. Look at the fog, right now, its already in San Francisco. Across into know he valley across into the berkeley area, shooting across the bay. Parts of tiburon, youve got fog and low clouds. The fog is shooting across the avenues, across 19 and over to the ballpark, more fog into san bruno. As we get into the evening hours, that is going to start rushing inland, 2000 feet deep. Temperatures today because of the extent extended depth are about five degrees cooler than they were yesterday at this time. So its cooler out there. The numbers right now, lots of 70s, a week or so ago, triple digit heat. Very different environment. This is much more, if you are a firefighter, you like seeing this. Especially when youve got a lot of folks with fireworks. Look how brown things are, that helps. Mount diablo in the district in the distance. Marine layer stretches out because of the low pressure system thats going to live off of our coast for this entire week. What does that mean . More cool weather ahead. Forecast for fog at 10 00, 9 30, 10 00, fireworks get going. Oakland in the fog, pretty field, under it. Fireworks will happen. But youre going to see very cool conditions, even in marin county at the civic center for their Fireworks Show. Once you get over the hill into the Livermore Valley into Contra Costa County, fireworks are going to be fine. Big deep marine layer into napa, concord, antioch and brentwood. So a lot of fog, theres your forecast highs when you see temperatures in the 90s here, look at the bay area, basically 60s and 70s. Tomorrow for the forecast high. Get out of fairfield and antioch and brentwood, might find some low 80s. But thats it, temperatures in the mild side. 82 in gilroy, 80 livermore. And the fiveday forecast, so for my money, its nice to have , you want it to be perfect for people in the city but its nice not to have it be 100 degrees and a red and a red flag warning. I hate to sound like grandpa bill. But its true. The fire season, taking one spark to light a fire. Right. The conditions are good. All right. Well see you later. Cal fire has reduced the size of this fire to 310 acres. There are reports of a firefighter who was injured and one structure was damaged. Just north of there, firefighters are making progress on a wildfire on el dorado and plaster counties. Cal fire reports that the trailhead fire is now 25 contained. It started last tuesday and has burned more than 5400 acres. Is threatening about 2600 homes and other structures near todd valley and volcano phil, but none have been damaged. Some El Dorado County residents are under mandatory evacuation orders, but the cause of this fire is also under the station. Now we head to kern county where firefighters are reporting their the most destructive fire ever is now 95 contained. The erskine fire broke out 12 days ago near Lake Isabella and has spread across 48,000 acres. Two people were killed and almost 300 homes and other structures destroyed. Investigators also looking into what sparked that fire. Back here in the bay area, slightly cooler weather, a good thing for firefighters but lets go back to bill in the weather center. To really dive in the forecast. That sitin zach lee. You about the fires from earlier, were not really talking about fires today which traditionally temperatures in the 90s, one or two brushfires, knock on wood, but this pattern is such that the fire danger is less than it typically would be this time of year especially on the fourth of july which is important to have it. Youll need a jacket out at christie field and alameda beach fireworks. But the upside to that is were seeing higher fuel moistures, higher humidity, cooler temperatures. Better news for firefighters. So as you look outside, you see the fog already pushing up of the court, the marine layer is 2000 feet deep. Thats deep. Or 1800 or Something Like that. Coastal hill averages about 1000 feet. The fog is already, you see it here live, spilling into the bay. Into berkeley and oakland and alameda. And its coming in at a Higher Elevations of the fireworks will be most likely going off unhitched or without a hitch because youll be under them. I said it earlier, the fog right now along the peninsula and south, i like sometimes when its like that especially the rest and reflect video of the cloud deck, underneath it was kind of cool. Minus four in fairfield, minus 17 concord so cooler right now than it was last night. You knew that. Its going to be cooler as we go to the next couple of days, interesting shot from the lafayette area and look at that fog, grizzly peak and when you see the fog coming up of that, grizzly peak is probably i should know the height, im going to guess 900 feet, almost 1000 feet. So it is contouring. But this will lift up as the sun gets lower on the horizon. The fog will be high enough that it will go off without a hitch and if you are out in walnut creek or the east bay you should be fine for fireworks as well. Marine layer is about 1500 feet right now but it will stretch out to about 1800. This low Pressure Center is the reason for that stretching. Thats the reason were not going to have a heat wave. Its the reason the air quality is going to be good. Its also the reason we arent looking for a high fire or a red flag warning. So San Francisco tomorrow morning, theres a cloud cover. I know youve got to go to work tomorrow, sorry, tomorrow morning looks like that. Looks like that when you go for lunch, and then it looks like that late in the day. So it will clear off. San jose now, we will check in with san jose, start off with a few clouds because the marine layer is so deep, it will get into fremont but not quite into san jose. And in my lunch time, there it is. And as we guess, clear in the afternoon at 4 00. But we know its plenty of sunshine and highs just in the upper 70s as opposed to the 80s that we saw not too long ago, 80s and even low 90s last week. 77 in san jose tomorrow, 80 in morgan hill, theres the forecast for your today, lets go to tonights fireworks, take a jacket, fiveday forecast is a dry, cool one. Look at the top tier number, those should be 90s this time of year. That would be livermore and antioch. And were looking at upper or mid80s and low 80s. Is the fog sticking around all week long . I think so. Below hangs out and it just continues to pump the cool moist air in. So firefighters are going to be a little bit on stand out. They can relax because the pattern is typically good for them. Were seeing the trend of them gaining more control over the wildfires. Hopefully they can reach for containment. And it helps. It does help the big fires going up, the yuba fire and places like that. Thank you, bill.
