But its clear that clinton will be our nominee. And i just feel its really important especially given what the republicans are putting out there for democrats to unite now behind the candidate who will be our nominee. Those already started running. So today Hillary Clinton is now jumping in. Her ads start today. So the battle here heating up. She thought she would have a major advantage and perhaps it would be an easy win in this state. Not so fast, Bernie Sanders and her now neck and neck. Its only going to heat up even more as this goes on. Itll be interesting to see what she says to the supporters out here. This campaignen event was announced two days ago. It wasnt planned. Law enforcement have condition des tanned someone in connection with detained someone in connection with the double shooting of the novato students. Over an hour ago a Tactical Team raided a house. At the scene our reporter says he could see an armored Sheriffs Department humvy in the driveway. They believe this is one of the three suspects they have been looking for in connection with the stabbing and shooting of the two teens yesterday. As i mention one of those teens died. The other is in stable condition at the hospital. That according to to Law Enforcement. Now just a short time ago the Sheriffs Department said they obtained a search warrant for the house and for one person. Earlier today search and rescue teams went back over the area where the crime occurred near fairway drive. They had specially trained dogs helping out there. They also were looking for any more evidence that could link anyone to what happened yesterday. One of the victims did Contact Police yesterday at about 5 00 p. M. Saying he had been shot and stabbed. Authorities rushed to the hospital and they found the body, authorities rushed that person to the hospital. They also found the body of another teen there by a waterfall off the trail at the end of fairway drive. No word if the suspect is from the same school or any of the individuals theyve been looking for. And the motive still not known at this time. All right. You saw it there. They did it. Authorities say they believe it is they believe excuse me, its a gold saturn 1997 with the license plate 5xzd385. And they believe that the 15yearold girl pearl pinson was abducted wednesday morning in vallejo on her way to school. She may have been shot after a man believed to be Fernando Castro was seen pulling her across the pedestrian overcrossing above highway 780. Initially the man had a gun and her face was bleeding and she was yelling for help. When the witness ran to get help he heard a gunshot. Investigators found blood and her cell phone left behind and thats why theyre concerned about her well being. We believe pearl could very well be being kept against her will. And again we want to give her medical attention if need be and bring her home to her family. Authorities say pinson and castro are acquaint tenses but they are not dating each other. They did serve a search warrant at his home. He lives with his family. They say they found troubling notes and writings there which make them more concerned. Theyve set up a tip line for anyone with leads in the case to give them a call. So call the Sheriffs Office but just minutes ago the Sheriffs Office tweeting that they did at least believe that they have found the suspects car. There was possible some type of shootout. Kids can take on different roles of producer, writer and animator and produce a really polished video. Then sites like wiki spaces where they can build a website from the ground up. Whether theyre near or afar. And individual talents. I think thats something that kids would be interested in. And i think thats something that would last them the entire summer. Or scratch where we call it a sandbox tool. They put together coding blocks to make games and animation and models. Minecraft is the mother of them all. It began with a bid to replace kitchen windows with something for Energy Efficient. I wanted to be able to filter out the heat and also have it protected in the winter. I asked for an e3. E3 refers to the number of codings on the glass. Making it more Energy Efficient and more expensive. So was this a big part of the conversation. The person that came out he was so great and told me yeah you want the e3s this is what you want. And i said oh good ive got to make sure im getting the right thing. And that person who marked e3 on the contract who charged 31 3,100 and signed on the bottom line as company representative. A lot of customers requested e3. Was mark torres. She asked for e3 did she get it. No. Weve contained more than a dozen contracts from homes across the bay area where this now fired employee claims neither his company nor the contractor clear vision delivered or installed the correct windows. And on the contract you told them they were getting. E3. What did they get. They got e2. Thats a big deal. Would any homeowner know this . They have no clue. San jose professor and window competitor keith perry says this professional device can tell with just one look. Place the meter on the glass. And time after time. Surface is two. Rerevealed it to be different from the contract order. The contract says three. Its a two. We tested 13 homes this way. And found some discrepancies in 12 of them. From san mateo to fremont to redwood city. And here at these livermore homes. On both of these houses every window is not what they paid for. I think its a violation of the owners trust. This is illegal in this area. In livermore. Illegal he believes because he believes e3 glass is the only way to get to the Energy Savings required by california state law in most areas. Is that a problem . Thats a problem. They have to replace this because it wouldnt pass inspection. Did the company know . I made andrew aware. And animar doesnt know what he promises customers. Shouldnt they know . He worked for them why didnt they know . Animar. Mark torres is an independent contractor where he makes his own contract with customers. To back up his claims he provided records of what torres ordered and what they actually delivered but so far has not. Did your client try to rip off these homeowners . No my client. Did your client try to rip these customers off . My client did not rip these customers off. Torres disagrees. Do you believe its bigger . He believes its bigger than his few claims do you believe theres more . I would assume so. If thats how their practicing their business towards the end that i was there im sure they did that before. As this home, her one case has now changed her view. We see all the birds out there. What once seemed so clear. I think they should replace everyone windows and i think they should be penalized somehow for doing it. Its just not right. All right so the Company Tells ktvu that if they find that any customer did not get what they paid for they will replace every window for free. The customer featured in that story actually called last night and said without admitting any wrong doing the company agreed to replace all of her windows and has come out to take measurements. Meanwhile the Company Attorney claims their former employee torres has been harassing and threatening employees. Even a customer. Theyve now gotten a temporary restraining order against him. They also claim he once forge add check. But hes never been charged with any crime. The company says its all his fault torres says its theirs. And customers are caught in the middle. But even if it is a he said, she said, that device showed the customers did not get what they paid for. How many times do i go see you in an hour. Fix the window. You dont think about it. The survey of latinos and other immigrants who cant afford cars and despite that they have serious concerns about taking Public Transit. With us now one of the researchers for the transportation substitute. Thanks for being Institute Thanks for being here with us. Good to be here. You interviewed 14 low income many imgrants and the other one you surveyed 21 people in the bay area. We work with social services to recruit low income latino immigrants to understand the barriers they face. And use the results to develop a survey they we administrated at stations and bus stops and flee markets places to get not only a high number of people but a high concentration of immigrants. The 14 people were the jumping off point to get you to the wider survey. Yes. Talking to all the people you identified five major bare riers. Safety was a major concern. Most of them had a story about physical violence or verbal abuse. Not necessarily on the vehicle itself but on the way to and from as well. In the process. Absolutely. Discrimination was the second factor. And this wasnt a universal concern in the survey or the interviews, but latino immigrants who didnt speak english well felt they were at a disadvantage when transit staff or operators didnt accommodate their needs. And also cost. 60 of the immigrants in the survey said they would take it more if it were more affordable. So that means theyre foregoing of trips or having to way other ways that cost less to get around which is difficult to do. Which means riding a bike. Riding a bike, walking, getting rides with friends. Safety, discrimination, transit cost what about the the signs. We called it in we put reading the signs and native language and theres lots of different systems. And people didnt understand how they worked together and what the different cost structures were. How about the reliability of the system . Am i going to get where im going. So again 60 of the respondents in the survey missed a trip within the last month because the bus never came or passed them by. There was concern about missing work or appointments because they couldnt get where they needed to go. When you look at the five major reasons for the safety concerns, discrimination, and cost you can understand why low income immigrants would be hesitant. But why do the study . Where do you go with this information . We did it because immigration is in the National Consciousness right now. Not only from the political standpoint but the demographic in the country. And in the bay area a third of the residents are immigrants. We dont always understand the needs of immigrants on the system so it was important to do. Were hoping some of the findings we published in the report transit agencies will be able to use. And some have already done work towards this. So the Youth Program is a way to help people in poverty lower their cost in transportation. Safety concerns, working with local Law Enforcement and the Public Transit police and the Community Leaders to help make the safer from start to end. And you provided this with the necessary officials to hope they make the change. Its up to them to implement. And its a political process so its difficult and a long way to go.
