Southbound 880 from 238 as you drive past the 92 interchange and all the we down into fremont. Enolate go back police have arrested a local interstainment promoter in the case. Reporter police found the body of a 31yearold woman inside of the theater and they are not saying who she is or how she died they are only saying her death is suspicious. Police have arrested this man. He is 48yearold Harris Rosenbloom seen here in a promotional video. He was leasing the great star and trying to renovate it but he hasnt had much success raising money. When officers arrived at the theater they found him alongside his lawyer and body. Police say there was probable cause to believe he was the person responsible after gathering evidence from the scene and from the phone call to sfpd. Rosenbloom has been booked into the jail. Rosenbloom has been involved in the Entertainment Industry since the 90s. He was the creator of the capitol design festival. A fouryearold boy from stockton is recovering this morning after he jumped out of a moving car that was stolen as he sat inside. Later today San Franciscos mayor will put more Affordable Housing on the market. Mayor lee will introduce a 250 million housing bond. 50 100million will be used for public housing. Most will be going to rehabilitate. 100million to 2,000. It will not raise the taxes. For the last two decades we have not had an Affordable Housing bond that has passed. Because in the past they were thinking about raising taxes. Now is not the time to be raising peoples taxes. The mayor is hoping to put the bond measure on the november ballot. Some People Living in the east bay are waking up with two fewer fire stations to serve them just as the fire season gets under way. Yesterday the Fire District closed the knights and Fire District. Voters failed to pass a parcel tax so the district now has three fire stations and nine firefighters for more than 100,000 residents. Of course that means for many people especially Bethel Island residents the fire Response Times are going up. It scares the heck out of me. God forbid. That is pretty scary. I know a few years back right down the road here there was a big fire in a home and it burnt to the ground. The chief says the fire Response Time will go as high as 15 minutes for some calls. He also says the price of Fire Insurance could triple and some people may no longer qualify for coverage. A leaky fire hydrant has been replaced after a ktvu viewer told us her complaints were going unanswered. She noticed it about a month ago and called east bay mud twice and was told the leak would be fixed. They want us to cut back to where it hurts but they wont take care of their own problems. That is the decision of a panel opponented by governor jerry brown. The Citizens Compensation Committee voted to partially restore deep cuts to pay and benefit. The commission had cut lawmakers pay by 18 during the recession. Family members and state Assembly Members will earn 100,000 a year. Its a big celebration for students and parents in oakland. Last night was the 14th annual African American honor roll celebration. Each of the students earned a 3. 0 grade point average or higher including eric willis. He is now planning to go on to college to become a lawyer. His parents say eric worked hard to bring his grade point average from a 1. 9. People say you cant make it, you know, in Oakland Unified School district and you cant make it in oakland million well, its not so. Living proof that its not so. And im excited. Were excited too. Willis says they have an older daughter who is also the product of the Oakland School system and that she has earned a ba in psychology. They are still in high school but already a group of students are training to become professional firefighters thanks to a unique partnership. Alex savidge explains how this program will help the Berkeley Fire Department hire more home grown talent. Reporter from the coat to the pack to the mat these beck lie high students are finding out firsthand what it takes to fight fire. But this isnt just a chance to dress up in the gear, its serious training. These students juniors and seniors are taking part in the schools fire science classes. With the help of berkeley firefighters they learned to operate the equipment and understand the physical skills required for the job. It was a lot more than i expected it to be. Just makes me know how much harder you have to work. Reporter these High Schoolers move on to emt classes and accredited paramedic courses after graduation and all along they are paired one firefighters that mentor them. We hire people that have zero experience. Reporter this unique program is meant to guide those closer to home. It would mean a lot because growing up here to get back to my community and the people im around. We would like more of their local youth to become firefighters. Primarily geared to berkeley use. Specifically at risk youth who are not college bound. Who do not have the Financial Support to go to college but who do want to have a good paying job. Reporter senior javier perez says this course was an eye opener. I think classes like these are ones that definitely open doors to many different people whether they have plan of college or not. Reporter today these kids were trying on all the gear just for practice but within a couple of years, many of these students will be doing this all for real. No trouble there. When you get to the bay bridge toll plaza, it is not backed up yet. Usually we dont see a back up until 5 30. This is a look at the rest of the contra costa commute highway 4 looks good. Im a little surprised but we will just take it. Highway 4 the green sensor is there. And 680 from walnut creek down to san ramon all in good shape. I got the text at 3 00 a. M. I switched ties. You did . This is as close as i get. If you adjust your set a little bit, it looks like it. There you go. We have mostly clear skies but its a cool pattern and there is a rather robust fouling bees for sop. 48degrees the west wind at 20 miles an hour. Its may; right . Thursday, Late Wednesday into thursday. Should be gone by friday but rain totals could be around a half an inch for some. Below average temps and staying very cool for inland areas.
