You can see the sandbags around to protect these businesses from the possibility of flooding. We are in front of a salon that is all ready to go. They are bracing for as much as seven inches of rain. Flash flood watches in effect throughout the north bay. This is the first significant rain in Northern California in about six weeks. A wet, windy storm that will bring periods of heavy rain. Yesterday people were busy filling sandbags. In downtown healdsburg, Business Owners say they are not take any chances. Many stores were overwhelmed by drenching rainstorm back in december. Healdsburg city manager doesnt want people to be caught off guard. What i would say is make sure you are cleaning out your storm drains around your house, make sure your gutters are clean. Thats what causes a lot of the problems. Reporter and there are a lot of fire stations all around the north bay that still have sandbags available if people need them. This storm will also pack some pretty strong winds and that could take down trees and power lines as well. There are no reports of damage or injuries. A man is in Critical Condition after he was hit by a muni streetcar last night. The person tried to dart across the street but was hit by a muni streetcar. The incident happened just after 10 00 last night. There are no reports that anyone on the streetcar was hurt. A man hit by a car after he was chasing after his dog in san jose has died. He was walking his dog near first and liberty street. Mora went after the dog and was hit by an on coming car. He died wednesday from his injuries. Investigators do not think the driver was speeding. There is a warning for students and staff at San Francisco State University after a Sexual Assault on campus. University police say early yesterday morning just before 1 00 a. M. A woman was walking between burke hall and the Student Health center when a man pulled her into the bushes, pressed a sharp object into her side and groped her. The attack went on for a minute before the victim cried out and the man ran off. They are reconsidering their habits in the wake of the attack. I do carry around one of those pink pepper sprays. I will definitely make sure i have that in my hand as im walking home. Investigators say the victim saw the man sitting at a table outside the Student Center just before the attack. The only description so far is that he is in his late 20s. About 57 and wearing a gray hoody and blue jeans. Berkeley high school is launching a new Sexual Assault Prevention Campaign following a title nine complaint by students. Title nine prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex under any Educational Programs that receive federal funding. On december 1st a woman filed the complaint saying her daughter had been sexually assaulted. After that a dozen more students came forward. We will not allow people to trash our city. The city is now offering a reward for people who turn in illegal dumpers. The reward a minimum 100 or half the fine the dumper pays which ever is greater. Last year alone the city says they have received more than 19,000 calls about illegal dumpers. Its a problem that cost the city more than 5 million a year. We need the public to be our eyes and ears out in the community. Out in their own neighborhoods so they see what is going on and help share that information with us. Now here is how the program works. You will need to get the dumpers license plate number, vehicle description, the items dumped, the location, date, and time. Call the Public Works Department or use their cclick fix app. The port of oakland could be shut down on monday because of a dispute. A sex offender accused of molesting an eightyearold girl in a toy aisle is in custody. 33yearold carlisle virginia zone was arrested for that attack. Oakland Police Sergeant tracked him down by analyzing a program that monitors the movement of sex offenders by their ankle bracelets. The tracking system put him in the 0. 99 store. Investigators say he was recently released from prison after being convicted of molesting an eightyearold girl in a San Leandro Walmart in 2010. This new charge could put him behind bars for life. The next morning that father woke up in his jail cell and realized he didnt know where his two young sons were. Police started a frantic search to find them.
