Reporter roughly four hours after this first shooting, investigators say dalton killed 53yearold Richard Smith and his 17yearold son tyler, a high school senior, who were looking at cars at a kalamazoo dealership eight miles away. Reporter less than 20 minutes later, Authorities Say dalton showed up at a Cracker Barrel restaurant and shot five more people in the parking lot. Four women died, 60yearold mary jo nye, a retired high school teacher, and her sister inlaw, 62yearold mary lou nye, a retired mother of two. 68yearold barbara hawthorne, food company after 22 years, and 74yearold dorothy brown, who was retired and helped seniors with their finances.
