Wx timer 40 four students have been arrested after a threat that prompted the evacuation of the high school in newman grove, nebraska. Ktiv us9s9s mike flood has thehe latest on the investigation. It started about 12 10, when School Administrator s were made aware of a Facebook Post that was posted at about 10am. In that post, unspecified threats were made against the School Building and the people inside. School officials immediately contacted Newman Grove Police county sheriff officials. The threat was one of the nature of violence to the school and its students, said Madison County sheriff, vern hjorth. So, consequently, the school was shut down. Now, Madison County has whats called a cirt Team Critical Incident Response team. They immediately made their way to newman grove, surrounded the school and began investigating exactly what happened. A short time after their arrival, they took four students into custody, all juveniles, and transported them to the juvenile Detention Center in madison, which is about 15 miles away. As for the rest of the day, they spent a little time after that sweeping the school just to see if anything was left behind or if anybody e ee was involved, and by 2 30, i iwas business as usuaua we are very lucky to have officers in and around o community to help us deal with these types of situations, said newman grove superintendent, mikel shalikow. Now parents were alerted that the school had been placed on lockdown. School Officials Say theyd like to call everybody and let them know exactly what happened, but things are moving so quickly. The good news is, at the end of the day, all of the kids, the parents, the teachers went home safely. Four the Madison County attorney will now decide what charges the teens face and if they will be tried as adults.
