Thats kind of the way the day is going to go. We have all of this drifting toward the west, a low cut itself off, everything circulating around, you can see direction out here around Lake Havasu City. A Border Patrol agent is dead after police say he was involved in a standoff with officers. Fox 10s Nicole Garcia live in maricopa this afternoon has the latest on this story. Nicole, what can you share with us . Yeah, celeste, more than 12 hou investigators remain here at the home. They are investigators with Maricopa Police and the Border Patrol, the medical examiner just arrived. And you can see there is still a lot of evidence of that shootout here that happened last night. You can see those shattered windows up there on the second story of the house. Thats where police say jeremy russo, who is a Border Patrol agent, opened fire on a maricopa officer who was arriving here responding to a Domestic Violence call. Police believe he was shooting rounds from russos rifle hit at least three other homes directly across the street. Police say one maricopa officer fired five rounds at russo after that officer was shot at. That officer was not hurt. Neighbors told us they heard about a total of a dozen gunshots go off last night. There was all kinds of noise before we went to bed. We heard gunshots. I thought they were probably firecrackers, but my husband knew it was gunshots, and then we went to bed and there was some more shooting, and then the flash and bang, and the helicopters. Reporter now the d. P. S. Swat team was also out here. They responded to the shooting, had to blow in the front door, and they sent their robot into the house. It was that robot who discovered an upstairs closet. Investigators are still waiting on that medical examiner to tell them exactly how russo died, if he killed himself or if he was hit by a bullet fired by one of the maricopa officers. Again, the cause of death is still under investigation, the medical examiner just arrived on scene. Russos three children and wife were able to get out safely, and russos wife did tell have been drunk at the time of the shooting. Thank you, nicole. A tragic accident leaves a man dead after he was hit while trying to change a tire on the side of i17. The person who hit him has been arrested. The car pulled over last night, on the white line there. There were three people with him when he was hit who suffered disabled vehicle, was hardly even damaged by this collision. Its just a tragedy that the people riding in this vehicle were seriously injured and there is a fatality as a result. And it also brings up the dangers of trying to pull over and change a tire on the side of the freeway. Trying to get off the road if you can.
