Lot, as you can see, kind of glistening, and also of course on ray road, and you can hear the cars driving through that rain, people trying to negotiate it. People taking care, its persistent o its slippery ou there. Persistent soaking rain, a little bit clearer than when we started, but a soaking rain. Thats for sure. If you have sprinklers you may not need to use them today. And if you got your car wa check. We had a dust storm roll through, and we could really feel the effects of the dust everywhere, eyes, mouth, skin, but now its been followed by a cleansing rain. Steve krafft, reporting live, fox 10 news. You know you are really in a dust storm when you have ear dust. Do you have any ear dust, steve . Can you feel any grit in there . Thats nasty. Thats when you know you have been out in the dust. Sign of a hardworking reporter for sure. This is from one of our great journalists out driving near the 202 east, near dobson. If you are looking to the east out here, cory will be here in just a second to show us exactly where the cells are but to the left on the screen, you can see some dark clouds. And these are all remnants of Tropical Storm javier, so its not even though this little part is over, its not over yet. Heres an a. D. O. T. Video from just moments ago. This is of the i10 Wild Horse Pass in chandler, and here you see that sign there, that electronic a. D. O. T. Sign, and its shaking. Barely. Yeah, shaking there in the wind with the portion of the storm blowing through. That was at the height of the dust coming up from the south. This is a picture of i10 and cameras. It doesnt appear that the rain is coming down very heavily right now but we definitely have some wet freeways out there. And cory, was i on track with this is kind of the first round of this system . Its like the storm door is open, right . Yeah, this is just the beginning. There is so much in store as we work our way through the next couple of days. We havent even seen the Flash Flood Watch go into effect for the large part of arizona, but we do have some warnings out there for flash flooding in the southern part of the theres just so much rain yet to come our way, and its been pushing through the metro area here pretty well. Heres a bit of a closer look at this storm. And again, the east valley is now whats under the gun, although we have one midtown storm cell starting to push on in and another moving up around verrado and east of there, around Litchfield Park, i should say. So Litchfield Park there on the left side of your screen, right thats Litchfield Park there along the 10. That just popped up, so you folks have some heavy weather moving into your neighborhood. Also this is the storm that brought on all of that dust. You can see it pushing up from south to north, moving right across guadalupe, and that moved all of the dust into the area where steve just was. But now we have got weather moving its way right on into central phoenix and, you know, at about the fox 10 studios, its raining pretty hard over here, also over t area as well. As we move into the east valley, heres where a lot of this very heavy weather is moving, from Apache Junction up into east mesa, and let me see if i can can move this over a bit for you there. Folks, all along the 60 have seen heavy weather. Now its moving up the 202, across the 202, and if you are headed up the beeline highway, i dont know why, because its pretty heavy up that way. Fountain hills, you are about to take a beating. Scottsdale, it looks like we are going to continue to see very strong weather. We have got a strong thunderstorm cell moving just to the east of there, so if you travel on chaise boulevard out toward fountain hills, that is super intense rainfall, probably some hail within that storm. So again a wider look shows where its all coming from. We do have a couple of watches and warnings out to the south of us. The whole state now is covered with this afternoon at 5 00, until 11 00 tomorrow night. But that blowing dust advisory is out until 1 00. We also have a small area, that right hand box indicates a small area east of gila bend where theres a Flash Flood Warning. Heres a bit of a closer look at that, and that warning is out until 2 00. They have had a real downpour there, but i see now we have just been issued a new Flash Flood Warning for the Apache Junction area. Be super careful out there, because those washes, of course, like all of arizona, run very, very fast, and then one last look at the southern part of the state, down around nogales and naco and sierra vista and so forth. You are under that warning until 1 15. So well find out why its all happening. That would be whats left of Tropical Storm javier. Well take a look at that storm and where its headed coming up in a few minutes, troy. All right, cory, yeah, thank you. And you were talking about apache that went over Apache Junction going up now over the mcdowells. We know the northeast scottsdale area is full of washes and roads that go across them. A headsup if you are in the area in the next 45 minutes or hour or is, big cell this the mountains, water has to go somewhere. A big storm system in tuscon left several drivers stranded. Crews getting people out of there. Look at that, up over the grill of that car. That car is totaled. The water level was really high on some streets and almost reached the dashboard on some vehicles. So as cory said, we are going to have a closer look at the conditions and javier. And look at that car. It looked like it was just pushed up against this with some of the currents there. Some of these vehicles, if you look at the video, look like they are just floating. This one looked like it was just floating in the water. If you get those little culverts like that, and you cant get out of your car, that could go bad very, very quickly. This is one of our photo journalists here with a gopro camera. This is near 32nd street and the i10, and you can see some of those rain showers coming down there in the middle of the intersection, and rain also on the window of this vehicle. I would say about 20, 25 minutes ago i was sitting over at news now, which you can get to on fox10phoenix. Com, and they are also streaming all of off the show here or whenever you want to dip in, and it was just that solid orange, right by airport, so i wouldnt be surprised if there are a couple of delays out there today. 202 near dobson, now our photo journalist is driving. Is this arizona . It looks like its so tree lined. Much greener than what we are used to here in the desert. I have got to make this drive every once in a while. Its nice. Trying to see off to the left, do you have an exact direction of where he was driving . 202, going east. Lets say he was going eastbound, you can look off to the left and see the dark, dark clouds. Again, as cory just showed us, really big cell in Apache Junction, heading towards the fountain hills. As we mentioned, driving up the beeline highway, be careful, watch for storms headed your way. Heres a live look from our a. D. O. T. Chemotherapy. Were going to give you a live look. We have been watching most of hour here, and wow we have been able to see some incredible shots of the dust storm kind of rolling through, and eventually the rain in some parts of the valley, and then of course its cloudy across pretty much all of the valley at this point. This is the i10 eastbound salt river bridge, i guess a little bit south and east of the airport, and looking back over here towards the downtown area, you can see dark clouds and this is just the beginning because javier is big stretching down into mexico, and now just the very, very top of javier is moving into arizona. We are in for a couple of days of weather for sure. We are going to take a quick break, and well be right back switch to centurylink and get up to 40 megs of highspeed internet for just 20 a month. Thats the speed you need to stream. Game. Connect on social media. Learn, shop and more with fast inhome wifi. So call 844565link. Get up to 40 megs of highspeed internet for just 20 a month for one year when bundled with a qualifying home phone plan. Speed may not be available in your area. Call today. Good afternoon, welcome back. Take a live look here. There has been a crash, a rollover crash. This is near the 143 and the loop 202. Now, the 143 kind of runs right through town, right near sky harbor airport, and some folks, if you have been here for a while, probably know it hohokam expressway. And you see a vehicle off there to the left of the center of your screen, and you see firefighters, paramedics on the scene, as well as d. P. S. Working the scene. We dont know if this is in fact possibly weatherrelated with some of those slick roads out there this afternoon, because as you know we have been covering weather for you since about 12 00 today, as well as throughout this morning. You see the traffic is getting through a little bit there. It looks like a shoulder or an onramp. It is, possibly on to the 202 i believe. High rate of speed here. But you dont see rollovers very often not on an onramp like this. Lets take a look at some tower cam pics, you cant see much, but you can see clouds. You can see a couple of spots of water. And, there we go, thats a little easier to see. So theres the metro area, and what youre basically seeing is we are socked in. Yeah, absolutely. Right . Absolutely. Cory had earlier, and hell have more to come, but we have seen really that storm system from the Tropical Storm depression, javier, kind of move through, and we are going to see a lot of these clouds here today into tonight, and heres another live look here, and you can see this is some of those clouds looming in the background as well. Yeah, so again, this is the east valley, 202, dobson. This is our chief photographer driving around, big dark ominous the thing that gets to me about this, looking at all of these different pictures, first of all its pretty spread out what we are looking at, and this is only the leading edge of javier. Just the beginning. From what i saw and what i have heard, we have these watches going on throughout the day and into tomorrow. In fact, the Flash Flood Watch for the mass of arizona hasnt even gone into effect. They may bump it was scheduled to begin at 5 00 tomorrow night. I wouldnt be surprised if they get it going here because we have an awful a lot of rain across southern and central arizona. Well take you on a tour, following the storms as they make their way up out of the tuscon area to metro, west of casa grande, east of gila bend, thats a strong cell moving want to keep your eyes to the southwestern skies. And this is the storm pushing up from the southwest here. That is the one that pushed all of the dust into the Wild Horse Pass region and what brought on the blowing dust warning there for a short time. That has now expired, although the advisory is still out until 1 00. Lets get into the downtown area and then on to the east because thats where the heaviest weather is now. We have got a small cell in around the durango curve or the broad curve on the west loop of 17 as it starts its way northward, and then over into northern parts of of scottsdale, headsup, gainey ranch, because Paradise Valley is seeing heavy weather now. And if you have ever been through Paradise Valley when it is pouring, that is a sight to behold. That is rugged, raw trouble spot for sure. And looking at whats happening on shea boulevard from Frank Lloyd Wright over to fountain hills, i would just pull over or dont even leave for another 15 minutes. Thats a good road. You may find some ponding on shea as well. Its kind of rugged out this way. I wouldnt want to be on the road to canyon lake or apache lake. That is heavy weather there. And Litchfield Park. You folks are really under the gun there as well. Theres going to be an awful lot to talk about there out there along the 10. If you live out that way, you know what we mean. Again, Litchfield Park is another trouble spot at the moment. Well sort it all out again plus a look at javier. Well take a quick break and leave you with a shot, this is the broadway curve here, the tempe view to the left. Again, storm clouds on the welcome back. Take a live look here from our tower cam, and you can see, barely, at the bottom of your screen is where our city lies, and some of these looming clouds over the valley, and parts of the valley you are probably seeing some of the rain, especially in the east valley, as well as around south mountain. And you see a couple of those rain drops on the lens as well. Rain drops are falling on our lens. Yeah, no, we like it. This is the kind of storm you like we have seen one accident, but not a lot of damage right now and not a lot of flooding. But a nice rainfall. All of our plants are getting a wonderful drink. I think as we see some of the dust storms roll through, well the sky, as we saw moments ago along the i10 and along the south valley, a dust storm, wall of dust moving through. East valley, one of our units driving through with a gopro, our chief photographer driving out in the east. Its still coming down. And the thing is, as we have mentioned a couple of times, this is the leading edge. We were just looking at javier a couple of seconds ago with you cory, and it is still hundreds of miles away but having an impact, getti closer. And that storm, even though its not that powerful of a storm, the winds not any big deal, only 30 miles an hour or so, but its really kind of super charging our typical monsoon weather, so its really pumping a lot of moisture up into arizona. Heres a quick look at where all of the rain is falling. You can see so much south of the valley, but things in the east valley have really started to pick up. Its going to be a tough time for many folks, shea boulevard, Litchfield Park you have got some weather to contend with too. Again, this is the storm. You see it whizzing by that. Thats whats prompted the dust storm, blown itself out. East side, i17 eastward, lots of rain there. Showers around gainey ranch. Litchfield park, ka bam, very intense happening right in around the wigwam resort there kind of down and to the west toward the 10 and around mcdowell. So if you live north of Litchfield Park, say toward glendale avenue and northward, you have got about ten minutes before that rain moves in your direction. Now to the far side of the valley, again, this is shea boulevard here, it heads over to fountain hills, its pouring from about Frank Lloyd Wright, which is here, this sort of rugged desert, really coming down hard there. If thats your neck of the wood generally, just be advised. This is, we have got canyon lake here or, im sorry, canyon lake and then Roosevelt Lake as well. Both of those areas, if you typically travel up that way, if you have got interests out there, its really coming down. So theres the wide look at whats been happening. We do have again several watches and warnings out now. We do have a small area in Apache Junction that is under a Flood Warning at the moment. 238 that comes out west of maricopa. Still very heavy weather there. I dont know if you can pass through there or not, but they had some intense rainfall earlier. Flash Flood Warning out until 2 00 for parts of Apache Junction, and then of course where it all started this morning at about 4 30 or 5 00, heavy weather south of tuscon there around nogales and naco. So whats causing it all . Well, its javier, whats left of it, anyway. How, and again theres no radar on the baja. Thats why youre not seeing any green here. But the satellite view from space certainly shows these very intense pockets of clouds, the very bright white clouds indicate some very heavy rainfall in there, and as you see it stretches all the way up here to arizona. So we are not out of the woods yet. We still have heavy weather to get through tonight and tomorrow also. Heres the way javier looks. And its expected this is new since just this morning. You can see how its taken a bit of a right turn here by the time we hit thursday, so we may not be done with this for a good while. We may still see moisture pumped up until thursday. I wouldnt be surprised to see this Flash Flood Watch extended past tomorrow night and then on into thursday as well. But anyway, as i say, it just keeps pumping all of this monsoon moisture up into arizona. Its going to be a big stretch of weather as we head through forecast. And when will the sunshine again . Boom, friday. Thats your day. So enjoy the end of the week and a return to more dry and normal weather for the rest of the weekend. Thank you, cory. Well be right back. All right. Back out here, we are following a big storm for you. Its heading into the valley and has hit, actually. Yeah, this is up in scottsdale. Princess drive and the 101 and you can see t coming down in that area. So lets look at another live shot for you here. This is from one of our driving cams, and we have kind of been out in the east valley, and as cory just showed us a few minutes ago, we have big storms out east, big storms heading towards the salt river lakes. And cory, i want you to pop in one more time and tell us what we are looking at here. This is a continuation of what we have been seeing. Some parts of the valley have really taken a pounding. Litchfield park and fountain hills, gainey ranch also seen some heavy rainfall too. Again, just starting to head across i8 or moving in that direction across gila bend and casa grande. And thats the second round or third round . Theres more in store. Well see if it all holds together. Maybe well be done with rain for the rest of 2016, of the way. The whole years. Thanks for watching. Much more storm coverage coming up at 5 00, 6 00, 9 00 and 10 00. Well catch you of course tomorrow morning beginning at gary, whats going on with your girl here .
