Here before 8 45. The polls closed at 5 00 p. M. , so those folks were in line for at least an hour and 45 minutes. And we want to show you some video we had from earlier today. You can see skyfox over the scene as the line here at the Tempe Public Library was coming out of the door. Now, this is what we witnessed at several polling locations across the valley today. As we got into the evening, we got here probably, say, about 6 30 p. M. And everybody was inside because again the polls did close can see that the now, people who were voting at this location told me that they had about 15 booths, so they dont think that the booths were the issue that was necessarily holding the line but more so the process of printing out the ballots. What do you think was slowing it down . I dont think there were enough people processing people that were ready to vote. They only had about i think four people doing the check in and few more. I also feel like a lot of the people that were working and were taking in the information werent super computer savvy. The booths werent the problem. It was the people processing and printing out the ballots. There was probably only two people doing that. It was a little daunting at first, but definitely it was worth it. It was worth every minute. Yeah, i guess the greatest thing coming out of tonight is that they got their vote in and of course they got their i voted of course today was the last day to get that vote in. Now, we reached out to the county clerk who did not get back to us, but they did mention something along the lines of if people were waiting until closer to 5 00 today to vote, they were going to be waiting this line a long time. But again, people were here as early as 3 00 and didnt really leave until 7 30, 8 00. The Maricopa County recorder, by the way, says more than a million early ballots the county and that doesnt include the ballots cast today. There were roughly 2. 1 million registered voters in Maricopa County, so right now more than half of the registered voters in the county have voted early. That is considered a great turnout for early voting. And maybe that means the lines will not be very long on election day. Well have to see. An election alert, a federal Appeals Court blocks an arizona law making it a felony to collect early ballots and return them en mae. That is a big win for the democratic get out the vote effort. This means that this with wont be a crime now for groups to go door to door to collect early ballots that have never been turned and were just sitting on someones counter and deliver them to the polls for that voter. Some republicans have raised concerns about this practice potentially leading to voter fraud. We are just four days away from election day. You should be seeing taillights right there, on the loop 101. D. P. S. Troopers helped ston traffic and turn the driver in the right directionment the driver was then arrested. Charges right now unknown. Developing tonight, one man is dead, another rushed to the hospital after a shooting and police are now looking for a group of men who may be involved in this. Police telling us that the victims are related in this case. Danielle miller joins us live now from the Phoenix Police department with the latest on the story. Danielle . Kari and john, we are not sure at this time what exactly led up to the shooting, but police are telling us that there is at least four suspects still now, we spoke with some neighbors who live in that area of the shooting, and they are telling us that not surprised by this violence. My kids were playing with the neighbors basketball, so they come running and saying that somebody is shooting. Just before 6 00 tonight, Phoenix Police were called to this area near 67th avenue and van buren for reports of gunshots. When they arrived they found two men with gunshot wounds, one victim died at the scene, his nephew a 20yearold taken to the hospital but is expected to survive. Danielle rodriguez, who lives in the area, wasnt surprised by all of the police activity. Lately, i have been hearing gunshots every time, so i dont think its that safe for our kids with all of this stuff. Police arent sure of the motive for the shooting but say there are as many as four suspects involved, all hispanic males who fled in a fourdoor sedan after the shooting. Rodriguez hopes that the its not safe for my kids, so i would rather just take my kids in the house and dont go out because you might get shot, you know. Reporter and at this time we do not know the identities of the victims in this case, and we are also waiting for a condition update on that surviving victim. Reporting live, Danielle Miller, fox 10 news. Thanks, danielle. A 15yearold shot during a Home Invasion in tolleson. A homeowner found two people in his house near 99th avenue lower buckeye. The homeowner shot the teen two times in the back. The teen is expected to survive. A second suspect was arrested. People who live in the area stunned by all of this. Now youre in the hospital and youre going to have deal with, you know, the legalities. Youre going to have to deal with your medical expenses. Problems turn out ten times worse now. No word tonight on the suspects identities. Tonight we are sad to report died from a brain injury, brain trauma. Police say the boy was a accused by the fathers girlfriend. She allegedly threw the toddler to the ground twice. The little boy, adam aguilar the third was almost two years old. Moreno has been arrested and is currently facing a felony child abuse charge but Authorities Say additional charges must be filed. The department of child safety has said that one previous reaction with moreno for report of abuse to her biological child. The case was referred to services and then closed a fox followup on what to do with felons involved with a Reentry Center in phoenix. The department of corrections announced it will make some changes. People who live near the i17 and Pinnacle Peak area say they are concerned about the facility being so close to a high school and homes. Not to accept any recently released sex offenders, so now the only people that will be accepted at the center will be those going through Substance Abuse treatment. Thats it. It starts with a thought that may not make sense at first. Killing rats doesnt get rid of them. The problem is reproduction. If you take a population of rats and you knock them down using a lethal means, youre not going to get all of them. They come back up, and then you knock them down again, and then they come back up, and thats gone on for decades. But then aha moment. What if instead of killing rats, they were never born in the first place . What if you could make rats infertile so they dont give birth to a zillion baby. The product is a liquid product. It is a nontoxic, and the rats consume it. They really need to consume up to 10 of their body weight in liquids a day, so this appeals over over overry o varies in female rats. Developing tonight in South Carolina, police fear that the man accused of holding a woman captive for months may be a serial killer, and we are learning that he has a violent criminal history right here in arizona. The woman was found yesterday up like a dog. Today, police found the body, a body on the same property that could be the womans boyfriend, who was still missing. Marc martinez joins us now with the latest on this story, an arizona connection. Yeah, john, absolutely, and we are going to explain all of that. But the man who has been arrested here is a registered sex offender who served time in an arizona prison for kidnapping and raping a 14yearold girl in the valley back in 1986, and tonight property for other human remains. She is alive and well, and she is obviously traumatized. She told us that she had been locked in that container for two months. Its just only by gods grace that she is alive. It horrifying case unfolding in South Carolina on a Rural Property outside spartanburg. Deputies discovered the 30yearold, kala brown, after she started banging on the walls further search turning up a body in a shallow grave. We have absolutely right now no way of knowing how this person deceased whether its male or female or any of those kind of things at this point the body has not been identified but police fear there could be more remains on the property after brown, the kidnapping victim, told police that she saw the captor and kill her boyfriend and there could be others buried on the property. She traveled to the property for a cleaning job and instead they were reportedly taken hostage. At this point, police have charged a 45yearold man with kidnapping but more could be on the way. An arizona man sentenced to pleaing guilty to terrorism charges, mahin khan arrested over the summer for plotting attack an m. V. D. Office in mesa and an air force Recruitment Center in tuscon. His father made an emotional plea to the judge, saying khan is a lost and confused child and needs help. But an fbi agent said he was offered Mental Health treatment when h from his radical viewpoints. Mom is saying, look, i delivered the baby in my car. Yeah, but she got help. The babys head was out. The baby is going to come out. I just still wonder, seven grand to deliver a baby . Honestly. Mom said they wanted to deliver the placenta, if you want to get detailed, john. Good for the for the mom. It seems excessive to me. You think there would be just a copay. I know, theres no humanity left. Parents in spain striking over excessive homework assigned to their kids. I know this feeling. I know you know this feeling. Phoenix police are searching for a gunman tonight after a shooting sends one man to the hospital and leaves another dead. That violence breaking out in a neighborhood near 67th avenue and van buren, and fox 10s Danielle Miller joins us live now f headquarters with what we know tonight. Danielle . Marc, at this time we are not sure what led up to this shooting. But police are telling us that theres at least four suspects still on the loose tonight. Earlier this evening we spoke with neighbors who live in the neighborhood where that shooting took place, and they are telling us they are not surprised by the violence. My kids were playing with the neighbor, basketball, so they came running to say that somebody was shooting. This area near 67th avenue and van buren for reports of gunshots. When they arrived they found two men with gunshot wounds, one victim died at the scene. His nephew, a 20yearold man, was taken to the hospital but is expected to survive. Daniel rodriguez who lives in the area wasnt surprised by all of the police activity. Lately, i have been hearing gunshots every time, so i dont think thats safe for our kids with all of this stuff. Police still arent sure of a motive for theres as many as four suspects involved, all hispanic males who fled in a four door sedan after the shooting. Rodriguez is hoping the violence will stop. I hope we get a better neighborhood. Theres hope that it wont happen again. And marc, at this time, we do not know the identities of the victims in this case at this time.
