A 2alarm overnight fire in pittsburg has left three people dead. It broke out around 12 30 this morning at a home in the 200 block of dimaggio avenue. Firefighters were able to put out the fire in less than a half hour. All three people died at the home. A second home may have also been damaged from the fire. The firefighters mainly were able to do a fire attack and a search for potential victims. There were three individuals found inside the home. All deceased. There were brought out by the firefighters but they all perished in the fire. They were able to put out the blaze and less than 30 minutes. They were all women. There were also all related. Still no word on what caused the blaze but there were no fire warnings inside a house. It seems that it is official, so quickly. Naming is a routine effort in any legislative body. Unless of course it comes to the former mayor, willie brown. This was a proposal. And then people kind of started bending their roles in just a couple of days. Ive never seen the legislation works so fast [laughter] and it is usually working something but this however, was people are thinking about sueing. This was more about why is this. And issue right now . I do not think that people can dispute the fact that former mayor, willie brown deserves some recognition. Aside from the fact of what he may have died in San Francisco let us look at he was born and raised from the south and the was a shoe shiner to be his first job. How ever, he became one of the most powerful black politician in the country right behind president barack obama. Theres a lot of accomplishment regardless of what he has it dawnedof what he has done. And the bay bridge naming that is a bit debatable but i do not see a problem in it. There are a lot of bridges that nobody ever notices. And however this is an honor. And in terms of the overall impact to the bay area is a flurry. In the end, it is always going to be called the bay bridge. This is more symbolic . This is definitely symbolic. And each one half is named after a george mill of a cartoonist bridge is named after an engineer. And of course, the cortines carquinez bridge however, is named after an engineer but it is not really called that. Kron fours jeff bush explains what happened. El cerrito police say the attack happened on monday night around seven o clock. Police say that a woman in her 20s was leaving the el cerrito bart station and was walking home. She had her head down and was texting so she couldnt see her attacker. Who, out of nowhere, came and started beating her uppunching her in the head and the face. Then, that attacker grbed the woman and started dragging her into the bushes. You can see on your screen, a police composite sketch of the suspect. Police say the suspect is a hispanic man in his 20s, roughly five feet, five inches tall with a medium complexion and stubby facial hair. Police say the victim was screaming and a nearby resident heard the screams through the window. She went to check out the situation. That scared off the attacker who ran away in the opposite direction. Police say this is a perfect example of one reason why you should not walk and text. The woman is ok. Im jeff bush at the el cerrito bart station, kron four news. Drivers in walnut creek could be in store for a dollar increase at parking meters. The proposal by the citys Transportation Commission will potentially double meter rates. When parking is in high demand rates could go from the current price of one dollar an hour to two dollars an hour. When parking is in low demand rates could go from the current 50cents an hour. To onedollar an hour. The Transportation Commission says, this is all part of a plan to drive people into using the citys often under used parking garages. City staff also recommends changing the meter enforcement hours. They are currently enforced from nine in the morning until six at night.
