nearly a million dollars. the federal government says ryan against are from corona, admitted he operated a website starting in february 2018 designed to defraud investors by making claims about cryptocurrency investment opportunities. authorities say against or claimed the investments would be, quote, job, replacing income and that investors could request their profits at any time. they wanted. the website received almost $845,000 in bitcoin deposits within the 38 days. it was up against or and mid 2, not investing the funds, but instead depositing them in his own cryptocurrency wallet. now worth more than a million dollars. his sentencing is scheduled for mid-may up next year, a shooting at a bart station in san francisco leaves one person injured. police say it happened just before 5 o'clock this evening. >> at the 24th street mission, bart station earlier bart trains were not stopping at the station because of the shooting. all train service is now back to normal. no word on the condition of the victim. san francisco police also responding to an unrelated shooting in the tenderloin that happened around 10 o'clock this morning. the victim described as a 40 year-old man from oakland. he is expected to be okay. police are still looking for the shooter. a 16 year-old boy shot and killed in the williamson ranch park. this happened around 11 30 yesterday morning. police finding the boy suffering from several gunshot wounds near the parking lot. witnesses telling police they saw a person running from the park into a nearby walmart. they were quickly able to find and detain them. police later determining that they were a minor. the loaded gun. authorities say the victim and the mine are in custody, met up with a group of people in the dark colored sedan before shots were fired. and then that car sped off. this is an active investigation. anyone with any information is encouraged to call antioch police. >> down in the south bay, a driver has been killed in an early morning crash in san jose. it happened in the northbound lanes of highway 87 just north of the west bound on ramp from highway. 85 chp says the car crashed into a pole killing the driver prompted authorities to issue a sig alert and close highway. 85 for about 3 hours. it's since reopened. no word. caused that crash. starbucks workers hitting the picket lines for the 3rd straight day today, san francisco's castro location, one of more than 100 stores across the country that shut down for the weekend as kron four's gayle ong reports. workers say they've had enough. >> protesters gathered outside the starbucks on 18 and castro streets sunday. they are demanding better staffing, more stable scheduling and higher wages. we want ramp and james price is a supervisor at the castor district store trying to put some pressure on the company to meet with us in good faith. >> even the stories that have started bargaining. they came up with their will show up for about 5 no agreements have been reached in the studio. gayle ong kron. 4 news. >> after more than a month of striking university of california system and union leaders reached an agreement to end strike some campuses statewide under a tentative agreement. the university would provide multi-year pay increases, pay dependent, accessed university health care and enhanced family leave. if approved, the contract will be effective through may 31st. 2025 the agreement comes weeks after the uc system reached a similar deal with postdoctoral employees and academic researchers. >> happening tomorrow, a plane was rocked by severe turbulence. this is video of folks. >> getting into ambulances and being sent to the hospital. the hawaiian airlines flight was heading from phoenix to honolulu when it was hit by turbulence about 30 minutes in first responders say some of the injuries include a serious head injury cuts, bruising, and loss of consciousness. the victims, our is 14 months old. one passenger says the turbulence actually caused her mom to fly up and hit the ceiling after not having enough time to put her seat belt back on the airline was carrying more than 270 passengers on this flight along with 10 crewmembers. hawaiian airlines says it will support all affected passengers and employees. meanwhile, concerns are being raised over the faa plane evacuation safety standards. they say just 90 seconds is all it takes for passengers and crew to evacuate an airplane safely. but some lawmakers are not convinced. dc correspondent raquel martin explains. >> i fear is that our biggest concern during the overnight hours. that to leave fog very stubborn, dense, low clouds and fog going to impact our east bay valleys, even extending into solano county as well. so just a heads up plan ahead for your monday morning commute because futurecast for going to track visibility at or near 0 are already starting to notice. some of that pesky fog rolling into parts of the east bay already. so just keep that in mind. we are going to see the poorest fog by monday morning. and still by around 11 o'clock. we're going to see visibility at or near 0. for those of you in concord. but that better lifting and clearing early afternoon. so the dense fog advisory goes into effect at 10 o'clock tonight. that's going to continue through about midday monday with radar for right now. tracking fairly clear skies out there right now. but we are seeing right now city hall lit up in white and blue. very festive for the first night of hanukkah. so happy hanukkah. for those of you who celebrate. let's take a look at today's daytime highs. only warming up into the low to mid 50's when we should be in the upper 50's for most of the bay area. this time of year, 6 degrees below average for concord. 52 degrees when you should be at 58 degrees. so definitely chilly temperatures today and it's going to get downright cold overnight. we're already starting to starting to see temperatures dip for dublin and livermore in the mid 30's at 37 degrees. check out fairfax already at freezing at 32 degrees. not that far behind his pet aluma and santa rosa in the mid 30's as the sonoma currently at 37 degrees. so temperatures overnight, widespread 30's with the exception of those of you in santa rosa dipping into the 20's for your overnight low. so i wouldn't be surprised if we see patchy frost form there. in addition to patchy fog as well. temperatures tomorrow holding steady low to mid 50's. so we are going to remain below average about 4 to even 6 degrees below normal for most of the bay area. but taking a look ahead at the next 7 day outlook, our first day of winter that arrives on wednesday. not really tracking that much rain for the next 7 days. in fact, your christmas weekend can't believe christmas is a week from today. we're going to be in the mid 60's. so 48 degrees above average. believe it or not. so temperatures really going to thought in the coming investigating the january 6th riots. the committee is expected to refer a handful of criminal charges against former president trump. recent reports say the committee's final recommendations could look. you can see a pair of pickup trucks driving fast right there on the 2 lane road. the end of clipping each other. one of them goes flying off into the river. there. emergency crews were able to rescue the driver from the truck in the actually performed cpr on top of the floating vehicle. a rescue boat arrived and took the victim to the hospital for more treatment. police say 3 vehicles were only see on kron 4 last week the fbi released its new national hate crimes report documenting incidents from 2020 to 2021. 7 lynn sat down with fbi san francisco special agent in charge to discuss those latest findings. >> and find out why the data is still incomplete. >> the streets of san francisco chinatown largely empty on a weekday afternoon with just a handful of shoppers browsing stores recovering from the pandemic. the like to recognize the financial and emotional trauma still felt in places like this one continuing today with all that was bent but actually got worse. karl chan, president of the oakland chinatown, chamber of commerce says concerns remain for victims of hate related attacks. you're saying that they're actually far more hate crimes happening that are being reported. why is that the first saying that they offer a i said, is that a fair fight? we tell patients fears the fbi tells us they are aware of for the fbi. >> hate crimes are national threat priority special agent in charge. bob trip sitting down with us for the fbi's first televised interview on their new hate crimes report released just this week. the report, unfortunately shows crimes are still a nationwide issue. the fbi sharing nearly 7300 hate crimes were documented in 2021, nearly two-thirds of reported nationwide incidents involved black victims in california. the fbi observed a 30% increase in reported hate crimes. the highest level since 2001 reported hate crimes targeting black people were the most prevalent increasing just over 12% reported anti-asian attacks rose nearly 178% and anti hispanic anti latino attacks increased 30% between 2020 2021. report hate incidents involving the lgbtq community rose. 48% and hate crime events involving religious bias and antisemitism increased. 32% were hoping that people come when they know that this is something of tremendous interest to the fbi. the agency admitting the latest national data which covers e this year the fbi began transitioning to what it describes as a new more accurate crime reporting system known as neighbors. unfortunately in that transition, there are technical requirements that departments have to put into place as a result. thousands of police departments, including those in new york and los angeles did not report hate crime data. i do want to emphasize that the data that the fbi collects >> is only one data point in our understanding of the national prevalence of a crime were actually very confident that hate crimes are on the rise when we haven't just numbers and the point, what we going to do about it? >> hanging on to hope and waiting for permanent solutions. we devoted more agent time and more financial resources to combat it. a crime. anybody who comes to us, we will listen to what you have to say. we will take your story and we will help you to try to find justice. >> the fbi says they continue to work with local law enforcement agencies to get their hate crime numbers submitted into the new reporting system. you can report hate crimes to the fbi online at tips dot fbi dot gov. >> and world news tonight, pope francis says he had a resignation letter ready to go the moment he becpme pontiff. this is he continues to struggle with health issues. the pope says the letter was written in case he needed to step down for medical reasons. the 86 year-old became pope back in 2013 last year. he had bowel surgery and he is currently the limping because of a bad knee. he needed a wheelchair during a trip to canada over the summer. and during that visit, he hinted he may retire soon if his duties are impaired by his health. oakland police are asking for your help tonight in finding a missing boy. police say a 11 year-old ziyyan team morris was last seen thursday around 9, 30 at night on 52nd street. he's 5 foot. went one weighs around 106 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. you can see him here. his family says that he's in good physical and mental condition. it's unknown what he was wearing last. >> on the peninsula, south san francisco police say they've made 5 dui arrests last night. 3 of the arrests involved car crashes. no word on if anyone was injured in those wrecks. but as you can see, there are a couple of crashes there. the department says they want to remind the public to not drink and drive >> and the northbank vallejo police screening more than 700 drivers at a dui checkpoint according to their report, it was held at the intersection of sonoma boulevard and solano avenue one friday night. 27 drivers were cited for driving on a suspended or revoked license or not having a license. 12 vehicles were impounded. one person arrested for an outstanding warrant and 2 people were arrested for do you why? >> the first woman to lead the california highway patrol will retire at the end of this month. just 2 years after she was appointed. but governor gavin newsom, chp commissioner amanda ray overseas, the agency with more than 11,000 employees and an annual budget of nearly 3 billion dollars. chp did not reveal the reason for rays departure. she joined the highway patrol back in 1990, as a cadet. she is the second chances of boarding off covid-19 severe effects. researchers analyzed data from nearly 192,000. people diagnosed with covid between january 2020 and may 2021, they found inactive people were 191% more needed snow to help our reservoirs and also to help with our water supply. let's take a look at radar for very dry, calm and clear conditions. we are going to notice an increase in cloud cover, though, by monday, still looking fairly dry, could see some scattered showers as early as tuesday night. but we are going to see an overnight storm bringing valley rain and light mountain snow to this year early wednesday morning. just about an inch of snow expected with that storm. overall, a very dry forecast, cloudy for truckee. 38 degrees south lake tahoe. ca warming up to 41 degrees. so your sierra forecast for the next couple of days, gradually warming up into the mid 40's with very light scattered hit or miss showers and temperatures out there in the bay area overnight, chilly overnight lows and dense, a low clouds and fog. that's what we're going to have to contend with, especially for those of you on our east bay valleys, livermore. 37 degrees out there right now as redwood city temperatures down to 32 degrees for fairfax in our north bay valleys with downtown san francisco and alameda a little bit milder at 47 degrees. so overnight lows, widespread 30's low to mid 50's for daytime highs tomorrow with temperatures not really rebounding and warming up until wednesday. the first day of winter and a mild forecast on tap and a dry outlook. >> for your christmas eve and
