Driver of a red bmw held a gun out the window and was shooting at another, charcoal colored sedan. After defeating the San Antonio Spurs in game 1 of the western conference finals. Todays matchup was a thriller. As the warriors faced their largest deficit of the postseason. For more on the game, we turn to mark carpenter who was out at oracle arena today. Through the first 8 games of these playoffs, golden state hadnt really been challenged, but of course, Gregg Popovich and the spurs changed that. Leading by as many as 25points. But behind a remarkable performance from its superstars, the warriors rallied to take game 1 of the series. I give our guys a ton of credit, they stayed composed. At not one point in the game did our guys hang their head or think, or even not believe. So our guys composure throughout the course of the game was fantastic. They came out and challenged us heavy. And put a nice little run together and it took us a minute to figure it out, to get up to that game speed after this little break and it was definitely a nice way to win game 1. More like an amazing way to win game 1. For the first 2anda half quarters, the spurs pushed around the warriors. And did whatever they wanted as Lamarcus Aldridge and Kawhi Leonard combined for 35points. Golden state went into the break down 20, and then got a little advice from a familiar friend. Lets just focus on getting three stops. Three stops another turning point came midway through the 3rd quarter. Whenl eonard left the game with an ankle injury. After that, the warriors went on an 18 nothing run. We didnt come back to the bench all excited because kawhi wasnt out there. We knew, we had to try take this game no matter what. But we knew that was one less ballhandler. Manu came in and did a great job for them as well, so they got weapons. They are a deep team and they played together and they got a really really good system and we just tried to stick with it every possession. Leonards status Going Forward is unknown, but golden state is well aware of what this opponent is capable of. And mike brown. Needs oracle rocking for part 2 of this series. The crowd was going crazy and our guys fed off of it, especially in the second half and well need that going into game 2 especially because san antonio is gonna be ready and they are gonna be just as tough. And having said that, bay area people we need you again. Game 2 set for tuesday night at 6. Mark carpenter, kron4 newsor part 2 of this series.
