Hes still in shock that 2 shootings happened on the same stretch within a week. These adukts, what were they arguing about . They gotta shoot each other . Last night the Pittsburg City Council approved installing cameras along highway four. The project sets aside 100 thousand dollars for the surveillance system. In the past week there have been two shootings on highway four in pittsburg alone. Steve one of which claimed the life of a mother of 4. Steve and new tonight at 8. Two other east bay cities are looking to do the same. Steve the mayor of hercules believes installing cameras in the cities affected by these shootings will help put a stop to these crimes. Grant lodes is back. To talk about how he plans on getting funding. Grant mayors of west Contra Costa County will meet and talk about getting sone statewide funding for cameras along roadways. The cameras would be able to catch the license plates of all cars getting on the freeway in the cities where these shootings are happening. Grant that includes hercules, richmond, san pablo, pinole, and el cerrito. The mayor of hercules says this is a Public Safety issue and the State Government needs to get involved. Test so i do not think each individual city should think of allocating individual funds. This is a state issue and should be state funded. Grant dan romero says right now the cameras on the freeway do not record. In last weeks freeway shooting in hercules, the victims car had the same description as the car he drives. Her body was recovered at John Mcclaren park last month. Her daughter is still nowhere to be found. Reporter this is nicole fitts and her daughter arianna. Nicole was found in a shallow grave in the park more than a month ago. This piece of plywood was covering her body. As for arianna she hadnt been seen since late february. She had been staying with a babysitter according to family members. Today i talked with one of the last people to see ariannas mother nicole. Cheryl taylor. A woman that nicole had been staying with. When it comes to finding Arianna Cheryl believes that police should be focused on the babysitter in this case. Like i said the babysitter had to know something or she had to have something to do with it. She was upset because she was supposed to get arianna and the babysitter kept giving her the runaround behind her daughter. I guess they sent her a text message or called her whatever the message was she got that they had taken arianna to disneyland. They didnt have permission to take her to disneyland. Its like theres no trace of arianna nowhere to be found. Im just hoping that she didnt meet the same fate as her mom. Hoping in my heart of hearts that that didnt happen.
