The bay bridge construction getting ready to wrap up we are now less than 40 hours away from the opening of the new eastern span of the bay bridge. The bridge has been closed since wednesday night but will open back up Tuesday Morning. Kron 4s j. R. Stone spent the day on the new eastern span of the bay bridge and joins us live tonight. J. R. , you had an up close look at the progress that has been made. Any chance well open early . Details are unfolding in the Union City Police involved shooting tonight. Police say before they arrived on scene, the man had already fired 15 to 20 rounds just outside of his house, some of which almost hit a passing car with a child inside. As kron 4s alecia reid reports, police tried to calm him down, but it all unfolded quickly. Police were back at the home of the shooting folowing up with family members also knocking on doors and talking to neighbors. The Police Commander tells us the man shot to death by Union City Officers was outside his home firing wildly some bullets missed a woman and her baby driving by. Witnesses say he was visibly angry and screaming yelling outside, which i clearly heard him use those cuss words, and a lady saying, screaming pleading no no no. And it seems like the more she pleaded the more it was boom boom boom. It was like he was going bizerk. He said no, ive had it, thats it. It was very scary. Reporter police tell us the two trained hostage negotiators plus an officer that deals with the mentally ill were at the scene but couldnt sway him.
