New tonight at 11 00, we just got our hands on some information about a tree that crashed through parts of a home. The massive 80 tree crashed into a power poll. Er pole. The home right now is uninhabitable. An east bay family forced out of their home after a roots of a tree were loosened and crashed into a home. Family must stay with friends until power is restored. The National Weather service cancelled a Flood Warning today. Both rivers are still running very high and very fast. There likely will not be enough rain over the weekend to reach flooding. Flooding occurs when the water reaches 32. Some reservoirs are even or at near full capacity. We visited the stevens creek. The valley Water District actually had to release water out of the reservoir in order to make room for the heavy rainfall and runoff that will arrive over the next few days. In the east bay, hillsides creating problems all day. More is expected from this next round of rain. Onto a roadway. A Public Works Group was called in to direct vehicles around the hazard. Crews were responding to a landslide when a second slide came crashing down nearly pushing this dump truck over a cliff with an employee inside. Fortunately, that employee is okay. Also, the wet weather causing a rodent problem for some neighbors. Theyve been spending the last few days rat proofing a lot of homes. Reporter he says theyre infesting homes like this one in lafayette. It doesnt matter if youre clean or not a horder. What matters is if you have an entryway for them to get in. All these vents, well have to wire them off inside. If the rats climb up, they wont be able to get in there anymore. Reporter this homeowner set out poison, a shortterm fix, but not one keeping rats out of the ventilation system. People dont realize it, but they turn on their ducting, and theyre breathing in stuff they probably dont want to breathe. Its important to ratproof your house rather than just setting traps and poison. Reporter if you suspect you have a rodent problem, get in touch with a specialist immediately. That will be your best chance to get to those Higher Elevations and go to the sierra. Definitely at night. Going into Effect Tomorrow afternoon. Blowing snow is expected. Travel delays.
