missed all of them. they fled towards the free way. police tried to call dispatch but the radio wasn't working. >> the radio will sometimes go down. we have a difficult time communicating. we have no contact with the dispatchers. >> reporter: police chased the men as they went west on 888. at 85th the suspects ran a red light and plowed into another car. the suspect vehicle burned, the green car badly damage but the driver wasn't seriously hurt. police approached the red car. >> the driver fled, the passenger was shot and killed. the suspect who exited the passenger side was armed with two fire arms. >> you can see the yellow body bag. police arrested the other man. the mayor says the city will fix the radio problem. police have yet to determine a motive. the capital is amazed no innocent people were hurt. jonathan bloom, kron 4 news. a baby girl was killed when she was hit by a vehicle. officials say the one-year-old child was killed outside her home. no word on how it happen. woman who was killed in a crash while fleeing police how been identified. the sheriff says christina romoes crashed the stolen vehicle into a power pole tuesday afternoon. shoe lost a -- she lost a police officer. the crash knocked down power lines. caused 200 customers to lose power. search and rescue continue to look for debra schmitt. she was last seen a week ago after writing the message, thank you everyone on her chalk board. kron 4's reggie kumar has the latest on the investigation and what students are saying. >> reporter: this is where debra schmitt was last seen a week ago. look at this video. investigators have been searching for her all day near phoenix lake. debra schmitt liked to hike. the park is only a mile from her home. we tried to speak with her husband, he didn't want tatalk on camera. a neighbor said it was a delicate situation. that high school where she teaches, we spoke with alfred. debra schmitt was a favorite among students. >> should would act like a teenager, student. talk to us casually, easy to relate to and then she would also be able to teach. that's not something you get. >> reporter: she may need medication. they don't suspect foul ichina. here is what he says. >> ]] not -- nobody was translating. >> this is where the death threat comes in. they were set to his offices in san francisco and cram. a copy shows it contain as reference to rush limbaugh and littered with racist slurs and includes this image of a nuse. today state senator says while this is chilling, he does not plan to back down with his call to boycott the show. >> it seems as if whenever we raise issues we get threats. if there is any indication that maybe the threats would stop what i am doing that's not the case. >> the best thing i can do in response to the threats is to not have them cause me to change my behaver or the work that i do. >> he went on to say, he does not plan to call for a stop to the boycott. and still will make public at&t. rethink possible. . today for the first time survivors of the deadly san bruno gas line explosion are receiving some of the donations which powered in after the disaster. kron 4's christine connelly spoke with the victims. >> reporter: this is edward and the check you see him holding will put clothes on his back. >> gas in the car. bills. clothes, i need clothes. >> reporter: his home was leveled thin intone explosion. he has been waiting months for assistance. >> i know the city counsel and the city are doing the best they can, the right thing and that's all i care about. >> reporter: $400,000 in donations poured into the sid city of san bruno. now that money is being distributed. the families will receive a $6,000 check. those with moderate damage $4,000 and minor damage $1,000. rick says he will donate the money he gets to charity. >> i have misgivings about taking money at this point. but i am going to dispurse it in whatever benevolences i can dream up. >> reporter: any left over donations will put in a fund and a discussion with residents on how to spend it. christine connelly, kron 4 news. the parents of a woman killed in the explosion filed a wrongful death lawsuit against pg&e. jessica was at her boyfriend's home when the explosion happened. this is a photograph of the two of them. the boyfriend managed to survive. the suite alleges negligence and dangerous activity on the part of pg&e led to her death. a look at other top stories covered by our kron 4 news cruise around the bay area. >> friends and family are grieving the death of bory. he was found dead inside his home. police are call it a homicide. he had not been seen for a couple of days. family members found his home and unlocked and called police who discovered his body on wednesday. he was a former school board member. terisa estacio, kron 4 news. >> reporter: the sheriffs said they are getting discouraged after finding nothing that is leading them closer to finding juliani cardenas. crews have been searching a canal for juliani cardenas and his abductor. a witness saw a car enter the water so all clues are leading the sheriff's to believe that that car is in this canal but they haven't found it yet. on wednesday they pulled several other vehicles out of the water but not the car they are looking for. kate thompson, kron 4 news. we have a couple big weather stories. tomorrow morning it will be dense fog again. the advisory has been extended to the north and includes the delta and fairfield tomorrow. visibilities will be really bad out there. 500 feet at times. this fog will last through the morning hours. decreasing by noon. hissy sunshine in the afternoon and locally forming fog in the north bay. that fog from the center valley extended into the delta, north bay by tomorrow morning at 5:00 a.m. and fog in santa rosa and napa. dense fog. the 9:00 hour quite dense through the delta. starting to peal back by the afternoon. and hazy sunshine expected. temperatures are similar to today. the other big story is how dry it's been. a look at january so far, rainfall, the first and second, we had heavy rain. and then light rain on the 11 11th. last time we saw rain was on the 14th. it's been dry for over a week. there is a chance of that changing by the weekend. saturday rain chances increasing to early sunday morning. light rain bay area wide. we are seeing dry air dominate our forecast and that breaks down friday. extended forecast, tomorrow nice and warm out there in the afternoon, but into friday temperatures start to cool down. we will see increasing cloud cover. temperatures closer to average through the weekend. more clouds on saturday and there is that rain on sunday morning. clearing out by sunday afternoon. the warriors
